Hey, when you finish this, could you organize the download packs roughly by franchise? That'd be very useful, as I really only care about the Metroid stuff.

I'll work on the Fire Emblem and Pokemon songs, I'm at about 50% on my torrent.

It'll be easier for me to recognise from them as I've played most of them (and they are my primary interests). After my download is done I'll see about setting up some other people on the forums with the various sets from other series for recognition (as zips of just that set of songs). I can't convert them however.

I agree, it would be much easier to download specific songs that way. Plus it would keep the individual file sizes smaller so I won't have to leave my computer going all day for a torrent.

Do you know what all the Pokemon songs are? I'm hoping for a specific one, the Gym Leader battle theme from Ruby and Sapphire

Remember that the "Smashing Composers" thread, or whatever it is called now, has a huge list of songs in Brawl. That might help in naming them.

I would help, but there's really nothing I can do. I've got every song so far on my ipod, I can't wait to finish my collection!

Does anybody know of a tool to convert these game music files to .WAV? A plug-in for Goldwave or Audacity? Anything? I could do it manually but that would take way too long considering how massive this soundtrack is.

Thank you sooo much for your efforts. The music in this game is one of my most desired points. I'm so happy I won't have to wait. I REALLY appreciate this.

Can someone do me a huge solid? I'm currently downloading the torrent, but it won't be done until tomorrow. I think I'm going to legitimately lose my mind if I don't hear the Donkey Kong song before then. Could someone please upload it somewhere? It's the one from the update, the one that's sort of techno-y.

Thanks a bunch.

Same question here, but I'd like to convert to .WAV or another lossless format of some kind.
Wasted filesize man. You are looking at 100gb or so in music in wav format, when you could use a OGG or MP3 with a high bitrate and not have any noticeable quality loss.

I am sure you could find a lossless compression of some sort, better than wav though.

Well I intend to use FLAC but I just assume a WAV converter is easier to find. I can transcode later.

I'm a total audiosnob and always go lossless when I can. I have 500GB of storage space on my computer. It's no big deal for me. ;)

EDIT: Actually, I may have found something that will do the trick:
http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/dev/filewrite

Now all I need to do is wait for the download to finish. 70% complete... I can almost taste it.

Got anything better? I don;t have Winamp. or do you not need it?

... well either way I was REALLY looking for an "all audio" type of converter.... and still searching while I wait for a reply.

I'd say go for .mp3 or .ogg, also, for a good music player, use foobar2000.

Looking fowards to the whole soundtrack, dunno if it was mentioned or not but uh.. don't suppose there was any Golden Sun music in the game? GS has awesome music, shame the GBA only has crappo midi or whatever.

Someone claims to have converted all the Brawl songs into 192kb mp3 files and has put a torrent out there. Currently the torrent has no seeds and no peers, so... it's kinda useless.

On the other hand, he did put this comment on it:

If the torrent is slow, here are some links
Playlist: http://www.filefactory.com/file/5e1181/
1 - 25 http://www.filefactory.com/file/8bd4a4/ (track 1 is just silence)
25 - 91 http://www.filefactory.com/file/447333/
92 - 125 http://www.filefactory.com/file/0273be/
126 - 176 http://www.filefactory.com/file/9ee70a/
177 - 201 http://www.filefactory.com/file/73f293/
202 - 247 http://www.filefactory.com/file/a0e371/
248 - 314 http://www.filefactory.com/file/863382/

I haven't tested any of these but I will right now, starting with 126-176 because that should contain the Animal Crossing music if he did them in order. I really want to find out how many K.K. songs there are.

EDIT: They work. Or at least, all the files I played worked. I updated Avia AntiVir before un-rar'ing it, just so you paranoid types know. I originally thought N04 was missing, but I noticed that it goes up to N12 and there are 11 files in that category, like expected. I don't see anything missing... Though I can't find the Wild World Medley that I've heard before? Or am I just stupidly missing it?

Oh, and to answer my question, there's like 8 or 9 K.K. songs. Holy carp... this truly is the best video game soundtrack ever created.

Oh yeah, everyone who's pouring through the music and sound effect files, keep in mind that there are some people out there who are very eager to find Totaka's Song in Brawl. If you don't know what that is then here are some informational links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazumi_Totaka
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLMAgcGA8Dw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biLfTqQA5T8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBO8EZSNH3A

Finding out how to legitimately find the song in-game is more important, but it'd also be nice to use the Brawl version as a ring tone, wouldn't it? Yes, yes it would.
