NSW Smash Family Tree

So I had this idea that I've discussed with a couple of people about making a "Smash Family Tree".

This would basically be comprised of all PR'd or long term players in the scene. I know we can go back as far as 2008 and I'd like to go back further to the pre-brawl days if possible.

The basic idea is, for 90% of people that come into the scene, one or more players will take them under their wing when they are first starting out. Looking at it this way, there are alot of relationships that have been created to improve many players in the scene.

Right now I'd say the qualifications for being on this would be either PR'd at any time in either game or simply a long term player ie. in the scene for at least 12 months.

Thoughts, suggestions, questions?

Could be a fun little project.

Will I be the ultimate smash daddy? Being under cao's wing ofc. Assuming this is brawl related..

So, what, it's like a smash history of NSW?

I can definately say I wouldn't still be part of this scene without S.D and Andrew. When I first started these guys were really encouraging, giving me advice, hosting meets and driving me to tourneys when I couldn't get there myself. Shoutouts to chris, tim and tom as well.

Also I don't see why this needs to be limited to NSW. Although I kind of hate brawl now, Splice gave me heaps and heaps of G&W advice when I was first starting out, and it definately helped me improve. Plenty of relationships that could be linked outside of state boundaries.

I've actually been in the scene for a long time now that I think about it.

Yeah like you basically choose who you personally would be linked to. Like the earliers generation would be pre-brawl I guess so Kulla Pat Jaz etc if they wanted to be on it and then if you feel someone that was better than you really helped you become the player you are today then you can be like "Yeah this person really helped me out and took the time to help me improve" then you will get a link as a descendant from them or whatever.

Like for example Luke with the Canberra scene. He really put alot of effort into helping those guys get better so he would be at the top and the Canberra scene would spring up from him and stuff.

Oh well in that case...
Cao for me defs but as for the entire vic brawl scene I would like to think I contributed to most of that..
Melee all I can think of is cao. Shaz helped with a bit also (but not really). I kind of found the scene myself and then did my own thing...

Ok so let's get this **** started.

If you are in the NSW scene and have been an active member for a year or more OR are PR'd in either game, give me a breif idea of where you feel you fit on the tree. :)

I will also probably be doing it in like 6 month generations or so.

This sounds cool. only NSW? naww

would be hard to do all of Aus though i guess

Trying to think who I got involved and who got me involved within VIC... hmm
Afropony got me involved... Aled and I starting playing once a week with Gary after meeting him at EB games so he could be put in there... idk

That 64 flowchart is pretty neat. Where is Robsta? :)

Bryan seems to be a daddy of smash, he also got me into the competitive scene in VIC.
