I had a really weirdly vivid dream a couple of days ago about vampires from outer space taking over the world and establishing some kind of YA novel type dystopia where humanity was bla bla something illegal bla but honestly it had such weird details that I can't let it go
I mean, apparently among vampires there were some that had this "corrupted" blood or something, and there was like this council of twelve powerful vampires some of which had the corrupted blood and some didn't. And as the dream went on it kind of established there being this entire monster mash society with a few different races in it of varying documented "strengths," just with vampires as kind of the most common I guess? But they all lived in a YA near future metal-and-concrete type setting with heavy covert police presence etc.
Like IDK I'm just stuck on it.
I'm imagining from that premise an entire planet where -everyone- in a population of like a few million people is a YA novel bishie Divergent Games Runner vampire young adult to where part of the dystopian flair is that everyone has to either follow a curfew or at least put on hazmat type suits by a certain hour because unlike Twilight vampires they actually are harmed by the sun, it just causes extremely rapid sunburn instead of turning them to dust or anything like non-YA novel vampires because LOL grounded setting. And they all just live YA novel lives and have pretty perfect YA novel vampire babies that grow up into pretty perma-young adult YA novel characters.
And then humans and aliens from worlds where everything isn't bound by YA novel logic stumble across this planet via acceptably YA novel compatible interplanetary portal shenanigans and are just like "Are you frickin' serious LOL"
