Guys, I got this clearer view on the silhouettes from yesterday:

(Yoshi, Pit, Dk, Peach, Ness, Marth, Mario, Link, Sheik, Samus, Pikachu, Kirby, ZELDA, Bowser, Fox, Falcon, Wario)
Well... the style (at least for this) looks way less cartoonized than Smash 4. Pit looks way taller, Bowser is great too.
What lies below Dk/left from less/below Peach ? It seems like something not too big, but what ?

That's definitely not legit. Just someone's interpretation of the silhouettes.

What you're leaving out of the equation is the fact that some people want to deliberately UN-hype games or just piggyback for inane reasons. We've had people claim to have faked Pokemon that turned out to actually be real before.

Alternatively, it could just be hype getting to someone and them making an art thing based off of what they saw.

Well, I'm sure now that is not a clearer version of the silhouettes and just a interpretation. But a good one.
Since I'm the one who bring the image to begin with, I tried to take a closer look and found Dk hair completely different from the trailer. Also, Peach is not that clear in the flames. Good image anyway, This characters are completely shoo-in anyway, I hope we will see them clearly on E3 (at max).

Personally I think the character to the right of Samus looks more like Ike than Zelda. To me the cape and headband stick out. But, like, the PoR Ike, when he's less buffed, which is strange if they'd revert to that one so... idk.

Ultimately I don't believe any of these characters will be surprises, so it doesn't really matter...

A Smash game with 3D gameplay doesn't seem like something Sakurai would do. IIRC he even said (and don't quote me on this) that he'd rather not make that change. Though I suppose he could possibly change his mind.

That's never going to happen because it's the easiest way to alienate your entire fanbase.

If they went from the ground up, they wouldn't have hinted that they'd be using the Ballot for this because the roster would be about dead. Smash wouldn't be Smash without being 2D, anyway. 3D Smash would basically be Uprising's multiplayer with pinball physics. . .maybe not the best idea.

I do think he's likely to try new things in another way, though. He's stated that for all the intense amount of work handling a roster bigger than he thinks is practical puts him through, it also allows him to make more and more divergent movesets work. I imagine he'll try to do crazier things with both movesets and character designs, and we're already seeing hints of that with Inkling having possible ink management and some subtle firefly squid touches on the underside of their tentacles.

I think it's a new game, but it will take a lot of things from Smash4 and expand/work on it.
Custom moves will be reworked, the customization itself will be a thing (I'm hoping for new skins) and now they now that people buy Smash DLC from the start to end. But I don't think that gameplay-wise they would change that much.
I just want the ledges to be reverted back to pre-Smash4 days.
And if Ike is really thin again, it would be so cool. Not a fan of his design at Smash4.
Most of my friends preffer the PoR Ike. When the first CYL happened to FE Heroes, PoR Ike won.
Maybe is his regular model and there's a skin now from Radiant Dawn. I'm sure that traditional Link will be in the game, and I don't think they will have 3 different Links in the same game, so...

A new interview with Akira Toriyama that goes over his draft for the Tournament of Power is out. Translations here.

But to summarize:
- Quitela, Jiren, Toppo and Dyspo were designed by Toriyama
- Toriyama didn't have a personality yet for Jiren, so when Toei wanted to make him a talkative Superman-type character, Toriyama shot down that idea and instead the Superman-type character went to Toppo.
- Toppo being a GoD candidate was in Toriyama's initial draft.
- Toei and Toriyama were unsure what to do with Dyspo until they casted Bin Shimada to voice him, which gave him the cocky personality.
- The rest of the Pride Troopers were by Toei, which isn't surprising given how nothing they were.
- You can also infer the rest of the Universes were all Toei and not Toriyama.
- Ribrianne was designed by Toriyama, but Toei stepped in and gave her the weaker "ladylike" base form called Brianne de Chateau.
- Kale and Caulifla weren't in Toriyama's draft at all. Kale was conceived by Toei after Broly's popularity came up in a meeting, they made her a girl so she "wouldn't be exactly like Broly." (lul)
- Caulifla was designed by Toriyama after Toei staff showed him Kale.
- Universe 7's elminations were planned from the start.
- On that note, Buu being a bait and switch for Frieza was also planned from the start.
- Ultra Instinct was conceived in the middle of constructing the flow of the story. (of course lol)
- DB Super's producer believes Toriyama is setting up a continuation with Super's end.
- 131 apparently has a surprise at the end.

Stuff like this is quite facisnating and makes me wonder how much of this arc was Toriyama and how much of it was Toei filling the blanks. Actually, I question the same regarding the Future Trunks arc, especially since Zamasu ended up being one of my favorite antagonists in the series.

I really thought +90% of the ToP characters were made by Toriyama, at least Coliflora was made by him
