That's a good looking CSS! I might try and get that as a toggle in the 20XX pack if you don't mind. I've been thinking of making a "Texture Mods" submenu eventually (assuming I have enough extra files that can be used as replacements, after, hopefully, adding in SDR characters).

The only bit of advice I have to give (for next revision or something) is to try and get the same lighting on each character picture (Kirby vs. Samus, for example, in your CSS. Samus is much darker and it kind of stands out). I'm assuming these are all taken from in-game shots? Things that would cause this are not taking screenshots on the same stage and/or not taking screenshots with characters facing the same way every time. (different stages have different lighting and facing left/right has different lighting). So, for example, when I was taking the reference pose shots for the alternate costumes in the 20XX post, every one of those was done on Mushroom Kingdom II with either the front or back (whichever picture I'm trying to get) facing the left. That way, it is the same lighting for every picture.

Nonetheless, it still looks great.

Ideas for IC skins, because I'm not a huge fan of the current selection:

From easiest to hardest--
Sponsor themes: twitch (white/purple), or smashboards (orange/black with white highlights)color scheme for popo/nana
20XX: fox/falco themed outfit for popo/nana. Not ****** versions of fox/falco, just fox's jacket/metal boot texture etc. Really cool would be animal facepaint (nana with falco 'facepaint').
Pro: popo as wobbles, nana as fly. Color parkas to look like hoodies, and add 5 o'clock shadow to popo and paint longer hair on nana's face (maybe with TNE perm?).

Just putting these here, I hope to start on one of them...eventually. Editing each individual file is a hassle. Got to find some way to streamline changing hues.

Feel free to use it if you want! :)

I'm going to fix some of the icons. I was thinking that Fox, Samus, DK, Dr. Mario, Luigi, and Mario need to be clearer. Any other icon you think should be fixed?

I love the Sponsor themes idea and the 20XX idea. I will try to do the sponsors one.

Ok, so I kept this in my master folder for a while and haven't got around to finish it until now.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nxo2muyl40diqx8/Purin Flower Pack.7z?dl=0
This is the Purin Bow Flower Pack. I did not make this a formal post because of two reasons:
1. My GFX driver is terribad, so I won't use it.
2. I run triple webservers on a box not allowed to restart. If I used the driver in #1, it would, and my servers would break.
I need somebody to provide a screenshot of one of these costumes (preferrably the original). I only say one because I can get away with Photoshopping the rest. Thanks for anyone willing to take up the task.

e~ Not bows, flowers. *facepalm*
e2~ And whoever is getting me the screen'd could you make a cool "pose", per se. Something like my other "poses" on page one.

Guys, it's me once again, and I'm here to show you my latest project. This is going to be my last texture for a long period of time, since I have to focus on my other stuff (Project M Custom Build) and creating Textures/CSPs for Melee just consumes too much time, but is also so much fun I couldn't resist it.

So, in honor of Smash 4 now being available worldwide, here we have one of Mario's Special Costumes: NES Open Tournament Golf Mario!

Ready to Smash for Glory!
Before I move on and leave the download links I want to get some things out of the way:

- The stripes on the overalls are all placed with the intention of keeping coherence and order. However, as it's very hard to keep track of where the following color will be (since you have to color the textures almost blindly and without the possibility to check if you mess up) there may be still some parts that are not connected perfectly.
- It's IMPOSSIBLE to recreate the hat completely. Mario has 2 really annoying textures that completely negates that: a little square pixel that appears as that red square next to his "M" symbol, and that line that circles around the hat and that consists of only ONE color. I chose red to keep consistency, as white looked really out of place. So after many hours trying to make all the stripes on the hat match, I gave up and painted them red.

I must say though that there's a high chance you won't even notice those details while playing, as Mario almost never faces the camera. You will only see them while looking at him at an angle. Details, details.

I had a blast making this texture, and I'm very happy with the final result. Maybe in the future I'll make more improvements to it or something. Hopefully you will like it as much as me.

Sorry for the boring wall of text. Now to bussiness. Here is a preview of the epic CSP:

I did my best to make the stripes line up well but some of them get misaligned in different positions.
I'll probably make red and pink ones sometime but haven't done them yet.
I fixed your links/pictures. Sick textures. I always loved the Tron style. (I want to eventually make a 20XX logo in Tron[ish] fashion for the hack pack).

I had an idea about using the 'save state' / 'load state' feature of Dolphin.

Once your game is paused and you got a pose you like for the character, use the save state feature and then take an screenshot. After doing this, close Dolphin, replace the texture file in your ISO with another one using GCRebuilder, and then launch the game again with Dolphin and load the state you previously saved. You should get exactly the same scene but with the new texture hack.

Remember using the same resolution and window size while taking every screenshot to get the same quality and size. Put all the screenshots in Photoshop and delete the background in one of them until you only have the character render. The pictures are literally the same, so you can apply the same selection to delete the background on the other screenshots.

I can make a videotutorial if you guys want, its really easy.

Forget this.

That's not what I meant by what I said. It's the fact that you're character images are just overall better looking, I'm not able to get nice clean edges like that due to color indexing

Nice, Goxplex. High quality work, good pose, and perfect consistency between the variations! Rare to see all those things together.

Also, btw, I found that I couldn't find Empire Arcadia Marth in the OP. But I like it; can we has?

I put the magenta and lime green layer as the background and then insert the character render layer above the background layer. Let me try to explain it with a video, I'm going to update this post in a few minutes.

Here is a .png version of the file made in the video:

It comes inside the 20XX hack pack, but here is the download link for the texture alone.

EDIT: Oops, double post. I was going to add this text to my previus post. Sorry.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but how do you get the same screenshots between different costumes? I get how this would work between say Default Neutral Marth and Shadow Dragon Marth since you can trade one for the other in GCRebuilder, but if you take the first screenshot with Neutral Marth, how do you get the same shot for Red Marth if you can't replace PlMsNr.dat with PlMsRe.dat?

You must convert PlMsRe.dat to PlMsNr.dat by manually replacing every texture with Melee Toolkit. This is the most tedious part to be honest. If there were a 'batch' option like 'export all' or 'replace all' it would be faster.

Got it, what a pain :p Not so bad when you're doing Yoshi with his 13 textures, but that's a nightmare if you're doing Marth with 50+.

Is anybody here good at Stage hacking or able to direct me to a guide for doing it? I saw the For Glory version of Jungle Japes on a Smash 3ds stream and had the idea of hacking the Melee version to be more like it, while retaining the platform in the middle.

Here's the Smash 3ds version:

And Melee:

I think you could make a really cool stage by taking the melee version and removing the water and claptraps, and then either removing the side platforms or pushing them into the middle to make one big stage, like the Green Greens hack that everyone uses. I don't know anything about stage hacking now, but this seems pretty doable by pushing the level of the water down below the blast zone (or moving the stage up and altering the blast zones).

A long while back when I was making CSPs for my texture hack ISO, I would just try and find a pose that would look good from a pause without moving the camera. (or moving the camera into a corner position or somewhere that I KNOW I could get back to whenever I want). And then I would just have P1-P4 programmed to the same controller. So anytime I paused in a pose, I could just cycle between players and they would all be in the same pose.

Obviously, this comes with a few limitations but it does get the job done.

And if a character has more than 4 costumes, I would just have two instances of Dolphin running at once.

I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is. But if I end the match and start another match it loads the second texture. I've tried 3 different ISOs with GCrebuilder and the toolpack.
Here's the process I'm doing, see anything wrong?
1. Open the ISO in Dolphin and find a good pose, pause the game
2. Save the state with Shift+F1 or using the menus
3. Screenshot
4. Close the ISO
5. Open the same ISO in GCrebuilder and find the texture I want to change
6. Import a 2nd texture (has to be the character/color) over the 1st
7. Close the ISO in GCrebuilder
8. Open the ISO in Dolphin and hit F1 or load previous state

Not sure if it's relevant but I have Dolphin 4.0.2

Ok now i'm confused... Apparently the save state file also stores the textures and loads them by default. What I was doing was to use the save state to get the animation I wanted to screencap in the results screen (marth have like 3 different results animations).

I shared the idea as a method without properly testing it out. I'm sorry.
