Okay. Let's see. Most people picked their left thumb at first, instinctively. What does this entail?

As expected, the average person uses their computer mouse with their right hand, and I have yet to run into a left-mouse using layout person.

What does this mean? Obviously, the left hand is the person's only free hand at the moment, so they pick that one. However, Urdailywater makes an interesting study specimen. You see, they chose to use their right hand after picking the left. This could mean that most people would pick their right anyways, if the mouse wasn't in the way. What if there were no mouse, though?

Those that are right handed but pick their left may be inclined to think twice about their alignment, while those who stay with their preferred side are obviously evil one-handed users who do not deserve to live of the face of the Earth. They must be ostracized, banished!

The moral? What does it mean? What have we learned from this, oh great sensei Teran?
The answer is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
