If this actually does deconfirm K.Rool, then we know that Nintendo has the final say over who gets in due to the ballot. K. Rool would have to have been in the Top 3.

If that were the case Nintendo might have well just told Sakurai who to include. I don't see the point in them holding a ballot if they were just going to reject characters they didn't want (aside from some 3rd party characters because rights/negotiations and whatnot).

Dixie is literally the best we can all hope for, but Sakurai seems to be so indifferent to DK. I have a feeling that future DLC is going to be crushingly disappointing. I'm already not exactly thrilled with 2 or the 4 choices they made.

I wake up to some good news that Tatum has dropped out of Gambit. Then get blasted with this . I didn't think of K. Rool as likely, but a disconfirmation like this is extremely devastating for me.

Chrom seems like a perfect fit, but even as a non-K.Rool fan that costume is all feels. I'm sorry but it just doesn't look right IMO.

The ballot was more akin to a suggestion box and people were putting too much faith on it, I'm pretty sure Nintendo has the final say in the end and this confirms it.

I can see a large organisation doing exactly that. It's a free survey from all of their fans. There are no terms and conditions listed anywhere. They might have had the 'ballot' characters picked out months ago for all we know.

Though really I can't see why collecting that data and including the most popular characters have to be mutually exclusive. Nintendo should be doing both to get the most benefit. They get a look at what's in demand from different demographics and a majority of fans are pleased.

I can't wait for the stages. Not only do I love the Smash 64 stages (even though Peach's my least favorite, but still great!), but there's going to be more music~! Really happy they're coming out in a few days.
