Ah, well hello there @Tama ! You've probably been through a lot with this whole rumor, but hopefully you've gone through it.

Hearing that it might be a possibility though, it's making me happy. I'm one of the few who think Shovel Knight is on a rise to popularity. He's so far crossed over with two IP's from Sony and Microsoft, (and now possibly Nintendo) crossed over with other indie characters, and the series is looking to be even more successful now that it's about to reach the 1 million mark with a retail game.

He might not be like others, but he's on a rise to be a big figure in the indie community, arguably THE most prominent now if this rumor holds to be true. Now if Snake could join him, then I would be absolutely fine with the 3rd party line up, not like I'm already fine with it.

Thanks. Is Shovel Knight really that unexpected? I thought he was one of the most popular ballot characters back when it started..?

I would definitely be super hyped for Shovel Knight, but would be definitely unexpected in terms of Smash.

But this could helped the decision:
- Next week we get the "Plague of Shadows" campaign as free DLC.
- Shovel Knight will get a physical release in october with even more content that will also be free for the ones who downloaded it already.

Most Smash arguments come from fanmade rules, there has been no precedent to claim indie characters can't get in.
The only argument agaisnt Shovel Knight that isn't based on unrwitten rules is that he hasn't been released in Japan yet
But then we have people wanting that Star Tropic character...

I'm still not gonna make a guarantee on the SK situation considering what happened with Shantae and Professor Layton and like with Gemastu, it's never guaranteed.

Especially considering what hold SK back but I will keep an open mind so people won't drop down my throat for having large doubts.

The main source behind this is an individual that has been proven as a legitimate source of information. The source is also confident that Shovel Knight is a full playable character, and not a costume or some other form of DLC.

Others may have said it, but I'm going to say the MAIN reason he is unexpected, he has no Japanese release yet, and @ PushDustIn looked around on Japanese forums who were talking about ballots and mentioned Shovel Knight and a lot of Japanese gamers have no idea who he is, that's why he isn't viewed as clear choice in the ballot.

no here's what is new.

I had SEVERE doubt that he even had sources.....

Push himself said 30% true anyway.....so I believe he felt the same.

But now that he knew the source.....he know it's trusted.

it,s no longer a case of is tamaki reported the right thing, but rather that if he did (which I don't think I could doubt anyway), the source was reliable.

This is much more trsuted because everything I felt weird about tamaki (i still do tbh), well it suddenly doesn't matter much.

Consider it not new if you want, but for me, it chnages the way I will consider that leak from now on.....

Just because Indie devs are easier to negotiate with, doesn't mean Shovel Knight should be included if he's not a worthy character. Which he isn't.

I ought to make you a friendly wager - if he's in and playable (meaning you still win if he turns out to be an AT or a costume) you have to buy premium for a month and try not to enjoy the Disco Room.
