I don't know anything about the Walking Dead other than a couple of the character names, so I certainly don't know who this Negan person is.

Negan is the second major antagonist of the Walking Dead and the longest living villain in the series.

I wouldn't mind Goku. Just that I prefer Video game characters over non-video game characters. On the other hand, I do prefer Mickey Mouse over Goku , even if I still prefer VG characters over non-video game characters.

Honestly, we're at the "the weirder, the better" point now when it comes to Smash newcomers.

Well, we do now have Cloud, Bayonetta and Snake, all of whom are pretty weird to see in Smash, especially Snake and Bayonetta. The only thing that would probably be weirder would be a character from Microsoft or Sony and the only thing weirder than that would be a character from Blizzard or Bethesda.

Negan being in Tekken 7 is ****ING AWESOME. If you've stuck around this thread for a long time then you know I got straight pissed about the death of a certain character by Negan's hand and I since stopped watching it. BUT I do not blame Negan. I blame the showrunners and their shock value fetish. From what I've heard Negan is a great villain so I'm pretty happy to see him in Tekken.

Spoiler: Attack on Titan Season 3 Episode 3 spoilers

The pacing has slowed down for a bit with this episode. I appreciate that since the last two episodes opened the season with fast pacing to deliver the action needed to make the Season 3 opener as explosive as possible, and now that things have slowed down, we can get some more character building moments.

Loved every bit of Historia's backstory shown. Poor girl was an illegitimate daughter to Rod Reiss, which explains why her own mother was ostracized and never showed any affection for her own daughter. That scene when Historia's mother just threw her to the side like that when the latter tried to hug her own was shocking. Poor Historia! It was heartwarming to see Historia's happiness in all of this though. After all, it was the first thing her mother ever interacted for her.

I also really liked the vibrant colors they used when presenting Historia's flashback. Fits well with the farm setting where she grew up. Little Historia also looked and acted a lot cuter here than she did in the manga.

The only major element that was missing in Historia's backstory, aside from the mention that her grandparents (a.k.a. Historia's mothers parents) mostly raised her, when this was presented in the manga at that point in the story was the bit that she was heavily bullied as a child, both from the neighbors nearby and the other kids growing up on Rod's land; this explains why Historia was able to find solace in farmwork, as the farm animals would be her only friends when growing up. Despite the missing element, I have faith they'll bring it up when we learn more about Historia's backstory. The opening and ending showed a dark-haired girl with Historia, so it's clear this girl will be an important part to this too. Maybe we'll first see this girl when she scares some of the bullies away and sees how Historia befriends the farm animals in their (Historia and that girl's) first interactions together? That's how I can see the anime making that change.

The anime is also doing wonders to Kenny! I really like how the anime is finding ways to incorporate him in every episode. It really helps since he didn't have much screentime in the manga despite being one of the main villains in this arc. By bringing him in certain moments in each episode, the anime really does its best to ensure Kenny is relevant just as she should be. Here, we see that he met Historia in the past; he was the one that slit Historia's mother's throat to kill her (and he even called out Rod on the bad parenting part before the kill happened; Damn!). He also appears again talking with his underling when seeing the Survey Corps getting framed for the crime.

Hange had some more cool moment in the episode too. Turns out she and Levi tricked Ralph into reading the script to make Djel think Ralph betrayed him in order to get the former to reveal more information. Damn! Also, the glare she gave to Djel before leaving:

Cool. Really cool! *Insert pacha emote*

She has a nice moment where she rages by kicking the table, but then calms down when she sees Levi and puts her glasses back on. Basically, when she doesn't wear the glasses, you do NOT want to mess with Hange, because that's when she is most pissed off. When she has her glasses on, she's the normal Hange we all adore.

In the manga, Eren walked in on seeing Hange flip the table instead of Levi, but because the former's kidnapping was moved to happen much earlier into the season, the latter filled the role instead.

Djel's words this episode also helped set the motion for what our heroes will need to do now. Shortly after that, Hange tells everyone what she learned from Eren's letter to her that ties into what Djel revealed to her: Rod plans on feeding Eren to Historia so that she gets the Coordinate, the same power that allowed Eren to control those Titans to his will in the Season 2 finale with the use of his scream.

Now, how will Eren be fed to Historia? This ties into a major reveal that we learn in this very scene, and it was something Eren remembered from Ymir and Bertolt's dialogue in the forest: an Intelligent Titan (or Titan Shifter as the fans like to call it) is born when a Pure Titan (or Mindless Titan as the fans like to call it) eats another Intelligent Titan. Yep, we finally know how Intelligent Titans come about! In Ymir's case, she gained her Titan powers when her Pure Titan self ate Marcel, one of Reiner/Bertolt/Annie's friends who had the Power of the Titans.

So this now begs the questions: who did Eren eat to gain his Titan power, and how exactly will Historia turn into a Pure Titan to eat Eren? The mystery intensifies!

Now we get to see Erwin's moments in this episode, and boy what a thrill it was to see him. He has lots of great moments. First up, he reveals his plan to Pixis after learning about Historia having royal blood: he wants to overthrow the fake king and put Historia in charge as the new Queen. If all goes well, no deaths are necessary. A bold plan, but it only makes you wonder how willing is Historia willing to become Queen with the pressure from her dad and, eventually, the Survey Corps coming to her.

However, it seems that he can't proceed with this plan quite yet, as right now, the Survey Corps are being framed for Dimo Reeves's murder! Erwin is asked to appear on the scene of the crime where we see Dimo's corpse while his wife and a family relative grieve over his death. Erwin shows how badass he is an all of this. He doesn't freak out at the thought of being arrested and accepts the situation calmingly, even when Dimo's wife and some of the bystanders curse him. He also assures Dimo's wife and the other relative that he will avenge Dimo, and he even leaves some words that subtly call out the Military Police for being the ones responsible. Damn, Erwin knows what's up, and he won't give up despite the odds being against him. He even already has his successor planned if he dies: Hange Zoe!

We also learn about Erwin's backstory, and it was quite interesting. His dad was a teacher, and Erwin was one of his students. His dad was teaching his class about the history of the walls, but Erwin pointed out something was odd when it was brought up that no records of what life was like before the walls were built didn't exist. This leads to Erwin's dad telling Erwin after class, in private, about a theory that he came up with, and it's a startling one at that: the King wiped out humanity's memories when they moved into the walls, and the military made sure to not keep any records about life before the walls were created. Erwin'd dad seems to be implying that is actually much more to the history of humanity that exists but is being withheld from the public audience. Erwin tells his friends and some other kids about his father's theory, but it leads to the MP finding out about it, capturing Erwin's dad, and then torturing him to death.

Erwin then explains what his main drive is in life because of those events: he wants to prove his dad's theory is correct and discover the truth about the world. No wonder Erwin is so interested in reaching Eren's basement. It's great to finally learn about Erwin's backstory and his main motivation. It explains why he is so willing to sacrifice many things, such as all soldiers in some of his army charges, amidst the battle. It's just one step in a overarching goal to reach Wall Maria and prove his dad's theory is correct.

Numerous Survey Corps soldiers are now being arrested after the army group has been framed for Dimo's murder, and this now means Levi's groups is also being hunted down too. Thankfully, our heroes are wearing disguises and are currently hiding in the forrest to avoid trouble. They learn about the wanted posters to understand the gravity of the situation (Levi's face in the wanted poster was quite funny lol; he looked nothing alike. I can imagine Levi saying "They can't get my nose right!" when he saw that). They are told about approaching footsteps, and we see two mysterious soldiers walking. The episode ends.

This was a great episode, probably my favorite one in this season so far. It was great to finally learn about Historia and Erwin's backstories, and they both help to really appreciate them as characters. Of course, we still don't know everything about Historia's backstory if the current opening and the ending are anything to go by, so it'll be interesting to learn more about that. I also really liked it for the Hange and Kenny moments.
