Tbh, I wish I was on here more often at the time of the ESRB leak...

That leak caused so much chaos at the time.

I wonder if we will get anything like that in the pre-release stages of Smash 5 XD :p
Well either release characters the same way or just start dumping multiple character reveals at multiple occasions and save the newcomers for stuff like E3, Tokyo Game Show, Gamescon and other stuff like that.

I can't wait to see the many fake leaks that'll appear on that day :p. It's bound to happen sooner or later...

At this point, I would not be surprised if someone has a legitimate leak right now, but they're waiting to release it in two days. lol

Swamp, Radiant Dawn is nothing compared to Tharcia 776, and by the way if you do Radiant you need to play on hard mode, or your not a true hardcore gamer. Also this game is going to break you down into a sniffling pile of tears and regret, only to build you up and then break you all over again. Also you need to have Path of Radiance and play through it twice to get the whole story of the game and characters.

So after you've played Radiant Dawn be sure to play Tharcia 776 for a real challenge.

Edit: Also I voted for Radiant Dawn, you will know my pain of constantly having Michiah killed because of A.I bull**** in Radiant Dawn.

Ryu had pretty bare demand for the most part.
He's certain popular within his franchise, but from my time with pre-Smash 4 speculation, he's barely mentioned.
People wanted Megaman more then him, and they thought they could only get one Capcom rep. Add that to the "no fighting game characters" rule and people pretty much thought he was impossible. No reason to talk about the impossible.

I guess they just wanted to be consistent since Pit's current design is his Uprising look.

Maybe he would've been more popular if that "no fighting game characters" misquote wasn't around.
When you think about it, that issue only arose because of a language barrier. As such, I doubt japanese fans misinterpreted him so it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Japanese fans actually did demand Ryu.

The comment originated from an England-based publication, GamesTM. As such the "no fighting game" character quote might have been translated INTO Japanese (out of context), but I'm still investigating if it was well known enough to have affected ballot votes.

>Radiant Dawn isn't that hard.
>AI bull**** doesn't kill Micaiah, your bad positioning does.
>Hard mode needs to be unlocked.
>Thracia is a fake challenge; that is, its challenge comes from bs mechanics like fatigue and forcing capture to be used for resources.

ESRB Leak was intense, I still remember that. I got so caught up in all the hype, getting Shulk confirmed was the best part about it though.
Shulk and Duck Hunt Duo were the biggest surprises. Honestly, I don't think anyone expected Duck Hunt to be playable, maybe at least an assist trophy. Great surprise though.

Huh. I was under the impression that the magazine misquoted him (perhaps language barrier wasn't the right term), but it seems due to the formatting of the interview....I didnt realize that. Good to know.

Shulk wasn't all that much of a surprise. I spent a while searching through the pits of GameFAQs to find this, but here's a small analysis I wrote up on Shulk back in about July last year.
Basically, this Smash is obviously showing it wants to rep new series, that's why we have characters like Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Little Mac. Pac-Man and Megaman also but they're third party so they might not count.

Anyways, there's ONE character I'd like to focus on, and that's Wii Fit Trainer, more specifically, the series he/she comes from, Wii Fit. Wii Fit was originally shown as the Wii Health Pack in 2006. Xenoblade's development started in 2005. So, they started development about 4-6 months or so apart.

Unlike Wii Fit Trainer, Shulk is one of the most requested characters IN THE WORLD. I'm not even kidding. He's the most requested character from an unrepresented series in Japan (http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/64873505), and he gets a good amount of mentions here too.

Shulk's series is one Nintendo is definitely promoting. Hence X's name change from X to Xenoblade Chronicles: X. Putting Shulk in this game would be free advertising for the entire Xenoblade series.

Sakurai has shown he's a fan of Xenoblade in the past. In fact, he's actually tweeted a photo of the Monado! He also happens to be friends with the wife of the director of Xenoblade Chronicles. Also, Monolith Soft has been a huge developer for Nintendo recently, and even helped make Brawl.

Now, one of the biggest arguments against Shulk is that "he's another generic animu swordsman", however, this is only wrong. Shulk has the potential to be one of the most unique characters in the roster, and uniqueness is obviously something Sakurai is shooting for, he even said, "“The biggest feature we look at in Smash Bros. is, ‘What does this character bring to Smash Bros. that other characters don’t?’" Shulk could bring 3 unique move sets to Smash Bros.

Shulk could have a moveset revolving around Break->Topple->Daze, which was a pretty big mechanic in the game.

Shulk could have Buff-based moveset, considering he was an offensive-support character in Xenoblade. Monado Enchant could boost his damage, Monado Speed could make his movement faster, and Monado Shield could reduce the amount of damage he takes for a while.

Shulk could also have a moveset based on activating the Monado, once again a pretty big mechanic in Xenoblade.
Someone even made a moveset for this. (http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/69674104)

So, yes, I think Shulk will be in Smash Bros. He's an obvious choice, just like Palutena, Little Mac, and Megaman.

TL;DR Yes, I think Shulk will be in Smash Bros.

Have you played Radiant Dawn on hard mode? It will break you.
And no it isn't because of my positioning, it's because Michaih can't take a hit for ****
Also Anna abandoned me in Radiant Dawn and the RNG kept screwing me, how could you forsake me lady Anna?
Just because you didn't like the mechanics in Tharcia 776 doesn't mean it was fake challenge, having those mechanics there are supposed to make you think more strategically, which is what your supposed to do in a Strategy RPG.

But if your positioning was good, Micaiah wouldn't need to take a hit...

Michiah is your lord you need to get her to level cause she's going to need levels cause she''s mandatory for most chapters. And I'll say the RNG can screw you, the amount of times Michiah would've been fine if she had just hit her target T_T

I saw that Swamp hasn't played FE7. I am disappoint
Also that Fates had everyone's age raised to 18. I'm curious how heavily censored it'll get
That's actually a common practice in most censorship of Eastern Media.
