Galeem is actually Crazy Master Core Tabuu and Miahstorm was playing the long con with us.
I’m going to laugh if this actually happened. There would never be such a thing as smash predictions anything because anything would be game lol

All misconceptions. And Smash and crossovers in general shouldn't really count as a source of power. There's cosmic spirit, but there's also cosmic Mario and cosmic Luigi. So cosmic spirit probably isn't Rosalina. Her powers come from using the power of stars through the cosmic observatory, it's very similar to how Bowser gets so much power through the stars.

Also if I correctly, it's a galaxy up her skirt, not a universe. Even then that's not actual evidence considering that it can just be a projection much like how Ignis from KoF has a galaxy projected in his ultimate, it's not an actual galaxy though. It's just an image to show that he uses cosmic power.

Rosalina's supposed raw power(as in offhand, not potential power with the observatory and such, even then I think that's overestimated) reminds me of when people thought Falcon's punch caused the huge explosion in the galaxy rather than the reactor creating it.
....No she literally doesn't.

You're talking to an 11 year fan of the character who has done tons of research on the character and has corrected a plethora of misconceptions on the character.

Rosalina does not need stars to do what she does. She literally warps at least a galactic distance in her very first appearance in Super Mario Galaxy, bringing a huge plateau with her, warps back to the Observatory, and this is when she literally has no Power Stars.

The Power Stars aren't for Rosalina. They're for the Lumas. She literally explains this in plain terms at the beginning of the game. Without Power Stars, the Lumas can't use the Observatory's functions and fly about. And if they can't do that, they may eventually die, which in turn can stunt the ecosystem of the universe since they are what populate it. Rosalina doesn't do anything she does for her own survival - she's survived the inevitable end of the universe countless times - it's so she can help other people live for as long as they can, especially taking into account her backstory. She is, literally, the equivalent to god in the Mario universe.

If anything, Rosalina is the one character in the entire Mario universe that doesn't need them. Mario uses them. Peach uses them. Bowser uses them. Various miscellanous characters use them since Super Mario 64. But Rosalina is the one that tends to their creation and lets them spread about the universe. She takes care of the Lumas until they grow up to become Power Stars, and let's them off to scatter around space. Where those Power Stars go is up to them, they're their own individuals and make that choice themselves.

And again, not like any of this matters - Kirby didn't escape because he's a god of destruction or something. He escaped because he, at the time, had a tool that allowed him to travel at warp speed. Rosalina has literally been shown to be capable of travelling faster and warps about on a regular basis.

It was intentional, and that's that lol. They decided to make Kirby the main character for the new story mode and called it "Kabi no Hoshi", which is really a creative move. Intentional but also creative.

I can't smile when he's laughing at Rex though.

And still, Piranha Plant is still my most dislike character in Smash Bros... like... ever at this point.
You’ll love him soon...we all do...:ultpiranha:
The World of Light name backwards isn't the only reference to the Kirby anime. The entire scene with the big beams of light and him escaping them is very similar to a scene from one of the last episodes of the Kirby anime.

Only in the anime, he actually stopped to save someone, so yeah, yet another reason why more people should have survived. :V

That’s a cool reference
How pp got in:
Yes! Let the Piranha Plant memes flow
I’m loving the fact that Piranha Plant is slowly becoming more popular within the Smash community (slowly more positives than negatives)

All I needed, no need for the attitude.

That doesn't mean anything to me. Someone could tell me that they've been a huge dino nerd for at least a decade and those people are often dead wrong about certain things they hold onto. Like Spinosaurus walking on four legs. Ah, that was quite the popular view for awhile.

I said she was able to warp to her ship. Just been a very long time since I've played galaxy, so I wasn't 100% sure.

Exactly, she conducts the Lumas and the observatory, it isn't her own raw power, but a power she has to wield, there's no evidence that she has such raw power on her own. That's how she accomplishes her biggest feats, she wasn't reason why the universe came back after its death, it was the lumas, she's survived the same anyone else has really. And I couldn't find anything on her being a cosmic god or her surviving the end of the universe. It'd be like saying Grand Moff Tarkin is a planet buster because he can blow stuff up with the death star.

And again, not like any of this matters - Kirby didn't escape because he's a god of destruction or something. He escaped because he, at the time, had a tool that allowed him to travel at warp speed. I still said she was able to warp to her ship.

The Lumas don't give her power (except in Smash gameplay but that's for the meta puppet fighter gameplay style because it's a fighting game). All of her feats are on her own. She doesn't wield Lumas or Power Stars in the actual Mario games to do anything. The Lumas rely on her. That's why they call her "mama".

she wasn't reason why the universe came back after its death
She was. She creates the physical space that the Lumas then populate, she's literally at the center of everything in the ending. Without her doing her job, the Lumas just die too.

she's survived the same anyone else has really
No she didn't. In fact she specifically pulled Mario and others from the brink, and brought Mario to the centre of the universe to speak with him. Where she is a literal giantess at the point, a size comparable to Galeem in fact.

And I couldn't find anything on her being a cosmic god or her surviving the end of the universe.
She is intimately familiar with the cycle of the universe and only visits her home "every 100 years", implying a long lifespan if a trip to home is every century for her. This would only be possible if she experienced it. In addition, her amiibo bio states that she "guards the cosmos against any and all threats". Sounds on par with "Kirby has infinite power" in one of his bios to me, if not beyond, and like something a cosmic god would do.

They never use the term god, but that doesn't matter, because "god" is a title, not so much a role. It's used for characters that enforce themselves as an authority of something. Rosalina is more like a quiet, behind the scenes caretaker, so she wouldn't refer to herself as a god as it would be egotistical and OOC.

People are taking a cutscene whose sole purpose was to set up a basic plot of "save all these possessed characters" way too seriously. You need the most amount of characters to setup as enemies while also having the bare minimum of playable ones.
Kirby being the only one that survives is a ganeplay choice, not a story one.
And regardless of Sakubias, it HAD to be one of the O8, and, tbh, Kirby fits the role best out of any of them since this kind of **** is a monthly occurence to him.
Also, even from a story perspective, the initial cutscene is supposed to show the overwhelming power Galleem has. Some characters underestimate it and end up biting the bullet(Zelda, Mewtwo, Palutena, etc), others realize they can't do **** and try to run away but the beams are faster(Falcon, Falco, the Pits), some stand their ground but know they can't directly fight it but dodging ends up being futile(Lucario, Greninja, Link). And some are just straight up supposed to be comedic unless you believe Snake really thought that was his best option.
It's not stupposed to be a personal attack against your character who you believe to be OP. It's not even Sakurai showing how powerful his character is, Kirby only gets away because all the circumstances allowed him to. Had he hesitated in escaping, had he not possess a Warp Star or had the beams went into any other direction, he would be gone too: it was all luck.

Shut up, dinosaurs have feathers you nutter.

As for Chikolad, most of that is speculation at best. Funny how you say that people overestimate Kirb(which is true), yet do the same thing with Rosa. I mean, it's fine to have that speculation as a headcannon, but there's a good reason why the over exaggerated stuff is on the VS wiki rather than the Mario wiki.

I know that, I just like using it as a jumping off point for discussion. People sleep on Rosalina a lot too in general and I've seen that come up as a result of this scene so that's why I'm making my infographic.

IMO what should have actually happened was everyone gets caught, including Kirby, but the player can break the fourth wall as such and revive one character of their choice (two if the mode has co-op), and set on their merry way. Makes way more sense because in a game that will eventually have 80 characters, many of which players are experienced with, it makes no sense to lock people off from their favourites, especially when the mode allegedly has no story beyond that trailer. Just let people pick their main and go.

As for Chikolad, most of that is speculation at best. Funny how you say that people overestimate Kirb(which is true), yet do the same thing with Rosa.
It's literally not though, I'm referencing official material here.

You're interpreting official material, big difference. In the same vain that MatPat or Gnoggin do. Like nothing wrong with it, but shouldn't be considered actual canon until there's more direct evidence. Her powers are pretty vague as is.

Dunno man.

He's growing on me. :awesome:
I saw what did there with the pun lol.

And that cool, but to me... Piranha Plant might just be how I am looking at Bowser Jr... I used to dislike Duck Hunt but now he's amazing to me.

You’ll love him soon...we all do...
Maybe... like how I am with Duck Hunt. But I doubt it, because I always grudge with Sakurai adding new Mario characters basically.

Totally agreed, people can be salty or saying it's Sakurai bias all they want. I think the new story mode is just going to be interesting and fun to play.

Also the Japanese title for World of Light again speaks for itself, it intentionally means Kirby will be the main dude for the mode lol.
Last but not least, who doesn't like Kirby?

I'm not. "She guards the cosmos against any and all threats" is an official quote. And everything else is either a quote from her or something shown blatantly in a cutscene.

That doesn't mean she does it with her raw power though. Next you're going to tell me that Batman is the god of Gotham. And yeah, the "Kirby has infinite power" thing is BS. Maybe infinite potential at most.

But she does do it with her raw power, as sufficiently explained with quotes and scenes from the game.

There is literally no quote that states that she draws literal raw power from Lumas or Power Stars and all of her biggest feats have been done without harnessing their raw power, and you haven't even given me a source or quote to that effect either so I assume you're not even sure on that one. Case closed.

We never actually see Rosalina do anything that would put her above Bowser. All we have is an informed power level that doesn't really tell us anything about combat power. Ingame, she needs Mario to do all the **** of saving the galaxy and Bowser took over it pretty easily in the first place.

Vice versa can be said too. Her greatest feats on her own are her making herself look big(projections, telekensis, and warping to her ship. Big whoop, doesnt' raise her to godhood. Stars and the like on the other hand have always been a source of great power, otherwise why would Bowser even be able to be such a threat in the first place?

At most she's been apart of the cycle for hundreds of years as you mentioned, but again, it seems to be through her friendship with the Lumas, not through her being some natural god or whatever.

We never actually see Rosalina do anything that would put her above Bowser. All we have is an informed power level that doesn't really tell us anything about combat power. Ingame, she needs Mario to do all the **** of saving the galaxy and Bowser took over it pretty easily in the first place.
This pretty much.

In a lot of VS debating scenarios, what most people refer to as "Destructive Capability" is usually the generalized stat, not the "Attack Potency" or "Power" or just raw strength in general. Her DC is pretty much from that "lol **** the universe bites the dust" at the end of the first game.

But that didn't actually hurt anyone. Mario and co. all came out safe and sound. And if she could do that, then, well, doesn't matter what Galleem does if she kills the entire Smash cast.

Mario does it because she needs to stay and protect the Lumas.

A.K.A your token "we wouldn't have a game if she did the thing" excuse, just like "why doesn't Mega Man just teleport to the boss door?".

Should also be noted that Bowser stole the stars from a distance rather than raiding her directly like he does any other time he does anything. He knows he can't just raid her because she'd whoop him.

They came out safe and sound because Rosalina protected them. She literally grabs Mario to talk to him, lol, and sends them all back while speaking to them as an omnipresent voice in the sky. Y'all really need to reach to try and bring her down.
