I am 25% filipino, and have no idea what he is talking about.

I mean, I assume it is some sport, and soccer would be my first guess..

It's boxing (you've never heard of Oscar de la Hoya?).

But I don't watch boxing.
Nope never have...

Google images doesn't seem to reveal a filipino man, but it shows a women which sure isn't him either.

Why does this topic have anything to do with filipinos? Is it in the 'pines?

The other guy, Manny Pacquiao, is philipino. He looks mexican though. Superstar in the philippines. "Best boxer pound for pound" according to espn

I hope everyone settles down to watch it with nachos and beer and a sub and some friends and whatever. Then one guy gets a lucky punch and the fight ends in five seconds. That would be hilarious.

Oscar De La HOYA va hacer el triunfador de esta pelea.

seriously though, Oscar better win, though I have to admit Pacquiao has only had 3 losses as opposed to Oscar having only 5.

and yes I'm half mexican (not filipino lol...)

Every Filipino in the world is pretty much watches Pacquiao fights..
It's kinda like how everyone suddenly got into Journey, the replacement singer is Filipino..
And iirc WWE's Batista is Filipino (I lol'd when I heard this)

Basically, Filipinos are huge fans of Filipinos

Man, I'm SO glad de la Hoya got his *** whooped. He's the most overrated boxer of the decade.

As much as I hate to believe this, it's true, De La Hoya has lost his winning style and nowadays rather than winning his fights, he just takes the spotlight without actually doing anything, it's a real shame for him.

It is over! Well that is depressing, I didn't even take a look

Although, I feel as if it is Filipinos -> Less than 100% filipinos ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Me, I don't really do much research/get involved with a community just because of my race, it feels.. pointless to me. I understand knowing the history and being proud, but I don't like bands just because some guy evolved through the same process as me forever ago.

Also, kids like to joke about this, when I walk by one of my friends always says "So I was telling some asian/pacific islander jokes and.. oh, sorry about that."

Another kid calls me 'Pino.
