What in the living actual **** is that dagger?

Called it this would be a Nohrian Fates banner to follow up from the Hoshidan one we had a few months ago. Not surprised with Silas's inclusion either since his Hoshidan counterpart is already in the game.

What I am surprised though is the inclusion of Ophelia and Nina in this banner. I know both are very popular Fates characters and among the most popular Fates children, but I didn't think they'd be implemented into Heroes this soon. I honestly thought Dwyer would be the Nohrian child that would be added since the last Hoshidan-themed Fates banner added the child units playable in both routes (a.k.a. the two Kanas and Shigure), not the Birthright-exclusive ones, so I thought they'd go with Dwyer since he's of Nohrian origin and is available in both routes (as well as being another very popular child character, if the Fates popularity polls are anything to go by).

The Garon GHB should be interesting. I wasn't expecting him in Heroes so soon though.

The next story chapter is looking to be the Rite of Flames chapter judging by the maps, Surtr's presence, and the story dialogue presented. On an interesting note, the last two Fates banners we had were associated with story chapters that dealt with the rituals in Book II. The Birthright banner was associated with the story chapter that had the Rite of Frost (kinda fitting since both Hoshido and Nifl are depicted as the "peaceful" kingdoms in their respective games) while the Conquest banner is associated with the story chapter that has the Rite of Flames (kinda fitting since both Nohr and Musspell are depicted as the "evil" kingdoms in their respective games). Thought it'd be worth pointing out.

I think I'll pass from this banner though. I'm not particularly fond of Ophelia and Nina, and I'm indifferent to Silas and Flora (though I might go for her as a free summon not only because she may be our first S-tier Dagger unit, but also because she has Quick Riposte AND Def Ploy for skill fodder if I pull a bad natured one). If this banner had Benny or Charlotte (this would've been a great banner to finally implement her normal version to Heroes, but alas, IS didn't do it), then I'd consider using my orbs. Looks like my orb stash has been saved for the time being.

Thinking about it, Garon will be our first Armoured Grand Hero Battle since Zephiel. And if his weapon Bolverk has Distant Counter, he would also be our first DC Grand Hero Battle since Camus. But considering Walhart also had 1-2 range in his game and he didn't get that, I wonder if Bolverk won't get it either. But considering Bolverk had 1-4 Range in it's game, it seems like it can go either way.

Well I beat Sonic 3&K for the first time ever.

Kinda wild how long it took me to get around to it given I've been a fan of the franchise since 2001.

The Final Boss was surprisingly quick and easy. Glad they reused the Big Arm theme for it, it's way too good. Death Egg Zone was a really nice way to end things off as well, was challenging but never annoying like Sandopolis.

Overall what did I think? I think it's really good, not sure how I'd rank it among my other top Sonic games, I'd have to give it a couple more playthroughs for that. Which I absolutely plan to, need to get the rest of the Emeralds as well as do a Knuckles run. But I don't think the game had many lows, if anything they were just Marble Garden and Sandopolis (Act 2) for me.

Anyways tagging redfeatherraven cause he was interested in my thoughts.

I'm still a fan of Marble Garden, but I'm with you on Sandopolis II. I know you had beef with the ghosts (who doesn't?) and the rising sand section (not bad once you know where you're going, but learning the path is a pain), but personally my bane there was the sand slides. I remember timing out on the infinite one as a kid. Did it in Ice Cap too, and you'd think I would've learned...but nope.

We gotta get you to the promised land though. I'll fire up a run and get you some emerald locations. Don't know em all personally, but stick with me and we'll get you hyped.

Tell you a short story.

Back in the day, had a girl I'd been out with a few times come over to play cards with me and the early game night crew. Eventually they just left me and her alone, we hung out for a minute, I got a pic of a card in her bra. She seemed into me and things seemed pretty alright.

Suddenly she gets a text that a friend's stranded on the side of the road and she dashes. Weird, I guess, but **** happens.

Turns out she was dating several guys at once - a fact she neglected to mention to any of em - and she was racing off from being alone with me to hook up with someone else.

We're just happy there's a decent dagger around.

I don't sense it'll terrorize any Armors on its own. Armor can probably just tank her middling attack, even two rounds of it, so it'll be like any other soften and smoke strategy for them - albeit one where the debuffer probably sticks around to do it to the whole team, which I bet will be a new experience.

Dragons are more complex; someone in the subreddit did the math on Flora and suggested her Res was something like 38-39 based on the damage she laid down with Iceberg, so adaptive has us punching into something like 38 on one end and maybe 35 or so on the other. Spoiler alert, we ain't enthusiastic about it. I still think Nowi will tear her bits from bobs, but I'm not amused with Grima being flat dismantled by a dagger.

On top of all this, she even gets a special cooldown booster. Iceberg might well be her best bet (I don't see her doing enough damage to make Glimmer or Moonbow worthwhile and she'll probably want a more spammable skill than Luna or Aether) but she'll be handing that out pretty much every combat she initiates and it'll put her damage output into legitimately terrifying territory.

Also while I don't have high hopes of it being inheritable, if it is, imagine what this thing could do in someone else's hands. Ninjabbit, Sothe, and Legault are all crossing their fingers. Flora's statline might win out, but we'll see.
