Ah, I see, I'm kinda more of a "do it in practice" kind of learner. That said if a game doesn't come out eventually I'll learn it.

Is it a fun mechanic or is the game better without it?
Fun mechanic, but it also is a major change. It affects the game pretty hugely, especially Synchro players the most.

Basically, the zone of where a monster is, or even a spell/trap is can matter now. But yeah. Konami has videos on their website too(yugioh-card.com), and the structure deck(s) give you a nice rundown. A lot of cards got immensely stronger too, since tokens can be turned into a Link monster. Even Blackwing - Gofu The Vague Shadow eventually got banned due to the advantage it gives(and other cards it can go into, like Cryston Needlefiber).

I can't believe I'm reminiscing about a video game that's 10 years old right now.

At the same time, I can't believe the game in question is 10 years old.

Maybe I really am Grunkle Phantom.....

Everytime I see Shiny and FEH together, I can't help but think he gets possessed by a "pro-player" every time he plays when trying to do "top-tier" teams.

On the topic of Fire Emblem Heroes, Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword's anniversary is in 4 days.

Any particular characters from it any of you guys would like to see in Heroes?
Can I say all of them? All of them.

I suppose Heath, Pent, and Louise. Kalra would also be niftly since all her other family members are in the game.

You know, sometimes I just find it incredibly weird and perplexing that Etrian Odyssey has its own equivalent of Saberfaces and that Shishou is basically just a Mysterious Heroine X at this point.
The images in question were made as a response to Fortress's absence from EOX

And, like, you may all think I'm exaggerating but
The original

EDIT: wait why were those considered innapropriate?

Wait did you name yourself Mystery?
In Red++, you can Wonder Trade. How it works (I'm assuming) is that it calculates the level of what you traded and the Pokémon and it gives you. Any Pokémon you receive's ID is MYSTERY.

I got this Shiny Murkrow after a couple trades.

Yeah that's what I though hah.

He's also part of the only Escort Mission in the game.

That's a cardinal sin in video games. (see: Ashley in RE4)

Not inherently true. They're often bad, yes. The one in Lagoon is actually pretty good. Albeit, the game still sucks in its own way, but the escort cannot be hurt. Worst thing to deal with is him being... slow. But that's less worrisome when you're basically slashing enemies with a toothpick(that's how bad the hitbox issues are. At the very least, your shield is amazingly good?).

That said, at least the game looks and sounds beautiful. Now if only the gameplay was more balanced...

He provides nothing to the Goron arc and his character arc is simply generic and overdone, and there's no development from it, he just magically gets braver after you finish the quest.
Not to mention the Divine Beast fight where he accompanies you is a slog, a ****ing escort mission and he's only a liability in it, while all other Beast fights are epic showdowns with the respective Champion descendent actually assisting you.

Except for Teba.

Teba's not related to Revali in any way.

But getting into Vah Medoh is so darn epic that I can forgive it.

Name me how Teba, Riju and Sidon change over the course of the story.

I'll wait.

Sidon doesn't change at all, but we see some hidden dephts concerning how much he truly misses his sister Mipha.

Riju manages to overcome the pressure being being a chief and now wears the title with pride rather than being afraid to not meet her people's demands. (or at least, that's how I see it)

Teba... you got me there.

You basically used headcannon, and "hidden depths" that were obvious and just a character trait to argue against me.

Yunobo is about as deep as any of these people.

Heck I could go on about how he respects his heritage and ancestry and say that's hidden depths as well..

Fair enough.

But either way, it's pretty darn obvious that storytelling isn't exactly the strongest point of the game.

Ganon in particular got shafted HARD, being basically just a background name until you get to the final battle.

Wasn't Teba Raviolli's grandson or am I remembering it wrong?

You'll wait plenty of time because they don't and that's not really the point I'm making.
Those three actually provide something to the story and have unique characters(except Teba since he's barely there but at least he's innoffensive and provides a nice contrast to Raviolli). Yunobo is just the "I'm scared! But now I'm not!" character arc that's been done to death and this time it isn't even entertaining or cool because a) we have no reason to care about him and b) he doesn't really change, we're just told he did.

Except his fear never really prevented him from doing anything. He still went and did stuff even if scared.

It was never debilitating and I think that's a cool thing that's a nice aspect about him.

He's a much more realistic version of the trope.

We can see him be less of a coward, actually...

...but you gotta pay $20 for the DLC to see it. And seeing more Yunobo is definitely not the reason anyone buys the DLC.

Not to mention it's literally just one moment of dialogue that is completely unrelated to Yunobo, but rather hinting at Daruk's diary training journal.
