I don't think wifi matches show real matchups though. They just show a glimps at it. Like, I suck online v GaW and MK. Timing is essential, and it can be difficult to time WAC down to frames. Shieldgrabbing GaW's dtilt and MK's ftilt is very hard to do onlne as well.

Wifi matches improve your skills....in Wifi.

I really dont see why people complain so much about lag in wifi. I don't lag at all on wifi. Except with some people who have really crap connections.

Barge tourney level players brag about wifi( yes I am included in this) because it's not the same as non wifi matches. No matter how little lag you experience your timing is always going to be thrown off, on everything you do. I personally feel it's like trying to master two , yet closely related, but seperate things. More like brawl and wifi are two seperate games. But at least i'm not one of those old melee vets saying "Brawl sucks" because I actualy love brawl. But people from other boards come here and want to fight Olimar's and usually have no way of doing so other than wifi. Why not give em' what they want?

Um, Wifi does improve your play in regular Brawl simply because you learn what works against humans and what doesn't. Even though lag makes some things harder, you get a clear image of how other characters work, what moves they use and how you can work around them.

Whistling at the right time is easy for me even on Wifi :/ Then again, I play Wifi a lot. So you get used to it eventually.

It's not perfect, but if there's no-one good to play with nearby it's the closest you can get :/
