I would say it's a pretty decent chapter, with a pretty good twist in the middle.
-Well, for one, the plot twist regarding the traitor was handled slightly better. It wasn't calling out Ylgr when everybody's suspicions are on the wrong person. I'm not exactly sure how it was done when it first started though, as I don't know if Fjorm just had the dream on her own or Loki made her have that dream. I mean, it'll be very dangerous if Loki actually did poison Fjorm while she was asleep/dreaming. But anyway, having Loki attempt to throw everybody off by disguising as Hrid while mentioning that Ylgr was the "traitor" was certainly a okay attempt at trying to make it less predictable and straightforward.
-Learning about what happened to Helbendi's home and sister was easily one of the biggest points of this chapter. This is how you do a twist right. With Gunnthra and Surtr's revival, there was not enough development to really care about what happened. However, with Helbendi, we actually got good development from him as the story went and when the twist about his home and sister came, it actually hurt and for once, it actually makes us dislike Surtr's ****etry for the right reason, rather than just get bored at him being a **** and stuff. Either way, now it seems likely that Helbendi might either save Ylgr and Veronica or he'll help us get in Surtr's fortress.
-Unsurprisingly, Loki gives us something to help against Surtr, which indeed implies that she either wants Veronica alive for something or she wants us to kill Surtr for something. If we take that Hoshidan Summer paralogue into detail, Loki could want something from Muspell's Fire Dragon as she went to the festival to study on the dragons. The other thing could be Loki just being manipulative for her own pleasure and they could reveal that Surtr is being a **** for a good reason. Hard case scenario, Surtr will die and then it will be revealed that his life is tied to the lives of every one of his people, thus resulting in us killing an entire civilization and having Loki laugh at us and guilt trip us for doing so.
-Anyway, I did mention one important detail, that being that Loki may have actually potentially poisoned Fjorm while she was sleeping if Loki was responsible for the dream.
-But we have another important detail. The Rite of Flame specifically requires 2 girls to use, hence Ylgr and Veronica. And that alone is setting up something very dangerous. We know the likelyhood of Ylgr and Veronica getting rescued which in turn would prevent Surtr's Rite of Flame. But that just sets up the possibility of Laegjern and Laevateinn, his own daughters, getting used for the Rite of Flames if we save Veronica and Ylgr. And considering how much IS seems like messing over Helbendi, it would mess him over even harder if he ends up being responsible for the death of a person who was actually sympathetic to him and trying to aid him.
