On top of that I would submit a reason I would label as the "friendly factor." Darrel is a really nice guy, and is not a very threatening person to play against. Because of this perception based on his personality, he is not as scary to play against as say QDVS is.

I think it's impossible to make a list that will make everyone happy, but then again that's not its purpose. It's very difficult to encompass everything with voting but it takes a lot of work and takes things into account that raw stats don't (like match ups, improvement, etc.) Thanks for putting this together guys.

naw i've already said that I should be off since i live in georgia (at least the majority of the time... FL for vacations)... Plus It would be pretty hard to rank me appropriately since i've only been to one tournament in FL recently.

yea Andy's rep as a player is far more intimidating than Darrel's. andy was on the FC crew, he's placed consistently in the top 5 forever, and he was on the last power rankings at a very high spot.

Darrel rarely goes OOS (most probably don't know he went to MLGDC) doesnt' always place consistently, and had been using link recently. How serious can you take that?

Andy as a person is not intimidating at all <3 andy. Andy as a smasher actually has a pretty intimidating record.

Darrel as a person is not intimidating at all either. Darrel as a smasher is not recognized as often as Andy is so is not as scary to play against. That's what I'm saying.

UI isn't on cause he hasn't been to tourneys.

I agree with Chops that Rice is in the top 5 of the state. AND i've played him more recently than any other one of you. Take my word for it.

i'm glad to see smashmac finally on, especially after his impressive showing last tourney.
rice spoke of 2 FL iceclimber players (hozard and uber ice?) that were suppose to be really good, but i don't even seen them for mention, so maybe they don't play in tournaments that often? Either way, glad to see rice move up, he's deffinately deserves it.

I wasn't a panelist...my opinions in no way affected the listing. I simply was one of the people who tallied the results, the other being skrach, to keep things correct.


Pete, I actually want to thank you for what you're saying here...really appreciate it, so let me start with that.
However, your reasoning at this point is a bit unfounded. I believe I should have been on past Power Rankings lists, but my absence on this one makes sense to me. I have been playing Link a lot lately, as most people know...so people stopped considering me a viable option for the rankings...just how it goes. I recently picked Fox back up, but only for a few tourneys lately, so it's not all that accurate. that's all anyone is saying... People forget about me as a smasher sometimes, as Thomas said...mainly because I "sandbag" in friendlies by having fun with the game.

do I believe I belong on this list? in a word, yes. I have stats to show that, but I don't really want to brag about myself here...that's not the point.

imo, everybody who did not include me on their voting had a good reason to do so. I can see it sort of both ways, so I'm not that worried about it.

I will say this, though. Thomas has been doing better than I have at basically every tourney lately, so he would definitely belong above me. Don't forget about him, either...when he takes this game seriously, he's impressive in tourneys.

I got really upset this last Gigabits...I felt I was wronged in a way, not to john, that's just how I felt...so I really didn't expect to end up on this list...

lol looking at these power rankings really made me think of how much I need to attend a FL tourney >_>

For the most part I agree w/ 1-7 (after that gets too sketchy, people are entitled to their opinions) but the only thing debatable from that column is probally that sheikssbm should be placed above queendvs (no offense Q). *Actually a 2nd thing is debatable Spdn over lamb or the reverse, but the 2 are extremely close in rankings.

1 more thing I dont really understand about this power rankings list is why it doesnt take into account OOS tournies, if anything those should be weighed higher than FL tournies(harder to travel to(much more than 4 hrs worth of driving to orlando), much higher competition, more cash involved, etc.

Whoa guys, SheikSSBM needs to be higher on the list... he has to be atleast 5th. He always gets Top 5 wherever he goes.

This last giga he got Top 5(5th), and LTEC 2 he got 4th.... so yeah.

Queen and Sheik's position needs to change.
