Dude, Screw splatoon. I am switching over to ARMS forever.
Well I mean

You can do both. :4megaman:

Why choose between ARMS and Inklings? The happy-go-lucky world of Nintendo has enough for all of us, after all. One being good doesn't make the other any lesser.

She's completely and utterly unfazed, and that's not even getting into the high fashion and the gold roses swirling in the air.

I have to admit, I'm impressed. I wouldn't say I "want it," but there's a certain appreciation of someone who's style is just utterly on point.

*EDIT* Actually I do want something. A copy of her outfit. I don't even care that it's a bit too refined for me.

Finally out from college for the summer. Good to relax a little I would say.
Quite well if I'm not missing anything. I was hoping to hear about Super Bomberman R sales for April but maybe we will get news on it soon. Konami made comments about it reaching a wide audience (whatever that means) but no there are no definitive sales records outside of Japan.

Well, ARMS is looking better, but I'm sure after the "excitement" from the direct (wasn't really all the hype, but interested nonetheless), it'll go back to "eh" territory for me. It just looks like Pokken 2.0 for me, in that I'll get hyped because everyone else is hyped, buy the game, play for a week, never touch it again.

Just take the online features of ARMS and put them in Smash. Give me lobbies and a rank system

Watched the ARMS direct. Pretty neat. I really like that while they have "signature" arms, they still can use any they want. I really like how diverse the cast is, as well as the whole story of them being "awakened powers".

I'm sorry but in 2017 that's not acceptable even for a new fighting game IP.

It wasn't OK with Pokkén, and it's not OK here either.

I can forgive the small roster because free updates and they actually all seem to have a major gimmick that completely makes them different to the rest in some way (they designed the characters more like platforming characters or something as opposed to fighting game characters in terms of their differences, I actually think that's pretty interesting), but a single-player mode like that is unacceptable for me at €60, especially with Tekken 7 not being too far off (and watch as Nintendo announces Smash Switch and fixes it's content issues like with MK8DX, so that too).

If you have a lot of Nintendo friends, both offline and online, this game will probably already look worth €60 to you. For me though, it's just not, it's not even close, especially considering online won't be free anymore (and to be honest the only other online game they have so far that I could see myself investing in is Splatoon 2).
We'll just have to agree to disagree on content because 'in 2017' well, technically 2016 and 17, I got robbed by SFV. Injustice 2 and ARMS and maybe Tekken 7 are a breath of fresh air in comparison.

I have concerns it'll be that way for me as well precisely because of Pokken, but I did still find some spots interesting. I was playing the Disgaea demo while I was watching but it didn't completely lose my attention.

I think it's fair to assume not everyone is in the market for a 3D fighter. I can't argue with a free chance to double check, though.

Also I want to find out if Master Mummy finds his family. *munches popcorn*

I agree that SFV was also a rip-off at launch.

The problem is ARMS is directly comparable. Point for point.

This is a lot of thicc for Nintendo.
If this is the direction Kimishima wants to take Nintendo, then I'll cosign everything he does.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

The actuall game is whatever for me but Nintendo's character design is still pretty on point.

I still don't get why people get so annoyed by SFV when all the update content was free
You didn't pay $60 for the base game, you paid it for that and the rest of the content, it just hadn't arrived yet.
I didn't think I was an *** man.

I just thought of something. Do the Arms characters have ages?
Yes, they do; for example, MinMin is 18 and Spring Man is 20, if I am not mistaken.

Although for Master Mummy, Helix, and Byte/Barq, they don't seem to have actual human ages due to various circumstances (seems to be undead, literally a green blob, and both are robots)...

So we can ascertain the top tiers based on Smash parallels.

Ribbon Girl = :4zss:
Ninjara = :4sheik:
Byte & Barq = :rosalina:
lumaicon.png

Twintelle = :4bayonetta2:

Game that launches with lacking content at full price and expects early adopters to just have faith in the fact that the free updates will make up for it.

Also bare bones single-player so it's purely a game for social butterflies (SFV has it a little better though since it's super deep and technical so at least e-Sports junkies can get enjoyment out of it even if they don't have many friends to play with).

I think the idea is that "it's 2017" isn't the best platform to debate off of.

Considering plenty of things that aren't from 2017 are still great, it seems best to analyze things from the basis of their quality overall rather than the general time frame it was released in. Human history constantly loops and repeats without much of anything being learned, the year something is made really doesn't matter as much as it seems.

Competitive ARMS players are crying right now.

So many pieces of equipment to get for so many characters, and there are more characters and ARMS coming.

Oh, and that skate park stage? BANNED.

That item mode looks silly. Glad they didnt make that the normal mode or competitive would just die before it started lol.

masked final boss hype

Splatoon trailer looked awesome. Single player is still crazy looking with lot's of movement. Exactly what I wanted. Still day one

Nah, in 2017, I expect more from a €60 product from a AAA company who has the money to burn and has the tools that help streamline development compared to say, the GameCube days.

Expecting better tools is fair enough, but money to burn?

Is what you're saying is that you expect a company to take a loss whenever one game isn't identical in content depth to another? That doesn't sound sustainable.

For that matter, Nintendo isn't even really a AAA company. They've got a console they sell, but most of their games are actually a bit lower budget than the kind of products you get off of a major third party.

What more do you want in the game? A story mode? Perhaps the game just isn't made for you? Not every game needs a single player to be full value.

Yeah, its kind of like Overwatch.

Lots of content, just multiplayer centric.
