Tagging Mythra just because everyone's doing it(at, least, at the time I'm typing this).

Although, at the time that I'm posting this, I did just finish Chapter 8 of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 just now, so . . .

Spoiler: Full thoughts on the chapter (includes spoilers)

-The Land of Morytha's design reminds me a bit of NLA from XCX, but the general feel of this area reminds me quite a lot of both the Fallen Arm and Agnirtha from the first game.
-It's pretty cool that you can use Jin for this portion of the game, but I wish that he didn't have to leave as soon as a tank arrives in the party (not including Brighid). I suppose Torna: The Golden Country will be the closest that I'll get to playing more as Jin.
-Rex's Master Driver ability seems quite useful, and I suppose now I really have no reason to bond any blades to Rex specifically and should focus on bonding them to Nia, Morag, and Zeke.
-It's interesting to learn more about the life cycle of blades and Titans.
-Wait, I thought it was already said that Jin was a Flesh Eater? I guess I only inferred that due to the fact that he doesn't have a driver and how long he's been around, but it's still cool to see more of his backstory.
-It appears that Amalthus had attacked Ancient Torna during the Aegis War. So I guess that confirms that he's not really a good person.
-The very moment that I discovered a landmark in the World Tree I decided to leave just to do sidequests for weeks, so it ended up taking me a while for me to finish this chapter.
-The World Tree itself is pretty cool, and it reminds me a lot of the Mechonis in general, although if I were to compare it to a specific part of Mechonis, I'd say Mechonis Field, due to the verticality.
-It's a good thing that I managed to do the quests in Indol before making it through the World Tree and losing access to Indol.
-And it appears that Amalthus has a part of Fan's Core Crystal, which I suppose means he's a Blade Eater. I somewhat expected that since the start of Chapter 6, but it still feels exciting to see Amalthus reveal his true nature.
-And it appears that Mor Ardain shows up to save the day . . . only for the chapter to end right there and then.

Overall, this chapter was quite exciting and it definitely feels like I'm approaching the end of the game.
