Doesn't help Naughty Dog no longer wants to make those kind of games either. Seriously, why do companies tend to do this?
It's the difference between being a creator and a fan. A creator has to spend maybe years of their life making something and will grow sick of it faster than fans show only take in a few hours, depending on what's being created.

I'm talking about companies no longer doing what made them famous in the first place, Capcom with their classics, SE with traditional JRPGS and such. SE did say they realized they were wrong, but again, Jim Sterling said it best, the sales were just fine, so why don't companies think it'll work? RIP Spyro regardless, second favourite purple dragon in gaming
Nintendo does.

If you think about it, Crash and Spyro had eerily similar fates. Doesn't help that they're owned by the same company...

He's not working on SFZ, he never was. There are various Platinum members working on it but Kamiya isn't.

He's still working on Scalebound and he doesn't work with other games.

Just like with Bayonetta 2, he was never part of it due to working on W101 and Scalebound. He isn't in charge of every Platinum game.

*see Metal Gear Rising*
I remember him tweeting about it, but I guess that had no actual relevance. Good to know.

You don't get to say that when most games these days are shooters/ Survival 'horror'
Nintendo does.
Nintendo's one of the few exceptions, yes, but most companies are very dull in this regard

Ehhhh, Spyro's much better off than Crash.

He's still got Skylanders, even if he was immediately booted from the spotlight as soon as it became popular enough to stand on its own.

Crash has absolutely nothing.

I honestly think most of theses Indie devs know their characters have no chance of actually being in Smash, so it's not like they're legitimately begging for their character to get in or anything. They just see the ballot as an opportunity for free publicity, and if their main purpose is to raise awareness for their series.... Then it's working. Honestly, if you have an indie title on a Nintendo platform, you would be dumb to not milk this for all it's worth.

The fact that he's essentially considered dead in his own series says a lot.

So, when should we expect Crash to become a Skylander? :troll:
In all seriousness, I'm surprised that hasn't been done by now. If Activision can't figure out what else to do with him, then they might as well. I'd still prefer if he got a new game of his own, though.

You don't get to say that
I'm currently dealing with writers block for a scene in my web comic that no one will remember but is important for the narrative to continue. Time invested: about 2 weeks. Time taken to consume: minute tops.

Don't tell me what I can't say.

No matter what you say about Nintendo. Not even they can keep all their IP's Alive.
:4falcon: Poor Sod. I would love to have GX/ AX come back to life. Even a HD re-master of it on Wii U to test the waters.
Remember how the Burnout guys said no to working on F-Zero? It's kinda funny, most companies want others to touch their toys while it's the other way around for them

Except he's not.

He's playable in every installment. All that changed is that his name's not in the title anymore. Losing your poster boy status doesn't make you "dead".

If it does, people should probably stop suggesting that Isaac be put into Smash, because his role in the Golden Sun series got less significant in each subsequent game.

What I don't understand about Spyro and Skylanders is how he can't both be a Skylander and have his own game?

fitting avi I guess.
I could have worded that better actually, my point was that your argument didn't work due to a circumstance

Because Activision is filled with morons

Okay, he's not dead, but it's quite clear that he's not going to be considered a real priority anytime soon. Him being playable doesn't change the fact that they pushed him aside for their original Skylanders.

There's no reason why he can't. Rayman launched the Rabbids series the same way Spyro did Skylanders. Rayman eventually split off from them and got his series back.

I don't think there's anything stopping them from making a new Spyro game. Skylanders is just more profitable, so they're putting all their effort into it.

Right, that's what I said.

Being a secondary character >>>>> Not being in any game at all.

He still appears even if he lost his poster-boy status. Crash, meanwhile, is currently decomposing in the 90's Mascot graveyard next to Bubsy and Awesome Possum.

Still one of my favourite versions of Mute City.
Yeah but Nintendo at least recognizes them and will give them that light on occasions. Compared to other companies where they would forget and sit on the IPs. Now Nintendo isn't perfect but they are better than most other companies and even Sega and Capcom at least acknowledge those franchises.

Companies like Activision are probably leary in releasing games like that as they probably don't see it as doing well (or they think they can't make a quick buck off the franchise.)

Crash may be rotting right now, but at least he began rotting much later than Bubsy did.

And his last non-mobile games were passable.

Honestly, considering his last few games, that's probably for the best...

Crash's games are horribly dated now though. Borderline unplayable. Spyro's old games are about passable.

That's implying Bubsy was good to begin with
How am I implying Bubsy was good in any way? Bubsy rotted early because it was a heap of garbage that somehow kept going for several years. Crash is rotting because of decaying quality and lack of games in recent years.
