I personally like a lot of the gen 5 designs quite a bit, and it has a few of my personal favorite Pokemon, like Cofagrigus, Samurott, and Volcarona. I also quite like a lot of the mons from Gen 1 and Gen 4. I will say that I do like all generations in terms of the Pokedex (and just in general).
The current plan is to have a balance of 15% characters, 15% NPCs, 30% summons, 30% Weapons/Moves, and 10% Bosses.

There will be a Battle Royal for top billing.
Well this is the first time I'm hearing about this. Sounds interesting. I feel like I would just be an NPC if I were in it, but I'm not sure if you're familiar enough with me for me to be apart of it. But that's up to you to decide.

Okay, let's do something kinda fun: list the first Pokémon game you played, and who your first starter was.

First Game: Ruby
Starter: Torchic
First Game: Diamond
Starter: Chimchar

I didn't actually finish Gen 4 until last year though.

Frankly I don’t hate any pokemon.
Same here, TBH.
I had Blue Rescue Team as a kid and that was my team as well. Should've probably went with a grass type for better coverage, though, like I did in Explorers of Time (Torchic and Treecko) a few years later. But I don't think type coverage really mattered much anyways.
First time I play any given PMD game, I always let the personality test choose my character. The only time that I ever rigged the personality test was in Explorers of Darkness, because I got Charmander again, and I didn't feel like repeating my previous starter choice.

As a matter of fact, Gen 5 in terms of just about everything is the worst to me. Even as dull as XY got it had way better music and didn't have a villain that was trying to be One Winged Angel and a general plot that took itself way too seriously.

But what about floof bird?
I am a lover of birds, but not those.

Yknow, I'll never understand why Zeraora wasn't made Electric/Fighting type. ITS SIGNATURE MOVE HAS THE WORD FISTS IN IT, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GAMEFREAK
I feel this way about Electivire. I love his design, goofy ears included, but he's a single type mon with no real strengths. They could have at least dual-typed him so he wasn't completely useless.

Can Phanos with the Infinity Gauntlet kill every character in DBZ? I think so.

Electivire and Luxray are two of the postermons for "should have been dual type."
Electric/Fighting and Electric/Dark.

It's funny just how opposite people can see things sometimes.

Gen V did just about everything right for me, personally.

The battle system was satisfying, the story was good, the music was the best in the series, and the Pokemon designs and variety were just excellent.

I loved pretty much everything that Gen V had to offer.

To each their own though.
What is your favorite generation then?

I thought that once.

Then Bruxish happened.
That's pretty much me with the Swirlix line, though it's more a complete dislike then hate.

Huh? XY's plot and villain took itself pretty seriously considering its whole thing was 'the world must remain beautiful and we'll kill everyone because people are squandering resources' and it was played straight. In fact that's probably one of its bigger flaws since it had a clear serious message to it with a villain who was an extremist that we were meant to sympathize with, yet it fell flat due to its execution and pacing being poor.

Also, I personally felt the opposite on their respective OST. Gen 5 had a number of memorable tracks for me like Route 10, 23, and Colress' theme, Gen 6 outside of a couple like Snowbelle City and Route 19 I don't have a lot of fond memories of it.

You know, for as controversial as a lot of aspects of X and Y are, I will always maintain that Tierno is a severely underrated character, and the fact that he didn't return in Sun and Moon with an Oricorio is blasphemous.

Gen 5 is underrated and I like it.

Also I am eating dried raisins.
As gross as this might seem, I heard a bit back that nutrition algae is really good for you. Going to try it sometime.

Edgey Hot Take.

Worst Pokemon Gen was Gen II.

But that's still really good all things considered.

Gen 2 was not the best, but Gen 6 was the worst.
The only reason why I did not like Gen 6 was because IT WAS SO EASY and some characters were boring, as well as the fact that I disliked them increasing shiny odds.

Still, I liked Gen 6 a lot. We got a lot of cool pokemon and there were some notably good characters as well.

XY weren't all bad.

In fact, I'm gonna say they'll go down the Ruby/Sapphire route of being eventually looked at in a better light in the future. Though, to be fair. R/S had an Emerald to back those up, XY never got a Z.
Gen 5 is underrated.
I don't think you know what that means.

X and Y did introduce the nice 3D sprites.

Gen 5 is universally loved that isn't true just cause I'm criticizing it lol.
While I agree that Gen V is by no means underrated, it is just as much by no means universally loved.

Gen V has always been the topic rather heated conversations, and it still is. It's kinda like SPM in a way. A lot more people appreciate it nowadays than they did initially, but quite a few people still hold disdain for it.

"Selling the most consoles doesn't make Sony the market leader, Sonydrone."
"Actually yes it does."
"Well being the market leader doesn't matter."

Way to move the goalposts, man. You're not arguing in good faith.
No, it never was when it comes to gaming market overall, and I may get bodied by this but Nintendo was also being the market leader when it comes to handhelds with the 3ds,and still kicking with Nintendo Switch.

Therefore that's why I said it never matters, news report wise. Because it only focuses on Sony doing well, and gloss over Nintendo. .. I don't it might nor make any sense but I hope you see my point there. If the article wanna focuses on Sony doing well, that's good and dandy, but them it just gloss over Nintendo and said Nintendo Switch "will never catch up" to Sony. .. Makes the article not looking too good in my opinion.
Also more to mention, Sony didn't sell the most consoles if you add both home console and handheld consoles, I could be wrong here though. So don't quote me on this one lol.

Also when it comes to your trying debunk my stating of "Sony is not a market leader" still doesn't change the fact that the article is pretty bias in some way. Not to mention I don't see what you are trying to argue here besides of the "marketing leader", because that's not what I was focusing on, what I want to state is, it is no news when it comes to Sony doing well, we should be more critical when it comes to Sony and we should also bring up positive news on other gaming companies like Nintendo and Microsoft. This isn't me bashing Sony, I am just bashing this article for not looking at a bigger scope. Maybe this article is only a portion, but I can not find any others.

I think the story is what's universally loved. And that only applies to the first game.

BW2 were way more divisive, and that's just because of the story. In my opinion, BW2 were far better games despite the weaker story. Everything else they did was a straight up improvement.

Gen 18 is the best generation, I loved that Nintendo had the balls to add a sex mini game into it. :troll:
If Gen 18 actually includes a sex mini-game I will declare you a prophet.
