NY: Play Brawl Here! Potential tournaments too!

Right now as I post this, the following place has Brawl for in store play:

Animation Odyssey
1327 Surf Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11224

If there are four or more people present and it is asked, they can also set up a tournament (though admittingly, their tournaments are a bit in a different format...)

Directions:
Car: umm, Mapquest the address.
Bus: B36 stops one block away.
Train: Get off at Stillwell Avenue on the Q,D,F, or N train, one block away.

Also, when I'm present at least, we'll also be able to record matches if people are interested.

mmm I can't say for sure. Mainly because I don't know if they want them. What I think you can do, (ask them first though), is try to negotiate a price with someone in the store who may want them, and split half and half. I think that may work as they do it with card games.

Side note, the game REALLY feels different. Quite awkard at first to be sure...

Still, charging to play is beat. You should be ashamed of yourself. I don't care if you have a store. If you're a lan center, then I take it back, because that's your income. If you're a game store, start advertising, and taking advantage of kids.

FYI, it's not my store. I'm just advertising to them as a favor.

They're a hobby shop. So they generally sell card games, figurines, games, host tournaments for such things, etc. They do "in-store rentals" for many games and imports, not just Brawl, so it is an income source for them.

Trust me, if I had a copy of Brawl, I'd say come play Brawl at Hofstra ^_^.

Imo I see nothing wrong with charging ppeople to play videos game. Brawl is not out in the US until march 9th so it'll give those of us who cant get to someones house a chance to see what the game is like. Besides its not like this is thr first place to do such a thing. Nothing wrong with giving heads the chance to play games they normally couldent play and make a small profit from it...

On Friday's, they'll probably close at around 7:30-8. You can call them that Friday after you get out from school for a possible estimate.

@Jesiah: I don't think I'd mind housing, but I doubt I could makei t to the bus station, most I can try to do is give directions, where is it?

Well the particular block with the trainstation across the street as well as the Coney Island Nathans and a Ballpark also a block away is generally active (as in lots of people). Though the place closes, even on later days, by 9 unless it's a rare occasion. On Thursdays and Fridays, usually 7, 8 at latest.

Sometimes, you just confuse me so much it hurts my brain . Yes you're better than me in Melee no question. In Brawl? Probably, though I can't say with 100% confidence as we haven't even seen each other play. And talking so much smack involves ripping myself in the same sentence? And you're really one to talk about that, so much, I can't even tell if you're kidding or not even. Or if Brandon's even posted that message. Or maybe I just try to read into stuff too much.
