Despite the ARMS producer saying that the game isn't getting more major updates less than a week ago, we got an update a few minutes ago with more content.
It include more badges, a gallery mode, additions to Party Crash, and Tournament Mode.

I think I remember this part being announced months ago and the spoiler being groaned about by people back then.
Mario's already crossed over with Rabbids, I think that the fact that it's a movie contract at all is more worrisome than the fact that a given company deals in that kind of humor.
But I still want Nintendo's nerves to calm enough to branch out like this, so it's worth watching to see what happens.

While Mario movie is confirmed, I'm honestly not too worried with its possible outcome, Illumination or not. We know Nintendo won't allow a 1993 to happen again for starters.

But it's not Piccolo wearing clothes Chi-Chi gave him...out of Goku's closet. And Great Saiyaman is repping true justice. It'll be an even harder choice if Badman Vegeta is a lobby character too.

The price is alright, but Nintendo's online infrastructure still... isn't good. Or even decent sometimes.
I'm probably not paying for it unless I see some sort of significant change.

With the playtime I put into Splatoon over the course of a year, it's probably worth it for me just for that.
Being able to briefly check out the online modes of everything else is just a fortunate bonus.
. . .I don't put that time in continuously, though. I've booted up Splatoon 2 every day this month, but it's been exclusively for Pit of the Day while Skyrim has been taking up my time. Skyrim soared past Breath of the Wild in terms of both playtime and personal investment for me, which considering how many hours a day I spent on BotW during the month I played that is. . .hoo boy.
It's probably a good thing, though, because I don't have any games that haven't already released that I'm super psyched for yet. I'm gonna need Skyrim and my barely played copies of XC2, Odyssey, and Forces to last me. Thank goodness SEGA changed their minds after the (pretty deserved, cmon' SEGA that would have been an awful precedent) backlash and made the Super Sonic DLC free permanently, if I hadn't forgotten to download it in time on my own Skyrim would have made me forget.
