Developer: Grasshopper Manufacture
Designer: Goichi Sude (Suda 51)

Overview:
Wii gamers craving a hardcore experience, your prayers have been answered. With its copious amount of style, solid combat, lightsabers, and gratuitous use of blood and swearing, No More Heroes is poised to be one of the best games of next year (and definitely the most over-the-top).

The story is simple: You play as Travis Touchdown, currently ranked as the 11th best assassin in the UAA. His goal is to become number 1, simple as that.

Oh, and you save by using the toilet.

Brilliant posting! This game will be visionary just like Killer 7, the thing is that i fear that it will be a sleeper title since brawl will come out around the same month. This may seem elitist but there are very few who can understand the messages portrayed in Suda51's games.

Yeah destroyman is very awesome, I like his whole maniacal personality...

anyone watched the one with the girl in school uniform, its actually pretty funny, and it shows travis has honor if u can call it, cause he only attacks when the enemy is ready, I officiallike this character...

and its pretty funny too, the whole dialogue, tough the basic enemis look a bit easy...

Aah, I just got my Nintendo Power, and they say they're really impressed with this game.

Basically, the main character inadvertantly kills the 11th ranked "assassin" (not really) with a beam sword he bought over the internets and takes his title. You spend the game getting money which you can use to buy weapons, or, more importantly, set a meeting with the next highest ranked assassin. The game is split into levels in which you collect money, and levels in which you kill lots and lots of bad guys.

This game is sort of sandbox style like the GTA games. That and the inbetween mission parts where you earn money worry me, but Nintendo Power stated nothing drags on in this game.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Travis Touchdown should prove to be an interesting character to play as. When I found out why this game was called No More Heroes, I was like @_@. waah?

gamersyde.com has the first 20 minutes of the game for your viewing pleasure.

After watching the first 20 minutes, it looks really repetitive, so I'm going to be renting it. From the video the camera also looks really awkward, so I'm wondering if it has a "reset camera" button like Twilight Princess did. You see the camera fling around once during the video looking like it does, but I haven't seen it mentioned.

NMH looks awesome. I'd reserve it, but Gamestop claims it comes out on my B-day (02/06). Then again, I can't really trust them until the official word comes in...

I really liked how they're not making this game with top-notch graphics, yet it is still looking bad***. Not many games can pull that off without looking cheesy, and NMH seems to have avoided that cheesiness. Props to Suda, this game is going to rock :)

Also, I lol'd at the burger question in the interview in NP.

Hopefully, enough people will buy this for third party' to realize their is worth in making hard-core games for the wii.

This is one of my most wanted games of 08 ( along with brawl, of course).

While it's true that this game looks very fun I can't help but hope that Suda 51 delays the game or pushes the release date forward. Pushing the release date would give people something to play before Brawl because, let's face it, the entire month of February (and many years to come) will be dedicated to that game. Delaying the game could give the developers extra time to work out the technical problems game and avoid the initial flurry of Brawl buyers.

Either way, I hope that this game sells well. I'd like to see a sequal of some kind. :) If the game does well, hopefully it won't go the way of the Viewtiful Joe series. u_u

Ubisoft pretty much just slapped us all in the face by pushing the release date to the day right after Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a three day weekend. At least it's coming before Brawl to ease the boredom, but honestly, why would they do that? Now all I'll think about that day will be how I'm missing out on the game. And, um, the struggles of civil rights movement, of course.

good lord...nobody has this game!? seriously guys! go get it!

anyway, i picked this up...the day after it came out? yeah, that's it. i beat it yesterday afternoon. it's an excellent game.

but for those who don't know yet, i'll tell you what you should look for.

if you want to buy it just for the sandbox style, like Grand Theft Auto, don't. it sucks to drive around town. there's not much there, and there's little interaction.

however, that is the only flaw. get it for the characters. get it for the crazy side jobs. get it for the gore. get it for the adult language. get it for the action. get it for the humor. get it for the story. get it for the customization. get it period!

even if you aren't a fan, try it out. you'll have a blast.

Very much so, one of the coolest games I've ever played. I can't think of one single thing that stands out because, really, everything stands out as something to notice. Not many games can throw you in like that. It's a bit repetitive, and riding around Santa Destroy isn't all that great. But these are minor flaws against everything else this game has going for it. I highly recommend it.

Truly this game is by far one of the most odd games i have ever played. "Kill Bill" type blood and gore. and freakishly funny cut scenes/bosses. get the game.

I have yet to play this game...mainly because I have yet to get 120 stars in Galaxy and beat Zack & Wiki...but I will get it eventually.

I loved Killer 7 and this game doesn't fail to impress.

=D Borrowed this game from a friend. So awesome, you people have no idea. I think it's the best 3rd-party title on the Wii so far. The only thing I have to gripe with is the repetitiveness of when you have to earn cash to get to the next mission. That's the only thing, I believe. Graphics are solid and make good use of shading...gameplay itself is tight, with fun, albeit short, minigames...and having a main character that rents porno from a video store and never returns it is pretty good unto itself.

I own this game and beat it twice already. I'm on Bitter right now, ready to face Holly Summers. Oddly enough, I have yet to actually die against anyone... That'll probably happen sometime in Bitter though. So far, I've learned that a low-charged slash with Tsubaki Mk III pretty much makes Travis invincible in that time frame, so if I have to kill a boss ASAP, that's what I'll use. Oh, and I'm missing cards 67,77, and 79. Anyone know where these cards are?

Wow, I was coming ask that exact same question.

Thanks to a website, I have $100 to spend at Amazon. It'll either go for this, Unchartered, or Force Unleashed. I have a few months to decide, but I still want to know if I'd be better off renting this one.

@ Crimson: Try a rent on this one first. If you think the repetition oversees the action and humor (which it can on occasion, I'll admit), maybe Unchartered or Force Unleashed would be better picks. If you can stand the repetition, however, go pick it up. All depends on how you like to play and/or see your games.

Ugh, repetition has plagued this generation. Assassin's Creed was one of the most hyped titles for me, and it fell flat due to repetition.

Thanks.
