**** you Opossum

Between "I wish I could fight bad guys like you" and Emma Fuhrmann being cast as an older Cassie, I think we're actually gonna see her kick ass alongside Scott in Avengers 4

I think I might actually try to avoid supporting Pokemon newcomers for future Smash games because this is a pretty stressful ride so far.
I don't want to expirience the same disappointment as Chrom fans did during the Sm4sh days.

I don't really have anyone in particular I want to see added. I think the Smash 4 roster offers a good baseline and Im more just curious to see who else gets added.

There was definitely a lot of salt/anger in certain groups after Smash 4 finally came out. Tbh I was a part of it...I think people got too worked up of who did/didn't "deserve" to get into the game. I'd like to avoid that this time around.

Pokemon is typically a really hard franchise to speculate about, since each Generation adds dozens of characters and a handful manage to be notable and unique enough to be "viable" for Smash.

And if that wasn't enough, a lot of the supporters tend to try and wish for a Grass Starter even though;
  1. Typing really wouldn't matter in the context of Smash, so if a Grass-type makes it in, it's because they had potential, not because grass.
  2. People don't realize that, not counting Pikachu because who here counts Yellow, only Brawl and Smash 4 introduced starters, with Brawl not even introducing some Gen 4 ones, but rather the Gen 1 starters due to the Pokemon Trainer being Red as well as being the most iconic starters.

That's exactly my point.

...I can't help but read "grass type" as "Decidueye", which makes you look like one of those "Decidueye is a forced bandwagon" people.
I completely agree with your points, but I just don't see why they're worth mentioning otherwise.

Not a bad summoning session! Epharaim is my second and neutral so I’ll be using him over my old one. Inigo is plus def minus ho. Which isn’t too bad. Pretty happy. Going to round up some orbs and try to summon again.

I don't think he's a forced bandwagon. He definitely has the uniqueness and popularity to justify him being in Smash.

I just some some people support him for reasons that don't make sense.

I know that, but it can come off that way.

To Decidueye's defense, it's not really different from people who just want K. Rool because "he's a villain", or "DK rep".
Hell, when I see support for Impa, I rarely ever see anyone mention reasons beyond "Zelda needs more reps" and "she's the most recurring Zelda character".

I can see why. Not to mention I'd prefer Incineroar if only so Smash can finally get a full grappler.

But I'd be fine with the Grass Archer.

People just don't take the time to think of good reasons.

Like, K. Rool can be backed up by the fact that Sakurai bothered to make a Mii Costume of him as DLC. Doesn't mean much, but it does mean he was on Sakurai's radar at some point.

As for Impa, she's honestly way too inconsistent to work and her BotW design, which is where Link and I asusme Zelda take their designs from... just won't work at all in Smash.

But that Giant Water Sword and Fire Naginata, though!!

But in all seriousness I support characters who I genuinely think will be cool fighters in addition to "other" reasons...

Another thing about bandwagons is that a lot of people warm up to the idea of the character being in Smash...so the support picks up steam...look at indie stars Shovel Knight and Shantae for example...

The one thing I'm worried about for Ant-Man and the Wasp...is if in a post credit scene, we get...
"Hey Scotty, I'm not feeling so good, man..."

And then Luis turns to ash.

So Taki's now in Soul Calibur 6. Pretty cool, once we get Yoshimitsu, I'll have the 4 characters I use the most. (Kilik, Taki, Siegfried and Yoshimitsu). I'll try to get better with Zasalamel if possible.

Of course I'm hoping for Talim and Raph to come back too.

Maybe Pokémon who are a part of a duo? Like Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan, Zangoose/Serviper, Sawk/Throh, etc..
Good idea!

You mean the one that's exclusive to spin-offs and some people reject because of that?

To be honest, I don't think I would've supported Isaac today if I didn't learn about him during the DLC period.

Here's a version of the trailer.

She's got a mask again like in SC1 and SC3. Seems like the bomb setups are more important this time around. And she has some kind of projectile?

Decidueye made it to the final four in the wanted newcomer voting bracket. The second to last round just started, but he's probably gonna lose because he's facing a rather... invincible enemy.
Still, it's good to know he made it this far!

I don't know if it's because of what happened with characters like Corrin in Smash Wii U/3DS, because literally all of the characters I genuinely want at this point are unlikely or straight up unpopular, or because I'm just generally being more sensible or something, but I'm at this point where I have next to no investment in the roster of Smash and can't really get angry over who is included or make a prediction. This has also prevented me from being even remotely hyped right now until I see gameplay and get word on modes and features the game will have, which I ultimately care more about.

Basically there isn't a single character I would get angry at being included. Even the ones I greatly dislike, such as Celica, or Rex/Pyra/Mythra (I actually reasonably like Rex but he's by far the least interesting of the main party of Drivers in XC2, Pyra I'm pretty indifferent to, and Mythra is one of my least favourite characters in the game. And the concept of just having Rex use Pyra and/or Mythra is like, the worst way to implement him. IMO he should have three Blades), I've accepted they're likely as candidates, popular, and have moveset potential, so I really can't get angry at their inclusion. They get in on their own merits, my favourites may or may not (most likely not though). That doesn't necessarily mean my favourites had less merits, just not the ones to catch Sakurai's/Nintendo's attention.

I just don't want cuts. Especially not for existing favourites. That would bother me. But even then I don't see a reason to blame it on another character's inclusion and unless they build this game off the Wii U game's framework (I hope they do so they can focus on content), I expect some cuts.

I have one particular character that I'd be reasonably upset if they got in over a certain someone else, and it's not Mimikyu.
Thankfully that character happens to be pretty unlikely, but Sakurai is an unpredictable fellow.

Yep. Honestly the games don't need remakes either. They already have updated ones. Essentially twice due to Gold/Silver's remakes.

D/P way more need the updating in comparison, as the base games are slow as hell and a lot of it is a slog to play through. Especially with the environmental effects slowing it down even more. HG/SS was fairly faster, at least. B/W vastly improved the series, ignoring the "holy crap, this is linear" factor, anyway. Better TM system, for one thing. More balanced gameplay. X/Y did also improve it with the Fairy type and more balance(though I still think Ice needs more resistances, and frankly, Electric should have at least 1 or 2 more weaknesses. No Pokemon should be able to ignore having a weakness overall simply by having Levitate).
I mean I'll be honest I was just ****posting.

I don't mind going back to Kanto myself.

I can't get upset at characters, I had that part of my brain removed.

Even my most disliked character would only be a "meh" on most people's scales.

If a character like Tingle even got added, I'd probably find some source of enjoyment from the little green middle-aged weirdo.

I don’t get the twitter meme with the characters shattering into triangles and it says I don’t feel good.

I thought I'd be completely done with Smash speculation after Cloud was revealed as a DLC newcomer for Smash 4.

Yet there I am again discussing the possibilities of what's to come for the next recently announced Smash game.
