To all of those saying "Bullying should come back because of this Fortnite dance!" are completely wrong.

I would rather have a million fortnite dances and dabs than bullying to increase.

I hate bullying a lot.
People are actually saying that?!? ...Excuse me, I need to go cool off...

I hope Detective Pikachu does well enough that they make a couple more.
Just at least not with that art style. It's ironic how the guy who did those super creepy realistic interpretations of Pokemon is doing the art, but at the same time I think he took too much reference from his own work. Realistic =/= More Appealing to Look At

I mean God, imagine if this was the same guy working for the Sonic live action movie.

I actually like the realistic art.

Fluffy Pikachu kills all arguments of the artstyle being bad. I actually care about it now.

The semi realistic style is the only way this movie could've worked.

I think if they had just put in "regular/cartoon looking" mons into the live action setting it would've clashed way too much with the Noir tone the film is setting.

I think they look pretty nice. Better than what I was expecting. I like the idea that they are realistic, but sticking to the original designs and having the facial expressions help take away some of the uncanny valley from it. Despite some very noticeable differences, you can still tell it's the Pokemon very easily. Like even if Jigglypuff is weird with the fur, you can still tell it's Jigglypuff and she still has an air of goofiness with it's expressions.

How can anyone say this is disgusting?

It is the most precious thing I have seen.

Also, Detective Pikachu is definitely on the air more than Toy Story 4 in terms of internet culture.

We still have little information about Toy Story 4, and plus there are more internet cultured circumstances surrounding it. Toy Story 4 should release a good trailer soon.

The original game didn't have this Neo Noir setting though. Mother's Basement brought something up that the tone and setting were chosen to blend the CGI Pokemon with the actors better as, this way, everything has the same artificial lighting.
i mean, you can still tell those are special effects but they don't clash as much as one would expect and how a more natural lighting would have ****ed everything up.

And if it was entirely a cartoon it would be weird having Ryan Reynolds in the movie

The realistic stuff in the movie is giving me some nice headcanons:
Like Ash's mom getting banged by the God of Dodgeball :122:

So I was doing a bit of research on the Detective Pikachu movie and found this.
There was a problem fetching the tweet
Chances are Mew and Mewtwo might look like the monstrosities on the right of the picture below Dragonite.

EDIT: close up pic for added nightmare fuel
Oh, I know that guy from his paleo artwork. I guess he’s going places if that’s the case.

People are exaggersting how Nightmare Fuel the designs in Detective Pikachu are when they still have the same basic design, just with realistic fur and other features.
Seriously, Pikachu has never looked better and he just looks so damn fluffy.
**** you, Mr. Mime is terrifying, but I guess that’s normal.
Oh god the first animation that I see coming out of Brazil onto Netflix, Super Drags, turns out to be an apparent total disaster. There isn't much talk on it yet so it could be that these, like, 3 reviews I found just happened to be the exception to it but considering the only thing I've seen from it is one of the protagonists groping an exaggerated boner and letting a homophobic terrorist run away because "he was cute", my hopes for this are below zero.
I really don't know who this show's target audience even is but if I had to take a guess it's straight people who watch RuPaul and think they're supporting the LGBT community. With all the stereotypes and sex jokes that only reinforce the notion that gay people are inherently sexual, this really is a big pile of ****.
Of course it’s a Brazilian series. But yeah, it does look pretty trashy.

Not going to lie, I am pretty disappointed about the Nintendo Illumination thing. Sure Nintendo may have control over it, but Disney or even Warner Bros. would of worked. Illumination is not terrible, but I have never seen a great film from them.
Well now I feel slightly disappointed. *Shrugs*
