What I love about Piranha Plant is that the character is just one giant "**** you" to every one who wanted Waluigi in Smash.

after waluigi fans cluttered smash discussion with WAA memes...piranha plant feels like the perfect retribution. just the right mixture of pettiness, uniqueness and sheer hilarity.

I like how it's 6 months after he was deconfirmed and people still wanna **** talk Waluigi. I distinctly remember that he was one of 2 similar characters that people were asking for with terrible fan bases. Crazy how people don't talk about that other one 6 months later...

Pretty sure Sakurai (or whoever decided P. Plant would be in) wasn't trying to be petty or spiteful towards anyone when making this decision. Why the hate for Wah?

I'm fairly certain that the development team saw just how amazing Smash Ultimate roster was and decided to have a little fun. I see little actual harm in that.

I for one am hyped that we're finally getting an actual oddball character. And he plays really well, so I'm excited about that.

Such a strange and hilarious addition, I'd guess that Sakurai himself might have been behind the decision entirely.

Got Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, and whatever that dead fish thing is called in Super Mario World; I'm kinda surprised that later Marios never came up with a 'dead' Piranha Plant variant. Unless I'm mistaken. I skipped from NES, SNES, to Wii U and may have missed some things between lol.

Got Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, and whatever that dead fish thing is called in Super Mario World; I'm kinda surprised that later Marios never came up with a 'dead' Piranha Plant variant. Unless I'm mistaken. I skipped from NES, SNES, to Wii U and may have missed some things between lol.

That's awesome!! I feel like we probably already got all the colors shown in its trailer, but it'd really cool if that became like a Halloween alt one day or something. With Wedding and Mario Maker outfits for Mario, I'm hoping for some other 'unique' outfits as well; specifically 'Wedding Bowser'. Nothing like KOing people with a dapper dragon-turtle.

Although it's not quite the real deal, one of his alts is actually based on Bone Piranhas. Though it's still only a palette swap.
