I'm actually the opposite on the matter, but only on one condition; the unit has to be fast enough to make it worth using Desperation.I don't really like just sticking Fury on stuff and calling it a day since it's kind of boring, but sometimes it just really is the best option.
That way, if my unit is too stronk and never gets hit, I can still abuse the recoil to get into Desperation range.
Of course, there are some cases where I use a skill other than Desperation, like Ryoma with Vantage, but it's still my general rule for using Fury.
Otherwise, I won't bother because it's usually not worth it.
I use that strategy all the time with Blade tome VaLyntine and it works superbly well.
