I may have liked both Radiant Dawn and Awakening, but I know that Radiant Dawn is superior in many aspects.

Radiant Dawn has better story, better written characters and more strategic gameplay.

Awakening isn't bad and actually introduced some neat concepts and a lot of the new classes brought freshness to the game, but in other aspects, it was a step down from Radiant Dawn. Aside a few exceptions, a good bunch of the characters were just one-dimensional walking anime character archetypes. There were few characters to actually have development.

Admittedly, I also like some anime that clearly has otaku pandering with fanservice and shallow characters, but I can't say I appreciate those anime as much as I did to others where there are actual characters, no fanservice bull**** and had an engaging storyline (Parasyte, Death Note, FMA Brotherhood...).

An analogy would be comparing fast-food, which is cheap and you can eat quickly in your break, but lacks flavor, to actual food, traditionally-made and with flavor, but more expensive.

This is pretty much my stance in regards to anime nowadays. There's the cheap otaku-pandering stuff that I can find entertaining, but doesn't have much impact, and there are the masterpieces that have quality storylines and have emotional impact in the viewer.

The quote is false, but he has said similar things. I actually edited my post to best reflect that.
I can understand some of the complaints from Awakening while just not understanding others:
The game looks too anime: Literally every game in the franchise uses an "anime" artstyle
Too easy: This comes mostly from the fact that Pair Up destroys any strategical placement that would be needed and makes it become "pick your strongest unit and go crazy"
Fake difficulty: In Lunatic mode, it turns FE into "Down-B: The Game"
The Story: I dunno, I tried playing Rekka no Ken and they tried to throw as much exposition as possible as soon as I finished the second chapter. Awakening had a good pace overall and I felt the story was well written, though I didn't play other FE games, so it may be in comparison to others
Fanservice: There are 3 maps dedicated to it, yup!
Also, most playable characters don't get any character development outside of supports

next smashified is bomberman from the looks of it.

Twitter background is bomberman-esque right?
dissapointed it is another 3rd party
Didn't they say the character wasn't a silent protagonist? I don't know much about Bomberman but I don't think he has any dialogue

Oh yes it can. We can send it back to the dead where it belongs
Too lazy to edit the post, sorry. :troll:

Another third party? So out of the current 9 Smashified characters, there are only 2 Nintendo characters. Wow.
I've said this before, but unlike some Nintendo characters, third parties don't really have a high chance of making it into Smash. It makes sense that they would give these characters a new render since Smash probably never will.

Though, it's worth noting that Bomberman was one of the first characters Omni made a render for in the Brawl days.

I know, but it would still be nice to see some Nintendo characters for a change. But you may be right, we might see more of them after all popular third parties have been Smashified.

Since I saw people discussing it awhile back, I'm in the middle of playing through EarthBound Beginnings on VC. My only time having played it before was in the Mother 1+2 English translation patch, so this is my first time playing it without the "Easy Ring". As it stands, I'm really enjoying it, although it is pretty grind-heavy, not that that's ever stopped me from enjoying the series before. However, the random encounters and run away mechanics (your only options are a 50-50 run or a 90%-ish one that costs 16 PP, both of which only activate on the user's turn, so I avoid them both if I can possibly tough it out) are definitely starting to get me potentially a little over-leveled (is level 19+16 typical for Duncan's Factory?). As a result, there hasn't been anything terribly difficult yet (although the bosses I've faced thus far definitely had a ton more attack power than I was expecting), but that'll probably change in the near future. If you can get yourself in the 80's RPG mindset (or if you're me and pretty easily able to lapse into that mode anyway), I strongly recommend it, otherwise I'd say the sequels are probably more your speed.

All that said, and even though Beginnings is my favorite game in the series, Ninten has absolutely no business being in Smash at this point.

I think Ninten's chances are really low/practically non-existant (for Smash 5 and 4 DLC) but using his design against him is kinda dumb at this point when we got characters like Roy getting completely redesigned exclusively for Smash.

Ninten's problem is pretty much the same as Chrom. Much like how Chrom overlapped with Marth and Ike, Ninten overlaps with Ness and Lucas.

His best shot would be as a Ness clone/alt costume. There's precedent of characters being added as alts for veterans, such as Alph (and what Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina were at one point in development).

This thread was advertised in the new OP for the character boards official DLC thread. we may get new members. Or we wont.

None of us are moving.
Well, given this is a Social Thread, and people mostly speculate here, I don't see why they wouldn't.

That's not entirely true. Roy's design resembles his Binding Blade and Awakening artwork
It is a new design, even though it does borrow elements from his Binding Blade and Awakening DLC designs.

It's basically a mix of Binding Blade, Awakening and some elements not found in his previous two designs.

(Not counting Melee's design because it's pretty much the Binding Blade design with some extra details added.)

Probably not. another thread is there but it will be more strict rule-wise. people might just see the convenient advertisement and come over.

people arent being forcefully moved though.
I've got a shield.

They won't be able to breach our defenses with it. I think we'll be perfectly just fine :troll:.

Keyword being resembles. His Smash design takes elements from his original design, his Awakening design and Eliwood's, yeah. But at the end of the day, his design is brand new.

If Sakurai for whatever reason decided Ninten should be in Smash, he could use his look from the Mother commercials as it's a different one.

That being said, he has a lot of hurdles to cross if he were ever to playable but I think @ Frostwraith Frostwraith over there summed up his problem pretty well. Mother being very niche doesn't help it either.

I actually think Ninten is in a more favorable position than Chrom.

Ninten, much like Alph or Lucina, is more easily made as an alt or clone of Ness due to similar body proportions and fighting style.

His chance is if Sakurai decides to make more alt characters in the future.

Chrom has another issue. Sakurai doesn't see him as clone/alt material, but as a unique character who just didn't stand out as much Robin did in comparison to Marth and Ike. What's more is that Chrom's style is a middle point between Marth's fast, graceful style and Ike's slower, blunt style. Chrom as a Marth/Ike clone wouldn't sit well.

Wait a minute.

That tweet says Smashified #9.

And boom. Like something exploding in someone's face.

It's not Bomberman, it's Beck!

Darn it, Inafune won't stop with this!

So it's come to my attention that most people are not aware of the Super Mario Advanced 4 E-Reader levels.

These are over 30 of the most innovative levels that Nintendo has ever created in a 2D Mario game, and is particularly note worthy for mixing elements of Super Mario Bros 2 (USA and Japan) and Super Mario World into Super Mario Bros. 3.

These are the best! I had the full US set at one point, but 14-year old me decided to sell the cards to make a quick buck. They probably go for about ten times what I got them for originally, I'll bet. Prior to Super Mario Maker, this was also the only other appearance of the Cape Feather (and its use of the Boomerang item predates 3D Land by over half a decade).

Come to think of it, this was pretty much Super Mario Maker before Super Mario Maker was a thing.

So, I've been thinking about how to plan my Source Gaming article recently. While thinking about it, I realized this is the first time I'm doing an article of any kind. The article I was planning on doing was suppose to be relatively big in size and be split up into multiple parts. With my lack of experience, I don't think I can deliver the type of quality that the Source Gaming team delivers. So instead, I'm going to start off my first article very small and make sure to plan it out well in order to present to the staff.

If approved, its only going to be at least one part. It is mainly going to cover Alph (alternate costume for Olimar) and my theory surrounding his inclusion in Smash 4. Now since Source Gaming is trying to get away from opinionated articles, I have other back-up ideas in mind as well just in case it doesn't go through.

I still plan to do my original project (which I'm still keeping a secret :)), but I feel the need to take baby steps and hopefully become a better writer. Getting a smaller article done will help me on how the process goes and hopefully bring you guys more quality content in the future. I give no guarantee on when I'm going to get this done, but I will say it will probably come relatively soon.

I hope Mario Maker DLC or future Mario Maker games incorporate most of the items/gimmicks from these levels.

This is why social media just baffles me. Hungrybox never did anything wrong to warrant that. He may have camped, but only due to Armada's lasers. And it is all over a video game meant to be fun and played in any manor.
In my opinion, people who gave H-Box **** should of been able to beat him, he found a way to beat them. So if they were go players like they claim they should of been able to punish him.

Sorry for the potato quality. I'm bad at making cakes, especially virtual ones.
