Having to constantly tilt your Game Boy towards a source of light was the one true 90s-00s childhood experience
That and having a ****ton of batteries laying around the house.

Also there was That One Kid in class who had rechargeable ones.
This hits way too close to home lol. I remember hearing about an accessory that would charge the Gameboy without batteries and that always excited me as a kid. How times have changed.

The battery struggle was very real tho. I remember playing Pokemon Blue/Gold all the time and having my progress ruined because of the battery dying out. That's the true Gameboy experience right there.

Maria mode is kind of hilarious in Rondo too. It's not only a easier difficulty due to the abilities Maria has. (Those doves are OP), but all the cutscenes involve her instead of Richter. The font for the game over screen is colorful and bubble letters like its a little kids game, not to mention the ending.
Maria and her animal companions have a funny cutscene of escaping the collapsing castle, then it switches to the credits with bubbly music straight from a kids cartoon, and its like the devs are trolling you for playing the game as her instead of richter.

Educate my stupid ***, what's a backlight?
LCD displays, unlike cathode-based displays, do not emit light. So they need an LED panel, or backlight, to produce light from behind the LCD screen.

Basically the gist of it.

I had the battery die once and it corrupted my pokemon silver save data permanently. Like when I tried to play a new game and save, the game wouldn't keep the data stored. :( Luckily I got Crystal to replace it, as well get a better copy of Silver in a yard sale years later.

Seeing Maria rolling through the levels is just hilarious; she makes Stage 7 look like a joke.

Maria for Smash when?

Andrew Garfield always looked way older than 2002 Tobey to me lol.
Me too!

Also thank goodness Homecoming make The Amazing Spiderman not canon, because the Amazing Spider Man trilogy was just lame.

Yeah I hate having the save data corrupted. Even worse is when my PKMN Crystal internal memory died out and now I can't save in that game.

Do you all prefer Homecoming or the first Spiderman movie from 2001?
Both are really close for me.

That sounds like the battery in your game pak may have died. Since GB games save data to RAM, which require constant power to keep the data, batteries were used to supply the power. Once the battery dies however, you lose the ability to keep supplying power to the RAM and lose the data everytime the GB is turned off.

This happened to my copy of Gold. I was able to replace the battery though and now it can keep saves again.

Just played some Jackbox Games for the first time, and holy ****ing ****, it’s stressful. I can’t believe people can play this and not have a panic attack.

Uh, between those two Homecoming. Spider-man 2 is still the best of the best though.
Considering Homecoming did not get a sequel, is Spiderman ( 2001 ) or Homecoming better? :p

Also Homecoming Spiderman seems a little stronger than the Tobey Spiderman, guy can deal with Thanos and keep a heavy boat from falling from two as well as having more options from his suit. I might sound wrong, the only Spiderman movies I saw was Homecoming and Spiderman 1.

I prefer the original Spiderman's story though. He went from being an outcast to getting bitten by a spider and naturally getting his powers, even though I like the Spiderman and Iron Man bond.

My Switch seems to be suffering from age already. Had just started it up for the day on the dock and audio lag plaguing like two minutes in. Took it out, and it's already building up some heat. Tried playing to some Mario Tennis on handheld, and now the stick on the right joy-con is constantly drifting down, making me trick shot at just the most perfect of times.
Poor baby, and here I thought I was taking care of it so well. :crying:
My Switch only suffers Joy Cons being slightly flimsy and the Joy stick do drift too but not greatly. Also buttons sometimes don't get well input sometimes.

Spiderman 2001, no contest. Might be nostalgia goggles, but that's my childhood for ya'
I actually fell asleep for that movie when I watched it 16-17 years ago with my brother and dad lol. Ironically I woke up right towards the climax of the movie.

Yeah IDK what happened. I guess being 6-7 years old I didn't fully understand what was going on and got bored lol. I did enjoy the movie more in later viewings though.

Hard to believe it's been that long tho. Over a decade and a half since then. Damn we're getting old lol.

My Switch's problems are more internal than external. For some reason I get errors frequently, the type of errors that make you restart. One time I finished a playthrough for the day, put it up in sleep mode, and the next thing I saw like an hour later was the screen bright as hell and it saying it needed to restart. I didn't even think you could have errors pop up in mother****ing sleep mode.

That's why I agree that the Switch will eventually get a new model. It's like the Xbox 360 of this gen, which is pretty late into it but it was gonna happen eventually.

I prefer the original Sam Raimi trilogy.

Homecoming is fun enough but it definitely feels more kid oriented (or for those who want a generally fun movie with Spider-Man and not much else).

However, I feel the Sam Raimi films have only become more enjoyable to me as I grow older and just have more nuance to them and more to actually talk about and dissect, especially Spider-Man 2.

Homecoming was enjoyable but it kinda bleeds together with the other modern Marvel movies that kinda focus squarely on action and comedy with ultimately simplistic narratives and character motivations that don't do a lot for me other than serve as a decent excuse to munch on popcorn.

We'll probably never get a scene like this from a Spider-Man or any superhero film again.

To be fair for Batman, I saw a late showing when I like 8 or so, and that movie was dark, by that I mean visually hard to see. So I understand why younger me fell asleep.

Come to think of it I watched that Spiderman movie even before you existed in this world Shiny. :surprised: That's super wack man.
But I was here for a solid year before then, what does that make me?

While that is true, Infinity War was an exception.
Infinity War did not just focus on what Disney's Marvel focuses on ( comedy and action ), it also had a lot of characters growing together.
Infinity War is underappreciated in my opinion, that movie was a masterpiece.

Also I never saw Spiderman 2 or 3 in the Sam Raimi trilogy, but I seen the first one recently. The Green Goblin was pretty interesting but he did not really build me up enough.
