KiNETiX Gaming is holding its 2nd SSBM Tournament, on JULY 14th!

The Tournament Sign-Up starts @ NOON on Saturday, with games following shortly.

We hold a SSBM Tournament on the 2nd Saturday of EVERY MONTH! So come by to get your monthly fix of Smash, or weekly if you are hitting ALL the tournaments around Orlando area ;)

Visit our site for info on our location, and just show up Saturday and sign up, then SMASH!

If enough teams show we'll also have DOUBLES this time, so find a buddy you don't mind playing with when you aren't smashing their face in =P

I have a few questions.

1. Whats the price for this tourney?

2. Will there be a door fee?

3. Will anyone do any housing for this tourney?

4. Will there be cash prizes for this tourney? And if so will 1-3 get cash?

What are the rules for this going to be? MLG? If not, you won't have a very competetive showing. I had to suffer through a 5-round Single Elimination tournament recently, and don't really want to have to again.

Also, same questions as the guy above me.

Sorry if this stuff is answered in your forums somewhere, but your forums seem to be completely non-functional. Every time I click on a thread, it brings me to a blank page with only some cryptic error message on it. Tried it on two computers, on both of my browsers, too, so I have to assume it isn't just me.

I HAD edited my post and put the Entry Fees and Prize Structure in there... but somehow these forums ate it. Speaking of forums not working... these forums hardly work for me >_<
Anyway, the forums on our site had a bad table error and we're working to correct it.

ENTRY FEES:
Singles: $10/player
Doubles: $20/team

PRIZE MONEY:
Will be a % of the Entry Fees Taken in...
Singles: 1st: 50%, 2nd: 15%, 3rd: 5%
Doubles: 1st: 50%, 2nd: 15%, 3rd: 5%

Rules are:
Stock, with the Following...
- No Items
- Time Limit: 7 Minutes
- 4 Stock

SINGLES:
DK Island: Kongo Jungle
Yoshi’s Island: Yoshi’s Story
Dream Land: Fountain of Dreams
Lylat System: Corneria
Mushroom Kingdom: Rainbow Cruise

These are very, very close to MLG rules, minus a few pretty important details.

COUNTERPICKING: The loser of the previous match picks the stage out of the above list.

DAVE'S STUPID RULE: A player cannot counterpick a stage they've already won on earlier in the set. Example: Bob wins on FD, then loses on Pokemon Stadium. Bob cannot counterpick FD, because he's already won there earlier in the set.

BANNING: Each player may ban one stage, so that it may not be counterpicked or randomed.
Example: I ban Corneria, because I hate it, and Bob tries to counterpick it after losing, but can't, since I banned it.

RANDOM FIRST STAGE: First stage is randomed out of the neutral stages for fairness of first pick. Neutral stages include: Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi's Story, Dreamland 64, Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokemon Stadium, and technically Rainbow Cruise, but that stage is pretty unpopular and is generally not used in the random. A banned stage is re-randomed if selected via random select.

eww.. lil nervous about the tourney's ruleset, but anyone up for picking me up from a Holiday Inn in Orlando this Saturday for the tourney ^___^?

Who all is going to this tourney? I'm down to go but only if theres going to be atleast 15-20 people. I don't really wanna go to a 8 person tourney.

I doubt anyone is gonna wanna go out of their way to Disney to pick you up. You're gonna have to beg your parents, or whoever you're with to take you.
