Actually, I think it's quite fortunate. I am glad this thread got so much discussion, I just did not expect it to happen. It's not at all a bad thing and I love all the -ette's the community has made. And again, while I never saw her as a full on character or even an echo, I was rooting for Peachette to be a cool costume. Though now, it seems like the possibility of Bowsette invading true Mario cannon is getting even more likely. So hey, come the time she gets announced, you bet your bottom dollar I will make a Bowsette thread! Can't do it now though, as I doubt you can make a character thread based on the argument "She was concept art!"

I don't know what I'd think really, if Bowsette ended up seeping her way into the Mario canon.

I'd say that I'd be quite frightened actually.

It's a tad long, but that's really cool.

I could see them placing a female Bowser into the canon, maybe retaining the Bowsette name. But I don't know if her design would be as risque as it is at present. Maybe something more akin to Bowser himself?

I don't think they will refer to her as Bowsette. While it is the name that rolls off the tongue the best, it still makes no logical sense, especially if the canonical origin is something other than the super crown. As for her design, I definitely see them taking some notes from the original comic design. Not to the point of outright copy and pasting it, but it's the design that made the character a hit, so ridding of most of what made the character popular would be shooting yourself in the foot. As for it being too risque, I don't think it's tat bad. The most the original design does is show a bit of shoulder, which Peach has also done on occasion. Stuff like her sexiness varies from artist to artist, and I could easily see Nintendo getting in an okay range.

Well she did come from the shyest enemy in Mario and shy girls are really cute. Plus, the female Asian ghosts are adorable even in Fatal Frame and the Grudge.

I will say, if they were to use an idea like Bowsette, what sort a game would they introduce the character in?The two most likely scenarios I see is either an Odyssey sequel where Bowser got inspired by Mario's capture technique and the story goes the way of the concept art, or a Mario RPG where it go any number of ways.

Yeah, either an RPG or a platformer.
I could see her featuring in a 2D Mario game, that wasn't a part of the New Super Mario Bros. series, with maybe even a more fleshed out story (as Mario stories go anyway).

But yeah, a sequel to Odyssey sounds like the most feasible route they would go.

Because Bowsette! is a dumb name when clearly it’s a pun of the names bowser! and toadette! for a character who clearly is a mix of peach! and bowser!

To be fair, it actually makes me feel uncomfortable to see Rosalina like this. It's just wrong!

I have never gone that far, but at first the design did kind of strike me as out of left field. Rosalina likes wearing a black tank top, jeans, and one of hobbies is playing the guitar? It's kinda bizarre. Heck, and this is me being 100% honest, the first words that came to my mind when seeing that design was "Wow, that is a rather butch design." But the more I thought about, the more it kinda made sense for her to have those sort of tastes in clothing and hobby. I think it's safe to say Rosalina is confident, and we know that Rosalina's tastes kinda stem away from the girly side. It has been hinted at that she has notable affinity for motor bikes, and we know that she is a good mechanic as she built everything on the Comet Observatory, including the many mechanical stuff. I would not be shocked if Rosalina learned the guitar so she could play lullabies to her luma children. And when she finally gets an opportunity for a break from everything, be it her duties as a guardian and a parent, why wouldn't she go full blown casual and let go a little bit?

I just didn't think a goddess, who reset the entire universe at one point, would go that casual. I could see her playing the guitar though, definitely.

I think this was the right place to put it, as I imagine it would be a bit off topic everywhere else, even in the Peach or Fox threads. This place has definitely slowed down a bit, but that's to be expected. The Super Crown trend has not died(Despite what some would say), but it is not as explosive as before.

If I were in charge of the next Smash, I'd de~echo Princess Daisy to make her a more Luigi or Falco~esque clone of Peach and make Peachette Peach's echo. The main difference would be in place of Peach's float, Peachette is granted a very small third jump. Replace the Toad in Peach's Neutral Special with Toadette (please don't question it confuses me as well) and I'd say we have a decent Echo proposal!

Funny, I just mentioned this thread not to long ago in the Joker thread. Maybe I should do that more often, just so I am not stuck in thread purgatory again(Even as a thread owner, I will not double post).

I tragically think de-echoing will not be a thing anytime soon, especially with echo fighters even being a term. Smash in general does not seem to like changing character move sets that drastically. For Pete's sake, it took 3 games to give Ganondorf a sword for his smash attacks. We can just hope that patches will give Peach and Daisy more defined differences stat wise.
