Why does this sort of hype not happen to East Midlands tourneys which are probably easier and cheaper to get to? =S

On a slightly more serious note, i believe alot of the hype is due to it being a good weekend for some, especially those who were hoping for some smash that weekend. Also the fact that it is a brand new never been seen before thing to combine both communities in the NW. I'd also like to put it down to the fact that me and joe are both well known and respected players within the community. Also between us we have alot experience with this sort of thing. Also housing!

how much is everyone willing to pay? remember i am hopefully running 4 events. do you guys want prize money for singles and teams? or just for singles?
basically i cant really charge alot if it cuts entrants dramatically, nor can i fail to charge if some players wont show due to lack of of a prize pot.
my idea atm is charge £3 per singles, £1.50 per doubles, and £1 for venue.
so for example you enter all 4 events then it will simply cost you £10, which will be the maximum.
what do you guys think? i like this idea as it puts a more significant prize money for the events people care more about but it's all up to you *points towards your location!*

theres a fair few brawlers coming now, and instead of say 'ill go if more brawlers go' be ahead of the curve and say 'im booked. come on brawlers!'. I know Brawl is a new game so im gonna let EVERY brawler in on a little secret.

its not a magical entity which automatically get 5-10 Brawl players there, then you decide if theres enough to book. NO the 5-10 people are the people who actually have the balls to show up regardless.
The amount of tourneys ive seen almost ruined by peeps not knowing whether to book or not (i dont mean one or two, i mean ive seen literally 20-30 people not booking because theres not enough people going rofl) If they all just booked to begin with youd never have this problem now would you rofl.
On top of that your supposedly pretty **** good at brawl right Calzorz? well that means if people see your name they're more likely to book. Whether you like it or not being good at a game makes you a pillar in the community that helps to hold up the entire scene.
I'm really not having a go, its just a lesson you'll learn eventually if you host medium-big events. Ask any decent host and they'll tell you the same thing dude, for freaking book already rofl, its already obvious that the brawl turnout will be around 20, that enough for you, your highness

your course starts on a sunday? or is that just when you move in? usually if you move into uni accomodation at the earliest date then you have 2 weeks until your course will start for reals. first week is sort of freshers but basically lets you get used to being away from home, meeting flat mates, etc.. and 2nd week is freshers plus its also an introductory week.
thats how it was when i started at bolton uni anyways, then jo3 started in my 2nd year and he didnt show up to any of his first 2 weeks haha. dont take my word for it tho... except that the 20th is a sunday

As far as i'm aware Aiko no longer plans to run anymore at the gamerbase, but at some point in the future i think he and smudge plan to start running some sort of monthly event as well. I'm not exactly sure how things are going to end up but personally joining the communities for ranbats seems the better idea. And until anyone else is capable of doing so i'm quite happy to run any ranbat events that the people want.
At this i will probably ask ant and martyn to help as my staff if they are interested in doing so. I will be doing a similar thing for melee having Joe and possibly AmcD or Cpt Smashie to help run those events.
This of course all boils down to who is going to be attending as much as anything, if any of these players cant make it for whatever reason i may ask for a hand off some of the more experienced and capable of you, you have been warned! <3

I've made a slight adjustment to my ruling about playing frienlies on needed tv's. Now as well you will be removed from all events taking place, including any that you might have finished in a money spot. You will not recieve you money and the results will be fixed accordingly. Also you will also no longer be welcome at the following ranbat. Repeat offenders will recieve permanent bans. This might seem harsh but i want to be able to run all of these events, and i dont want it ruined by nasty, selfish jerks. Naiveity is no excuse that is the whole idea of the 3 stikes. There is no punishment unless you offend 3 times. I will also only remove 1 strike after each tourney so if you get 2 then, next time you will only be able to mess up the once.

Heat: seriously were all warm blooded mammals, so many of us in one room can seriously make the heat unbearable, should this happen ill ask peeps to disperse for a short while rofl, take the bodies out, shove open the windows, takes about 5 mins if that =).

I haven't been to a ranbat in ages and I'm not sure about how much money I have x_x but I figure it's best to start trying to go to ranbats again, and especially meet new people. :B
