Only Mii Fighter and Stages. Nothing else confirmed. K Rool chances? A little bit lower now but not by much. Still think he's pretty likely. Maybe I'm right and we will get only 2 new fighters and the rest of the ballot characters will be Mii Fighter costumes

Well I am glad that Chrom's outfit is available in the game. I'm totally going to make a Chrom character. Though I must admit, there are no good female costumes for the Mii Swordsman. They are all male-centric.

K. Rool as a Mii Costume? That's not a good sign. Of course there is the Link Mii Costume... but that's still Bad News for DK fans. I wanted him in over Dixie Kong too.

Tourney mode is coming out finally. Sweet. I hope it delivers on everything.

The Smash Sweatsuit costume is decent. I'll pick it up as I main Mii Swordsman and like playing Mii Brawler and Mii Gunner.

TL;DR K. Rool costume is rough, I felt the same feeling about Shulk when Takamaru was announced as an AT, it sucks. While a tough blow, K. Rool isn't directly deconfirmed. Despite bias and nostalgia, can K. Rool be unique? And will he sell to the common consumer? Is he big enough to headline a DLC pack like Mewtwo and Ryu? IDK, how can he be unique and fun, I want to know. Even if he doesn't get in, this game brought us together blah blah blah.

So, this is the only way I will get Chrom. I'm honestly shocked it took this long to get this Mii costume and it will be the first one I actually buy. Finally.

A lot of people are saying this, but Link is already in the game. Not to mention he's one of Nintendo's most popular and well-known characters. King K. Rool's situation is most comparable to that of the Inklings, KK Slider, Chrom, Protoman, etc. in that they're all characters who are Mii Fighter Costumes but they're characters that aren't in the game.

Also, I've come to the reason why K. Rool is a Mii Fighter over a Mii Gunner.

I honestly disagree. This makes so much sense.

If he's coming as a character later, they can capitalize on both. It's mind games. If you think he's not coming, maybe you're more likely to buy his Mii costumes. Then you'll get both. Not everyone buys the bundles. I don't.

Most sales of the DLC comes almost immediately after release, I'm sure of it. No one will buy the costume if it comes out second to the fighter.

Honestly surprised you didn't mention the Spin-y dash attack for Chrom's side-B. He uses it in the cutscene where he fights "Marth" in Arena Ferox.

And to finish on the topic of Mii Fighter costumes, I'm kind of hoping for a Ray MK costume, I think that'd be super cool. A Lloyd Irving costume would be cool too.

Point 2: Comparisons between Melee and supposed 3DS stage reveal different things.

The mountains are different and the water texture is dramatically different. These are clearly not carbon copies of one another.

The lines are blue. Initially, I and others believe this is evidence of a photoshop job. Moreover, @KenithTheGatherer points out that he appears to be mid-spin without an attack trail. I start to write the leak off at this point, but just to be safe, I boot up the 3DS and begin tests.

A: Test character outlines. I discover a few things. When paused, outlines thin out significantly, and the blue outline in particular can blend into bright/blue backgrounds. The thickness of the lines when paused seem to have no noticeable difference with minimal or no lines at all. It's all the same for team-colored lines as far as I could tell, meaning the blue outline seen above is most likely the team line.

(Max thickness, paused, team mode, blue, Battlefield Omega.)

B: As for the spin-attack trail not being present, there are frames in which this appears to occur in the 3DS version. I managed to nearly perfectly replicate this in just a few tries:

Oh yeah. I forgot about that Side B. Mostly because it's so easy to SD with it and the reward isn't worth it. So I barely use that side special. But dang. You are right. He does use that move. Guess he's getting that skill. XD

I'm also glad that Mii Costumes are a thing.

I also hope Mii Fighters can be used in Tourney mode. I want them to be allowed online too at this point. Just name them all "MII" and let us use them against people. Miis are usable in Mario Kart 8 online.

I'd love a Ray MK costume but I'd REALLY LOVE a Lloyd Irving Costume. But how would they handle him using two Swords? If they can figure that out, I'd make sure to buy it. Immediately.

My dream for Smash Bros Wii U/3DS is for them to add a "Yellow Wrench" option. "Green Wrench" means Custom Characters, Movesets, etc are on and "Red Wrench" means they are off. But I want a "Yellow Wrench" for the middle: where custom MOVES can be used but not custom gear. I think that would help A LOT. And then allow people to play online (For Glory) under Yellow Wrench rules (which would also allow Miis in hopefully). I can only play certain characters with their custom moves (Ganondorf, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Charizard) and even if I play alone, I can't play against random CPU's because they'll have on custom stat modifiers and I won't. So yeah, my vote for a yellow wrench which is totally off topic but very much wanted by me (and anyone who likes to play tourney style with custom special moves).

Also, ouch.... I'd hate to see the K. Rool support thread now...

Although I had a feeling they would probably use the Mii Fighter costumes as some sort of compensation in order to include as many ballot characters as possible and that it wouldn't necessarily be whoever is the highest voted becomes guaranteed playable. They did treat it as a suggestion box for the most part after all. Sakurai, his team and probably Nintendo themselves still have the final say in the end.....

Still though. As a King K Rool supporter myself, it is quite a shame to see him show up as just a costume. Hopefully he does show up in the next Smash as I believe they also said they would consider the votes for future games if I recall correctly.....
