LOL Imagine that! Pac-Man with moves from Tekken and Tales games! That would troll the Tekken fans, Tales fans and Pac-Man detractors so hard! :troll:

But what move/s is pac-man going to have exclusive to him?
I was thinking that maybe Pac-Man's running move could be Pac-Man temporarily turning into a floating limb-less sphere and biting repeatedly... Pac-Man's aerial down move could be Pac-Man temporarily turning into a limb-less sphere and biting repeatedly as he divebombs towards the ground.

A few new screenshots were shown, a new multiplayer trailer is revealed, and the full game will be out October 29th according to yesterday's Tokyo Game Show news.

http://www.gamershell.com/news_156367.html

Amazon also has that Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures - Nintendo Wii U will be coming out October 29, 2013.

I wonder if pac-man will be reviled in the month of october.By the way Pac-Mans Anniversary
for when he was first released in NA is in October of 1980
but i dont know what date.:c I did find that his game made it on Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984.

The 3DS version is also coming in November. So he has another chance if we don't get an October reveal.

A

A+A

A+A+A
Pac-Man angrily flails his fists around like he did in Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures.

Side+A
This is based on Mappy. A door briefly appears in front of Pac-Man... Pac-Man pushes it open... the door flips open, hitting the opponent.

Up+A

Down+A

Running+A
Pac-Man turns into a floating limb-less sphere and bites up to four times. The last bite has a decent knockback.

Smash Side+A
This is based on Dig Dug. A Pooka appears in front of Pac-Man. Pac-Man inflates the Pooka till it pops. The popped Pooka hurts nearby opponents.

Smash Up+A
This is based on Galaxian. Pac-Man ducks as the spaceship from Galaxian appears above Pac-Man and repeatedly shoots upward four times.

Smash Down+A
This is based on Rally-X. Pac-Man sets down two cars from Rally-X on both sides. The cars drive away from each other for a short distance before they explode. The cars can crash into nearby opponents.

Aerial A

Aerial Forward+A
Pac-Man turns into Super Pac-Man and bites up to four times while "flying" in the air. The last bite has a decent knockback.

Aerial Back+A

Aerial Up+A

Aerial Down+A
This is Pac-Man's stall-then-fall move. Pac-Man turns into a limb-less sphere and bites up to four times when dropping. The last bite is a meteor smash.

Grab
Pac-Man grabs the opponent and puts them in his mouth.

Grab+A
Pac-Man chews the opponent.

Grab+Forward

Grab+Back

Grab+Up

Grab+Down

B - Pac 'n Roll
This is based on the Rev Roll move from Pac-Man World 2. Pac-Man turns into a limb-less sphere and spins in place when you hold down the B button. Pac-Man rolls across the stage (or air) when you release the B button. It functions like Jigglypuff's Rollout move.

Side+B - Pac-Attack
This is based on eating blue ghosts from Pac-Man (arcade). Four blue ghosts appear in front of Pac-Man. Pac-Man turns into a floating limb-less sphere and chases after the ghosts in one direction. Pac-Man eats the ghosts one by one. If Pac-Man eats a ghost that is overlapping with an opponent, it is a meteor smash. Pac-Man can stop chasing after ghosts if the B button is released. This can be used as a quick horizontal recovery move.

Up+B - Pac-Chain
This is based on the Pac-Dot Chains from Pac-Man World 2. A red Pac-Dot appears and leaves behind a trailing path of yellow Pac-Dots and then Pac-Man turns into a floating limb-less sphere and eats the Pac-Dots. The player can guide the red Pac-Dot by holding down the B button while moving the control stick. Pac-Man can only turn in right angles. If Pac-Man eats the red Pac-Dot while it is overlapping with the opponent, it has the potential to be an one-hit KO move at high percentages.

Down+B - Pac 'n Jump
This is based on the Butt Bounce move from Pac-Man World 2. Pac-Man turns into a bouncing limb-less sphere. Each input will result in Pac-Man bouncing higher and higher. Pac-Man can bounce up to three times but each consecutive bounce get progressively stronger. Pac-Man can also link combos with each bounce. It functions similarly to the Ball copy ability from the Kirby's Adventure.

Final Smash - Pac-Man Fever
This is based on the Power Pellet from Super Pac-Man (arcade). Pac-Man eats a Power Pellet and turns into a giant limb-less circle (not sphere) and bites everywhere. Each bite results in an one-hit KO. Pac-Man can only turn in right angles.

Entrance
Pac-Man drops from the hang glider from Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures.

I'm not sure if that's all. It's not like there's much support for another third party besides Pac-Man at this point. Are they seeing it as Pac-Man vs. Snake?
Thats pretty much how it is now.

Yeah. There is more. Some people don't even know about the modern games, some people hate the modern games and design, and some people just don't like Pac-Man in general.

Meh. I don't get it. Then again, I've never understood the concept of hating a character in the first place. except Geno

I think it either comes from frustration in a game, mob mentality or rebellion.

1. Let's say you're playing Pac-Man at age 5. You can't even get a Power Pellet. You try again maybe 10 years later. Still can't. This causes you to think negatively about Pac-Man.

2. If a lot of people don't like Pac-Man, you'll want to fit in and go against Pac-Man too.

3. Alternatively, maybe you want to be different and spew hate about Pac-Man while others enjoy him a lot, to rain on their parade.

Also, don't you dare touch Geno. He's got as much as a chance as Pac-Man in my opinion. Of course, I'd like him as a second-party with his own series, since Nintendo co-created him (similar to Pokemon, EarthBound, Kirby and even Waluigi), giving us the Fab 4 Third Parties (Sonic, Snake, Mega Man and Pac-Man) alongside Geno would be the greatest birthday present ever (PLEASE be released April 27th, PLEASE be released April 27th :troll:)

I agree with what you said until you mentioned Geno.

He simply doesn't have as much of a chance as Pac-Man. He's now technically third party, and Sakurai has very little reason to bother with the negotiations to get him in. That's not anything to do with Pac-Man, though, so let's not get off topic.

People just don't like Pac-Man because they don't like Pac-Man. In my experience, this is often because they think he's a boring character with no personality. I agree with that myself, for the most part. However, I also think that Mario, Link, and Kirby fall into the same category.

But there's a difference between not liking a character and not supporting a character. I don't really like Bowser Jr., but I support his inclusion because I think he deserves it. One can like Pac-Man and not support him, or dislike him but still support him. I've never known anyone to identify with the latter sentiment, though. That's pretty much the case with most character speculation, I've noticed. If people don't like a character, there's little chance they'll support that character's inclusion, and that's probably because they don't want to play as that character. People usually want to play as characters they like. I know that there are people who didn't like Pac-Man to begin with, but hate him even more now that he's got a good shot at Smash; they don't want to play as him, so they see him as a waste of roster space that could go to someone they prefer.

We can always discuss Pac-Man's moveset... What they might be... How he can be unique.

I'm actually interested in Pac-Man Museum... Maybe for the 3DS. It looks fun. Ideal for keeping me occupied while I'm commuting between home and school.

Anybody think Pac-Man may be revealed this year? The last time we got a newcomer was at E3. I hope to see him by the end of this month to coincide with the release of Ghostly Adventures.

Don't get your hopes up (he might be revealed at the next E3), but it's a (small) possibility. Though it may be telling that Sonic was revealed earlier than Lost World's release, considering that it releases on the same day as Ghostly Adventures.

whats all this talk about geno!

no but seriously at this point with namco working on the game and that e3 wii fit trainer leak pac-man is looking much more likely than any other 3rd party, id' even go so far as to say he's more likely than snake right now. As much as I'd love geno to be a part of smash and as much noise as the geno support team gave him for brawl I don't think he'll be around any time soon...maybe if he starts getting in mario games again regularly, like kart or tennis or something, we could see him in smash someday... though I'd love to see him I'm just being realistic, pac-man is the safest 3rd party bet.

as for all the "hate" he gets I think it has to do with him being from the "arcade" "atari" era... you have to remmeber that video games went out of style for a while after the first arcades hit it big up until the NES paved the way for modern gaming. Because of this I think there is a clear cut distinction between home console characters and arcade characters and smash has a certain niche, specifically classic nintendo characters. snake and sonic pushed that boundary last time and there were people who said they didnt "fit in" and I think pac-man takes it a step further. sonic was a sega mascot who only recently appeared on nintendo games, snake was 3rd party but was somewhat a classic NES icon. both were different obviously but they had that classic "home console" era feel...pac-man is even further back and less associated with this era of classic gaming that most of the characters come from.

just my opinion but I think thats where the hate stems from... that and the taking of a 3rd party spot which has a lot of competition being a bigger "pool" of characters than the nintendo possibilities.

personally in the world of gaming I can't think of anyone else who rivals mario and probably surpasses sonic as a gaming icon, pac-man deserves the spot even if people dont want him.

As much as I admit that PacMan deserves a character slot, I just... I don't see it happening. Even if it did, it seems like he'd be very out of place like Snake was. I think Megaman will fit in well like Sonic did, but I just don't see Pacman working. Don't get me wrong, if he's in the game, I'm down for it if it's done well, but otherwise...

I'm assuming you only know the original game. Mostly because Pac-Man actually has moves that would work well in Smash.

You think Pac-Man would be more out of place than Snake??? That Sonic and Mega Man fit in well than Pac-Man would???

Mario & Sonic in the Olympic Games series
Sonic & Mega Man crossover comics
Mega Man & Pac-Man in Street Fighter X Tekken
Pac-Man & Mario in Mario Kart Arcade series

I like to think that adding Pac-Man in SSB4 would be coming to full circle.

I saw the MvC Pac-Man and I thought you were serious for a second.
It doesn't matter how the character(s) were portrayed, the point is that all of these characters have crossed over before on multiple occasions... for good reason.

Because they belong together.

I know, lol. I just hate the way he way implemented in that. I honestly might have bought a system for a proper fighting game with Pac-Man in it if it wasn't for the fail in it.

Well he was suppose to be a joke character....
He shouldn't have been, though. It was a disgrace how Mega Man and Pac-Man were portrayed. If you're going to get the rights to use a character, then do them justice like Sakurai has done with Smash Bros. (even if Sonic was lackluster, he was done fairly well)

I felt like Pac-Man was portrayed much more positively than Mega Man was in SFxT. He wasn't really portrayed out of character sans the slasher smile, which seems to now be canon if Ghostly Adventures is anything to go by (well, the Paczilla thing was a little weird). And his appearance wasn't played for laughs. It's not like we got Bad Atari Art Pac-Man. I didn't really mind that he fought using a Mokujin either. He's a little short to properly balance in a fighting game like Street Fighter. That doesn't really explain Toro, though...

Despite that, Pac-Man's more than capable of fighting outside of a mech in the Smash Bros environment.
