Since we've been seeing people post some Smash Ultimate memes here following the Direct, I'd figure I'd join in and share one particularly funny video related to the recent Direct: more of how the trailer proved Kirby's OP-ness, but in a fun-hearted way!

People taking Kirby as using a device that goes at lightspeed to avoid light as OP kills me because that's not how being OP works

:bobomb:he obviously got the monado speed boost
ACKSHUALLY, Iron Man is the strongest Marvel character because he survived the Thanos snap

Villager is hella spooked
View attachment 175327
Wow, Villager actually has another expression.
The Omnic's name is Echo(which is also the name of another Greek character). Jeff mentioned it at Blizzcon and he even mentioned that she is definitely going to be a Hero available at some point.
That's nice, chances are she might be in the healer class.
Also, can't believe McCree just left her there after that lol.
-Megalance? Nia stats aren't the best for physical damages, sure she can do decent damages, but Rex can do the same amount and do more, he also have a break and a art that remove aggro, which work both together pretty well, Nia arts don't really offer much, since you shouldn't get the aggro at all with Nia anyway, she is just outclassed there. Also, Morag get a quick and powerful Smash, tho, I wouldn't say she is the greatest with lance too.

-Katana? Hmm....OK, she is quit good with with Katana, but again, Morag is THE Katana user, so outside of Newt, I don't really feel like giving any Rare Blade Katana, since Morag already got Brighid and as better use with Katana blades, so, heh, I give a point for Nia I guess.

Axe? Nia got a topple....but Zeke got one too, in fact, all of Zeke arts work like Nia arts, but Zeke stats work better in general with axes than Nia stats, so, again, Nia is OK, but not the best, so outclassed on this one.
Eh... I don't think she's useful when she uses Megalance and Katana Blades.

To be fair... Zeke takes a bit time to topple the enemy, whereas Nia doesn't.

Heck, I even use Roc from time to time and he certainly isn't great at all, but I like the talking birds who is always here and as crazy critical rate, so if I feel like it, I use him. I know he has problems, but XB2 as enough broken stuff that you can work a good amount of weird build that aren't the greatest, but still work if you know what you're doing.
I only use Roc for Smash...

At the end of the day, it isn't good to debate on preferences (And especially with ChikoLad... no offense) ... I used to use Nia primarily too for custom heal, but how I use Rex or Morag to do topples easily or launch easily.

In my opinion Zeke is probably the most useful when doing Driver combos, as for Tora and Poppi... oh man he can get OP once you got all those parts
And if you disagree, fine, but don't say I'm 100% objectively wrong, that make it you look like you are ignoring all of my points and just not wanting to listen to my points.
Yeah... this is the issue here whenever discuss things with ChikoLad, even opinions...
Not taking shots on him, just that we should take our opinions with responsibility and try not to shove it down to others unless you have things to back up. And no, calling names on others, tell people to do more research, exaggerating and twisting people's opinion will always make the discussion worse.

And nitpicking a person's post being long or like an essay is a whole level of low...
mario123007 mario123007 Speaking of basketball, you also happen to be a Wizards fan, right?
I do live near Washington DC back then... but no...

I was more of an Orioles and Nationals fan. You know... MLB...
No one likes to talk to me on Twitter. I’m mostly here because of shish anyway.
Same bro... same... just check on Twitter for funny stuff lol.
Or, you know, you could just develop basic self-control and dip out of the discussion. I suppose I'm not the most likable of people though, I'm used to being on ignore lists.
You not wrong but I think you should look yourself to the mirror when saying that.

Not saying that you aren't likable, just man... even discussing opinions with you just never goes well for some reason.
You are all sleeping on Lora & Jin I tell ya.
Mythra and Addam anybody?

Jevil is even harder than the final boss. The worst part is I am going pacifist mode, which makes him even harder. :p

And Rocket is definitely the strongest member in Guardians of Galaxy.

Any advice on winning this guy Pacifist mode? He is so strong. Even stronger than the final boss.

World of Light has the potential to be much better than Brawl's Subspace Emissary.

They're entirely different. Subspace is more of a platformer with a loose plot and cut scenes. World of Light may not even have any cut scenes at all.

Subspace was also not really that much fun aside from the cutscenes, to be honest.
I liked the bosses. The problem with the core of it for me was the lack of enemy actual video game enemies.

World of Light also the potential to not be the fun though, I could see it potentially getting repetitive, but we'll see.

Oh yeah, the bosses were fun. But only that and the cutscenes.

And yeah, World of Light could admittedly not be that much better, so we'll have to see.

That is the most false thing I have read.
It's called an opinion, Shiny.

Subspace was way too ambitious, imo. The cutscenes are great, the bosses can be fun, but the overall gameplay is just... bland.

It brags about having branching paths but those paths change literally nothing to the story, only the Mario series gets to have some representation in enemies while everyone else is generic or just R.O.B.s, every place looks generic as **** and there's no real location originating from video games aside from Skyworld and Halberd, etc.

It was a good idea, but it just... wasn't fun.

I spent all of my money just for items to pacify Jevil. Here we go.

I do love Subspace, but I do agree it was way too generic.

If you love it, you love it. Fine by me.

But with that said, World of Light will most likely be nothing but the fighting.

Which is a real shame because sprinkling some of the stuff from Melee's Adventure mode, even if only for a handful of levels, would've been great.

Subspace's flaws come in two things for me:

1. Generic ass levels (that aren't Halberd)
2. Actually not being able to branch out

The first one impacts the most. I don't want to fight in a generic plain, I want to kick ass in Hyrule, Mushroom Kingdom, Archanea (or whatever marth's kingdom was, not whatever the hell that deserted place was in SSE), somewhere that was at least recognizable. That's why people like Adventure so much.

Also the branching cutscenes are really nothing more than Kirby and Peach/Zelda having a blast, which gets you either Mario or Link getting pissed. It actually has no impact on what happens in the story or how things shape up, which loses replay value.

World of Light does look like a supped-up Event Mode so far. Depending on how it's handled, it could be pretty decent and fun. But it could also be rather tedious except for maybe the Boss Fights. I could understand them not wanting to do something like Subspace with the platforming if the platforming takes up alot of time and manpower, but if such is the case, something like what Cuphead did would be nice. Have the main parts be bosses & characters with different attributes/gimmicks/etc and whatnot while having some parts be platforming stages with classic enemies. Those parts would serve as a cooldown between all the bosses and character fights and whatnot.

That said, I am sad that Smash Run doesn't appear to be returning, as that mode was very fun with all the different mooks and mobs from different series.

So let’s do something fun.

What’s everyone’s head canon on how pp became playable?

Yeah, generic level designs and a sheer lack of crossover enemies from other games were my biggest disappointments with Subspace. The fact that it was hard to follow the story at more than a few points also hurt it for me.

Don't get me wrong, though. A lot of SSE's enemies are actually pretty fun and creative. I just wished that they also didn't cut several of the various mooks from other Nintendo games from the mode so it'd feel like more of a crossover and give even more variety. A nice blend of enemies from other games and original enemies, each group fighting considerably differently from the others. I might've even forgiven the bland as hell level designs if they had incorporated more Nintendo enemies.

Smash Run rectified that aspect. Bring back a few more SSE enemies, mix them altogether in some creative levels based around other games, and give us more cutscenes like World of Light's intro, and you've got the perfect Adventure/Story Mode for Smash, imo.

Pick one.
  1. He and Incineroar tag teamed on the Grinch, beating his ass and becoming pals along the way, causing PP to have a good reference to get in Smash.
  2. Isabelle took care of it, planting it, watering it, growing it... and refused to enter Smash without PP getting something too.

Kiroshi and the hair girl are a couple now? That’s so weird. Also I guess the ugly kid with the harvest stand is getting murdered next episode by that blonde guy with the creepy Killer Queen stand.

The second options is way better then my head canon.

Which was that people kept referencing pp as a move when asking for waluigi in the ballot and then Sakurai got a devilish idea
