Guess what, PETA's at it again, and this time with comic books targeted at children.

I love the back page, if animals can communicate, they're as smart and valuable as humans!

Now, I agree with PETA on some severe issues, but this is just silly. Does anyone actually agree with PETA on this, or can we all pass this off as PETA complaining again?

I lol'd at the comic. Unfortunatly one of my friends since I was young is active for PETA. **** them... anyways she has gone around our school with a petition to support better funding for PETA. She sent it in along with random names of stupid people who thought they were giving her their autographs, stupid people who didnt even know what PETA is, random fake names (I signed as Tony Montana), and people that flat out said "**** PETA."

From the response of this board I think a lot more people are going to be amused by this comic than frightened away from sport fishing. I'd count that as a good thing. Seeing as how I hate PETA for being such a hypocritical organization. They don't think anyone should exploit, in any way shape or form, animals while using the discoveries of science through animal research.

They also protest against animals as pets and functional uses (i.e. seeing eye dogs). They condemn groups such as the humane society for "murdering" animals while they themselves euthanize thousands each year.

PETA goes a little overboard sometimes but the issues they bring up are serious issues. Don't be so quick to dismiss the issues just because the people at PETA are psychos that make dumb emotional appeals. Read stuff from other sources, because PETA is an embarrassment to the animal rights movement.

The ethical treatment of animals is a real issue that people should be aware of. Michael Vick's dog fighting helps to put a spotlight on it. However, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have had the rather unfortunate history of being cruel to people. In this way they hurt the cause which they purportedly defend.

I never keep fish when I catch them, and if I were going to keep them, I wouldn't just put them in a bag and let them suffer, I would kill it quickly, stab it with a knife or something.

The only issue that I think PETA SHOULD exagerate about is Animal Testing. Animal testing is just cruel. They drip nailpolish in animal's eyes. They keep them alone in small cages and give them no treatment whatsoever.

Another issue I've been having is that I have mice in my house. I know that they will infect you and all, and we need to kill them, but has anyone ever had those sticky traps? With the normal one, they die before they realize it. But the sticky trap just keeps them there until they dehidrate, and if you try to take the mouse off, it would probably tear its limbs off. So we dicided to take out the stickies. What do you guys think about it?

A peculiar thing about PETA is that if you claim to be one of them technically you cannot claim to be a naturalist, since killing for food is extremely natural.

You obviously don't know what anybody's talking about. Eating meat is completely natural, as is the killing that goes along with it. It's mass fish farming, unreasonable treatment of animals all for the sake of surplus that's the problem. Think of it this way: You're fishing for your family. Do you go out to the river and keep netting until your boat is full? No! You get a few fish, just what you need, and go home. It's the same situation but in a larger scale.

As for treatment of animals, do you even realize what goes on inside those factories? Pigs, cows, chicken, ducks and every thing else we eat are torn apart, and broken (literally) slowly and painfully. They're all alive and fully conscious unless they were lucky enough to die of something else beforehand like malnutrition or shock.

For everyone else:

What the hell makes you think you're more special than any other animals? Just because we're self-aware and can create language doesn't mean we're better. Some of you guys are thinking like people thought in the previous centuries that "colored" people were 3/5 of a person.
