I know he's hated by the community but the guy does actually talk with Devs. He did leak the Hyrule Warriors 3DS trailer a week early. The one issue is that he was told it was going to be released the following day but it was part of the E3 presentation. The danger is if people are feeding him false information and he doesn't recognize what's false. When he comes to stuff he's released I don't think he's lied about anything.

I'm aware it was a joke, I was just commenting on why they'd leave out someone like Geno, who, for better or worse, has been a constant force in the Smash community since 2007.

The article was about highly requested characters who have one or more major barriers that could possibly block their entry, and Geno fits the bill. Joke or not, it makes sense to wonder why he'd be absent from such a list.
