Xenoblade chronicles 2 = Final Fantasy VII lol
Mor Ardain = Midgar with a lot of sand...

Now I want a core chip that can change Pandoria's sword into Cloud's buster sword lol.
Most of you may know Final Fantasy VII plays an important role in creating the Xeno series.

One of the few XCX music that people don't think it's annoying lol.
Eh.

The NLA stuff was a bit awkward at first, and the standard battle music was mostly a hot mess, but the rest never really struck me as bad. Environmental music varied between pretty solid to pretty great, and the boss and skell flight themes were legit.

What I really miss though was the actual flight. That kind of go-mostly-anywhere-in-a-giant-whoop-ass-machine freedom. Obviously it was a long, long, long time coming, but man was it fun when it got there.

And, coincidence, XC2 is the seventh game in the Xeno- meta series.
Hohoho, true.
Until... we really get Xenoblade Chronicles 7...lol
And yes, I change my avatar from Pyra to Ohayou Nia... because... Nia is good.

And just check a forum on uh... Resetera... which they discuss which JRPG of 2017 has better cast and characters...
https://www.resetera.com/threads/wh...ria-xenoblade-chroncles-2-or-persona-5.15469/

Before checking, I didn't think that most people will choose XC2 because of how bad of some character's VA were... and how Pyra's design and the anime aesthetic of XC2 is (Which in my opinion, this is playing DD standard since P5 and ToB are animesque too....)

But to my a bit surprise... plenty of people choose XC2 having a better cast, and most of these are those who actually have played XC2 and the either other two of the games...

And those who prefer P5 or ToB either never played XC2... or just being bias... and a few have a long explanation but even those comments were bias and incorrect as well.

For me I can't say anything much about P5 and ToB when it comes to the cast, I actually think the two game's characters look way more attracting than XC2.
Here are some comments from the website that choose XC2:
Persona 5 were totally uninteresting to me so XC 2 for Zekenator I guess
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 by far

I haven't played Berseria, but got platinum on P5 and 100%'d XC2
That such a question can be asked, and just about every answer be celebrated, is really great for these games in 2017.

At first glance the P5 cast looks like it is "Now You See Me" High School with Brad Shoemaker of Giant Bomb.

At first glance the Berseria cast looks like a few vampires are raising two girls and have a nanny dressed up as a sleepy court jester.

At first glance the Xenoblade cast is the weirdest with a boob girl, a cat lady, a tiger, a fluffy thing with a drill, and a kid with a pet/mascot.

Having only played XC2, that will have to be my answer - but it is totally earned. Like someone said above about another game - they found a way to have a stereotypical jrpg kid and mascot, amongst the other weirdness mentioned above - but all with great voice acting and decent writing, without them driving you crazy.
Hmm..

Tales of Berseria's cast is legitimately great. Hell, it might be my favorite Tales of... cast in the entire franchise. Them being painted as the "villains" really went a long way in terms of character development and growth.

Persona 5's cast is well... not very good as an ensemble IMO. Their group dynamic never really worked for me and there was no real growth as a group.

Xenoblade 2's cast felt like they grew to be friends by the end of their tale. The last game I felt like this with was Persona 3 and before that Final Fantasy IX. My biggest problem I guess is that I felt they never fully explored the relationship between Drivers and Blades in a way that put strain on the overall team.

What's weird is, despite me liking Berseria and XC2's overall cast more than P5, I missed the individuals of P5 more by the end.
Having played and beaten all three, I’d rank them. Xenoblade 2 > Tales of Berseria >>>>>>>>Persona 5
There really isn't a solid answer on which game has the best cast and characters...But I will say this, by looking at Tales of Berseria... I hope there future Xenoblade Chronicles will have a female main protagonist someday... and a bada** one. Don't care if she will be sexualized like Velvet...
The NLA stuff was a bit awkward at first, and the standard battle music was mostly a hot mess, but the rest never really struck me as bad. Environmental music varied between pretty solid to pretty great, and the boss and skell flight themes were legit.
Battle isn't a hot mess once you listen to a even more... it will be cringy at first... but man I like Black Tar than XC and XC2's regular battle theme... expect XC's "Mechanical Rhythm" and XC2's "Still, Move Forward!"

Battle isn't a hot mess once you listen to a even more... it will be cringy at first... but man I like Black Tar than XC and XC2's regular battle theme... expect XC's "Mechanical Rhythm" and XC2's "Still, Move Forward!"
Black Tar's one of those I personally would've probably appreciated more as an infrequent instrumental, in a fight long enough to hear more than the first 65-75 seconds, or - possibly best yet - just listening to it independent of the game.

The vocals are by no means HUP HYEEE-UH levels of needing to build up tolerance, it's just that most fights seemed to last just long enough to let me know that I was STUCK ON A WHOLE DIFFERENT PLAAAAANET and then the shrug of the moment was dead, so I couldn't appreciate the rest of the song.

Plus the lyrical shift is a bit jarring to me, personally. Could just be how my brain works; I kind of need to know if I'm going to be dealing with lyrics at the onset or not. Black Tar builds up a whole badass instrumental section for nearly a full minute before letting me know, at which point I'm **** deep in some kind of tactical consideration, trying to position myself as best I can, or looking for the nearest exit when suddenly NOT EVEN A DISTANT LAND WE'RE STUCK ON A WHOLE DIFFERENT PLAAAAANET. Then I get to juggle trying to figure out what he's saying with everything else, because I can tune out lyrics for a melody, but with a rap all I really get is a cadence, so I latch onto it in the same way I would conversation, and by the time you've finished this sentence I will either be running like hell or something on Mira will be halfway to ****ting me out.

See what I'm on, here?

Doesn't help that at 1:10 while Black Tar's just getting its first verse ready Uncontrollable's knocking that **** outta the park.

If there's candy in your caravan, I'll gladly get inside it.

... Unless I'm too late?
There is not.

You are not too late to be entered.

You are too late to escape. Welcome aboard!

Imagine living in a world where Nintendo was kind to us and gave us a direct to put us out of our misery.

Imagine a world where at least Sakurai made little tweets or something instead of announcing a game, breaking the internet, posting a reaction video going ''Teehee look what I did." and then ****ing off into the nether-sphere until E3.

Imagine a world where at least we got veterans to tide us over. Not even gameplay of the veterans. Just a picture or silhouette or something.

Black Tar's one of those I personally would've probably appreciated more as an infrequent instrumental, in a fight long enough to hear more than the first 65-75 seconds, or - possibly best yet - just listening to it independent of the game.
Well... I can't...

But I agree that Black Tar with lyrics can be a bit annoying to some...

You... don't need to understand the lyrics to appreciate the music lol... like I said I understand people are just bothered by lyrics in gaming musics... but hey, you got the internet and Youtube... checking the lyrics are easy peasy.

Hm... and since I finis XC2... I go back and watch the trailers...
Also the one I never watch... until now... and yeah, there are more spoilers in this trailer but...
If you think Nintendo is so bad for keeping endings under wrap then you are wrong...
The last part of this trailer where Pyra is getting hurt...I can only say... is a "cheeky spoiler"
I'm not gonna tell you what exactly had happened there lol.
Imagine living in a world where Nintendo was kind to us and gave us a direct to put us out of our misery.
They already did last month...
If you are talking about any specific game Nintendo Directs (Smash Bros Direct), then I somewhat agree, but I don't think it's necessary for now.

You... don't need to understand the lyrics to appreciate the music lol... like I said I understand people are just bothered by lyrics in gaming musics... but hey, you got the internet and Youtube... checking the lyrics are easy peasy.
Right, but the understanding isn't the point. He's not difficult to comprehend, and I don't mind lyrics in gaming music.

I have a related, but mostly different issue with it. The problem I have is that my brain just wants to divert power to doing so as soon as it hears him fire up.

And that's fine if it's early enough, it's just that this one has a whole musical phrase to deal with that seems to complete a whole musical thought, slow-rolling the buildup and everything, and then surprise it's just the lead-in to the first verse - no indication for a full minute that anyone's pipes are going to be on the track.

In Uncontrollable, they do a quick lead-in riff that ends with just enough tension that we're expecting the next part of the song, and by 29 seconds in, at the end of this riff, we've got vocals. Black Tar's lead in seems to end at the same spot, with it breaking into a full melody at 28 seconds, and then at 43 seconds it's dropped that off and has gone for another bridge, which then leads into vocals at 50 seconds.

Think of my brain processing these songs like a boulder rolling down a wide hill. Tactical processing is one direction, lyrical processing is another, and melodic processing is about halfway between.

Uncontrollable gives me both the suggestion that I may need to divert that boulder relatively early, and then lets me do so, and if I wish I can limit it to melodic processing and reach a nice halfway mark. The first time I heard Black Tar, my brain was already barreling down the Tactical path, when suddenly it was told it needed to go Lyrical, and there wasn't a happy halfway because as verse one comes in at 50 seconds the music drops out almost entirely.

You conflict my brain with music, it gets salty. It is a very petty brain, but it's mine.

I don't know for certain if anyone shares my thoughts on that. But that, alongside the repetition (which I suspect is what fatigues other users) is probably why I can both jam out to Black Tar on its own and want David Whitaker to clam up in-game.

Does the Banned Yard not have a treasure? :p
I assume that's part of the "in-progress" bit.

what Did I just wake up to?:233:
I restarted Dwarf Fortress.

Got six takers for a seven person caravan. Figure I should at least ask people if they want slot seven.

Freezing cold, lots of mining, enough alcohol to send lesser creatures into spasms, heinous amounts of traps, douchebag kobolds, douchier goblins, and piles and piles of rocks and glory. You in?

I don't man... I have listen to the music for years now... if I have chance to play XCX... I think I can get used to those music pretty fast when playing.

And for most of the time, I never care too much about the music when I am battling, especially when fighting against the superbosses.

Sorry Natz... I'm actually consisted of three circular windows. The idea of being two windows just sounds too predictable here. :p
So, if we broke one of the windows, would you be a window widow, or would a part of you just die?

I feel like I might be one of only two people in the world who actually wanted to get Nanna from this banner. I had to suffer three pity-breakers first, but I got her eventually. She is +res -atk, which is pretty decent for a staff unit. Plus one of the pity-breakers was an Elise, so I had Gravity+ and Live to Serve ready to go straight away too.

I also got Leif, but he is also -atk, which is much less desirable on him. Might feed him the brave Lyn I got as one of the other pity-breakers, for Swift Sparrow. Fury would be another option, and would work well with the S Drink in Tempest Trials and stuff. I don't really like just sticking Fury on stuff and calling it a day since it's kind of boring, but sometimes it just really is the best option.

Fun fact: Even though the S Drink skill is exclusive to Leif in Heroes, he's the only character in all of Thracia 776 who can never use the S Drink item. This is because the S Drink in Thracia 776 is used to reset a unit's Fatigue to 0 (Fatigue is an FE5-exclusive system which forces a character to sit out a map once they become fatigued), but Leif is the only unit in the game who is never affected by Fatigue, as he's the lord and as such is required to be deployed in every chapter. So it's kind of ironic that he gets the S Drink skill exclusively in Heroes.

Hope you like getting nothing but colourless orbs for the rest of the banner's duration. :p
