Just finished season one of DuckTales (2017). HOLY CRAP the last two episodes! This show is an incredibly amazing piece of art.

Now onto season two. :b:

I really kinda don't get why people make such a big deal about the "SSE didn't have Nintendo levels" thing.

While I certainly would have preferred if the levels were based on the franchises the characters come from, that doesn't take away from the fact the actual level design was engaging and varied. There were a ton of different location types and different levels had different obstacles and enemies and level gimmicks. Subspace was literally a full-scale Kirby game where you could play as a bunch of Nintendo characters. That's great.

Also, while Skyworld and Halberd are the only named areas we get, a lot of areas are clearly callbacks to Nintendo areas. The Underground/MIne levels are a clear callback to the Underground levels in Super Mario Bros. as they are filled with Super Mario Bros. enemies. The large Lake areas bear resemblance to Lake Hylia. Marth starts off on a castle, similar to how he starts Chapter 1 of FE1 (and really it's not like that castle in FE1 had a defined design, it's a tile in an NES game). Donkey Kong starts in a Jungle like Kongo Jungle. Lucas and Pokémon Trainer travel through an Egyptian Tomb similar to the one from Super Mario Land (and it has the music from Super Mario Land too). Samus travels through a bunch of desolate research facilities just like how she sometimes does in her own games.

It's really no different to what they are doing with Spirits in Ultimate (i.e. "you're fighting Owain but not really it's actually Chrom pretending to be Owain").

And Melee's Adventure Mode by comparison, despite having the Nintendo areas, was actually horrible. It was only slightly different to Classic Mode, and the only good level was the Zelda one. The rest felt like unfinished prototypes. While it had some interesting concepts, like the different events that could happen under certain conditions, the mode overall was very bland and felt really rushed, and you can feel how it was an afterthought. I'm convinced most of the love for it is pure nostalgia. I played Melee after Brawl so I had no nostalgia for that mode and just found it uninteresting as a result.

World of Light seems like an earnest effort but an earnest effort that wasn't started when Ultimate started development, which is why it seems like it's so close yet so far. It would have been perfect if it had platforming levels between the character fights and bosses, ones based on Nintendo properties this time. But as it is it's just a glorified events mode with a World Map. I actually did envision my ideal Adventure Mode as combining SSE scale levels with Event Matches on a World map. with RPG elements, but World of Light is missing the former portion. And to make matters worse, they are forcing a particular character upon you rather than letting you pick your own starter, and making it be the way you unlock characters for THE REST of the game, so I will have to play through this mode before I do anything else (at least Brawl gave you a decent starting roster and alternate unlock methods). Meaning I'm gonna rush through it and not take it in, especially since it didn't seem that interesting. Whereas I actually paced myself with Subspace by playing other modes in between. I had unlocked Sonic for the rest of the game before I even beat Subspace.

TL;DR Subspace was great, you guys are just mean.

Yeah, you're right. There were some actually pretty great areas that were nice callbacks. I can actually think of a lot of areas I was very fond of.

Actually, Skyworld was the most boring if anything. Though it'd still be cool to see some more key locations at least. Kind of like how Kirby sometimes does it with mostly atmospheric levels and then some levels have locations. Like say, well, the Halberd.

Still wish there Nintendo enemies though with maybe some original enemies.

So let’s do something fun.

What’s everyone’s head canon on how pp became playable?
Alright I'm gonna go the distance with this one.

Piranha Plant's story begins with Bowser, who was transporting a plethora of Piranha Plant seedlings by boat to grow into minions for his army, but in an accident, the boat crashed and lost all of the seedlings. The seeds were almost all destroyed, and only one remained, washing up on a nearby beach.

Daisy, strolling along that same beach, came across the seedling and was unaware of what it was. Excited that it may of been a new flower of some sort, she took it with her to plant it in her personal garden. But after some growth, Daisy realized what the seed was. However, because of how tame it was, she decided to continue tending it, all she did all of her flowers.

Bowser caught word that Daisy had stolen one of his Piranha Plant seedlings and dispatched a group of Koopa Troopas lead by two Hammer Bros to retrieve it. They broken into Daisy's private garden and cornered her. But to their surprise, the Piranha Plant noticed its owner in danger, and went berserk. It chomped, smashed and spit toxic fumes until the minions were in full retreat. After this, Daisy promoted the Piranha Plant to be her private garden's protector.

When Daisy was invited to Smash, she left, assuring the Piranha Plant that she would return, but after awhile, the Piranha Plant learned how to move in its pot, and with great determination, scuttled all the way to reunite with its owner.
Honestly, I only wrote that because of that artwork.

I mean, the name was also deliberate because it could've been called literally anything.
Not a good argument there lol, I bet the title of the new story mode must mean something besides of already sort of a reference to Kirby.

And I can't wait to check more cutscenes in the story mode, if there are.

But given how it's literally Kirby's name backwards, you can't say it doesn't feel intentional that it was given that specific name.

I gotta agree with him on this one, Kirby's name backwards means ****ing nothing. It's like reversing a song and crucifying it because you heard the words "hell" and "satan" when you played a song slow and in reverse.

Why is Kris just an anagram of Frisk minus the F
is there a last name and why is it frank because **** you
Deltarune is also an anagram of Undertale, and there's at least one more character whose name is an anagram. I assume it's because everything's so mixed up.

Pick one.
  1. He and Incineroar tag teamed on the Grinch, beating his *** and becoming pals along the way, causing PP to have a good reference to get in Smash.
  2. Isabelle took care of it, planting it, watering it, growing it... and refused to enter Smash without PP getting something too.
Neither, it's Waluigi's pet. Even the pot even has the same hole.

It was intentional, and that's that lol. They decided to make Kirby the main character for the new story mode and called it "Kabi no Hoshi", which is really a creative move. Intentional but also creative.

This makes me smile more than it should.
I can't smile when he's laughing at Rex though.

And still, Piranha Plant is still my most dislike character in Smash Bros... like... ever at this point.

The Ruined Zoo in Subspace was a reference to Mother 1 as well.
I'm going to miss subspace as I liked the platforming and killing mobs. Also the cutscenes were great its what actually made me play Mother 3. Lucas' arc and saving pokemon trainer helped with that.

The World of Light name backwards isn't the only reference to the Kirby anime. The entire scene with the big beams of light and him escaping them is very similar to a scene from one of the last episodes of the Kirby anime.

Only in the anime, he actually stopped to save someone, so yeah, yet another reason why more people should have survived. :V

Well going off of that scene he would've died too if he went to save someone. LMAO

Anime Kirby is way less experienced though.

IIRC they also had this rule where the Warp Star's power in the anime is based on Kirby's own confidence and it has a mind of it's own. If Kirby is down in the dumps or if his courage falters, the Warp Star starts disobeying him. That's why he had so much trouble catching up to it.

I mean, it's silly to connect anime kirby to video game kirby regardless.(Or trying to find logical power scaling in smash for that matter, or video game characters in general now that I think about it.)

All that I know is, if anyone's most likely to escape an intergalactic threat it's definitely Kirb, even ignoring how people exaggerate his power generally, it's more so that most of the smash bros roster really reach that high of a level without some power boost or source outside of the games. Rosalina for instance is way, way less powerful than I thought after looking up. Seems as though she's only a human that uses the power of the stars. To be fair, other characters like Captain Falcon are also thought to be way more powerful than they actually are based on misconceptions.

Rosalina isn't a human who uses the power of stars, she's literally a cosmic deity. She's seen the universe die and be reborn countless times, and her upskirt is literally a universe too. She creates the space which the Lumas then populate as stars and planets.

I'm actually making an infographic right now about how she should have survived. But really, the only point you need is that she, in her own Smash trailer, outspeeds Kirby. Everything else is gravy.

All misconceptions. And Smash and crossovers in general shouldn't really count as a source of power. There's cosmic spirit, but there's also cosmic Mario and cosmic Luigi. So cosmic spirit probably isn't Rosalina. Her powers come from using the power of stars through the cosmic observatory, it's very similar to how Bowser gets so much power through the stars.

Also if I correctly, it's a galaxy up her skirt, not a universe. Even then that's not actual evidence considering that it can just be a projection much like how Ignis from KoF has a galaxy projected in his ultimate, it's not an actual galaxy though. It's just an image to show that he uses cosmic power.

Rosalina's supposed raw power(as in offhand, not potential power with the observatory and such, even then I think that's overestimated) reminds me of when people thought Falcon's punch caused the huge explosion in the galaxy rather than the reactor creating it.

With all of that said, that's not to say that she doesn't have any abilities on her own. She could've easily just warped off the planet.
