What? There's plenty of new bosses.

Rathalos, Lumen Sage/Balder, Dracula, Werewolf, King Bulblin, Marx, Ganon and the WoL bosses are all new.

The only ones returning from Brawl were Tabuu and Galleom, then there's the rest which is just regular Smash bosses the Hands and Giga Bowser.

Also no ultra necrozma honestly surprises me. I thought for sure he’d be one. He’s literally made of light too.

Despite the intense heartfelt desires from that fandom, I just can't bring myself to be all that interested in anyone from that franchise unless Sakurai went with a left field pick. But I can't argue with how much they'd at least be a character that earned it.

That said, I also don't think they have quite enough glitz and glam to be a five star crowd pleaser on the level of generic average gamers jumping up and down in excitement, which is why I'm kind of Press X to Doubt on that front.

Probably fair to tuck analysis, so.

While personally I think she has potential - a good example would be her appearance in Hyrule Warriors - it'll come down to how they handle her and want to differentiate her from Sheik.

We've known what a Sheikah warrior is capable of ever since Melee, but we've been kind of shafted in terms of the OG, which might pose a problem. Her biggest spotlight in the main series, combat-wise, was in Skyward Sword, and even there we only really got to see her throw a shield up against Ghirahim. The rest of her skills and exploits have, far as I'm aware, all been off-camera or implied.

That kind of sours me on the idea, but again, HW took it and ran with it, passing her a giant blade and a naginata and telling her to get to work. The latter seems more interesting than the former if they'd like to draw from anything.

It's why my current imaginary money is on Dovahkiin. Skyrim is stupid popular to the point el generico gamer would be hype at an inclusion, has a Switch release, and Bethesda seems into the idea. Steve fits about as well and also strikes me as likely-ish but it's just more fun to speculate the Dragonborn LOL.

For my part, I gotta admit, I still can't imagine Dovahkiin in at present. Regardless of Skyrim's popularity or Bethesda's support of the fledgling Switch, I can't see Ninty's higher-ups greenlighting it - and we know they were part of the talks for the full roster, DLC included.

Steve I see as a bit more possible, but I'm going back and forth. I'd pick Banjo and Kazooie if I had the option of a current Microsoft property in Smash, and Rare's influence during the N64 era is kind of hard to overstate, but Minecraft's influence on gaming as a whole is even harder to overstate, and both have deep wells of moveset potential. Kind of feel like it's going to be influenced by which way Ninty'd rather lean.

Frankly I like the furry better.

The fact that Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., of all series, got a full blown REMIX, when some series who have playable characters couldn't even get one? I'm beyond pleased! Henry Fleming joining the fight was always a tall order, but getting this sort of acknowledgment is more than I could've ever hoped for.

Also if we get a Bethesda rep. I feel like it’s gotta go to doom guy. He’s popular, basically the FPS father and would bring a fun moveset.

Of course handling his weapons would be hard. But if hes dlc I don’t think they would need to tone him down as that’s not gonna affect the rating. But they’d probably want to avoid it if they could just for future.

Either way this will probably be the last smash for awhile so I think they’d be fine if they wanted him. I’d certainly be interested in seeing what they do if he got in.

I've got a few questions. Been trying to peak into this data mine stuff but there's no cohesive place to get accurate information right now with exception of music rips which are all getting thrown up on YouTube, and there's so much potential for misinterpretation of certain pieces of info. It's kinda late so it's hard for me to keep up.

Also I legit didn't even want to look into this originally but I've been on a Spyro high and while searching for some Spyro stuff I thought I stepped into a datamine thread for the Reignited Trilogy but it was actually Smash so whoops.

Has there been confirmation that World of Light will have more than just copy-pasted Spirit Board Battles and a few bosses? Hearing things suggesting it might have some actual platforming stages as well as mini-games stages like Home Run Contest, which IMO would make it more appealing than what PR material suggests. People are saying Home Run Contest is definitely confirmed, but since it wasn't in any of the menu footage we've seen, I can only assume it means it's been integrated as a mini-game in World of Light and Classic Mode, an unlockable mode, or it's going to be a free update that they've put placeholder material in for.

And for the record, yeah I know about "World of Dark" and "World of Light & Dark" and the fact that all three maps have submaps and all of that. But that on its own just means "even more tedious fights and maybe some more cool bosses" which is just not really gonna change anything for me.

Also I found posts talking about potential DLC character hints based off of placeholder "series IDs" for the music files but I can't find the original source on that. I won't spoil the franchises in question (partly because I don't even know if this is one is legit) but I just wanna ask if anyone else saw something along those lines or if it's misinformation.
