- the devs can't say whether you obtain new arms by defeating enemies, but likes the idea
- Nintendo will make sure to polish game balance as much as possible
- the devs also want to adjust it together with players in the long term
- various modes with different types of gameplay aside from 1v1 matches
- all modes can be played online
- there is mode that can be played casually online and is there to make sure players can be matched with other players who have a similar skill level
- the devs need a little more time to finish the game

They probably didn't want post-launch games to detract attention from Zelda, 1,2 Switch and the others. Now that they're out of the way I'm guessing we'll hear more about the upcoming games, ARMS included.

Man, 2017 is gonna be the death of us when it comes to fighting games. ARMS and Mahvel have both been extremely discreet with their content so far, and I have a feeling that Smash Bros. for Switch (if announced this year) will no doubt keep us waiting as well. Not to mention Tekken 7 and the ever-but-too-slowly-growing cast of Dissidia FF Arcade.

Shrug. At least we know the whole roster for Street Fighter 2! Yay! (no)

I hope we get a new character reveal but I feel like if one were coming soon they'd have just put it in that new trailer.

Makes me wonder how many characters will be in the final game. At this rate it's looking like even more than like... eight may be overly optimistic.

Ok, true. I could be super-wrong on this and it could turn out to be a really sucessful game, but I'm just holding in the back of my mind, the feeling that it'll do everything wrong.

It's weird, it's not like I want the game to fail, it's just that I'm trying to just be more cynical when it comes to the game industry. Hype never really does any good (Think about all the crappy behavior after every major hype incident), and in my opinion, it's dangerous. Just trying to keep, first thing first, the game has a very, very likely chance of either A. not living up to expectations, or B. Bombing. 0 excitement=0 disappointment.

I think you're making a mistake.

I admit, there's a slippery slope between healthy skepticism and bitter cynicism and I might have crossed it a little, just like there's one between a decent amount of excitement and overhype. I just worry about what happens whenever too many people cross the line of over-hype. It can get really out of hand (or out of arm in this case). I apologize for the over-negativity. I've just been skeptical because I don't see the game advertised too often (Then again, I don't really watch TV as often anymore), so I don't know how publicized it's been (Then again, I do see ads for it at the movie theater where I work, so idk).

I don't much care about the fighter profiles, the info within is mostly fluff, but it does show that Nintendo acknowledges the interest of the series is character-driven, which is good. The gameplay seems more fun to play than to watch, so pushing the characters is the right way to go to better ensure success. Especially considering the art direction for the game is so good.

Reading comments on the Twitter account is making me wonder something about the lore: Of all the characters, Mechanica is the only character who doesn't have those weird swirls in their irises or the coil arms (even commentator Biff has these swirls if you look closely enough).

Even Mechanica's stage had a robot that looks similar to an Arms fighter being mass produced.
