I just got a Hector and Julia from the Mage Mayhem banner! I can now fill the Green unit void that has been plaguing my team for so long (still love you Cherche).

Now to just try my luck at Celica and I'll have my mage team complete.

The Celica banner in Heroes has been datamined. Here's the album of the Hero art.

The Gaiden characters look pretty good overall, though something about Lloyd's feels a little off that I can't put my finger on. Either way, I look forward to getting him as I could use a good Red Sword infantry unit.

Boey even makes great inheritance fodder. He can learn Ignis AND Renewal. Yep, I think I'll train him up for now, but if I ever get Celica, he's probably going to be Inheritance Fodder for her so that she gets Renewal. I may like Boey as a character, but Soren already does an excellent job as a 5-star green tome user, so I don't see much use in Boey.

Boey has some serious bulk, though. 38 Def (with his skill) on a mage? That's insane. I wonder if the Owl tome's Def boost is counted by Ignis, like how the Spur bonus is - if so, Ignis gives him 41 extra damage every few turns, no matter if he has weapon triangle disadvantage. Even if it doesn't he still gets 36 extra damage anyway, which isn't to be sniffed at. I like the sound of him a lot, if only I could get him.

I did land a certain red-haired Zofian princess, though, so I guess I can't complain too much. You're right in that Celica definitely wants Renewal the most out of the B skills. I might also look at some other healing options like Noontime and Reciprocal Aid, just to keep her HP ticking over.

It turns out this is a banner that will come out next month.

You know the saying "June Brides"? It refers to how weddings are the most popular during the summer, so yeah, it seems like this wedding banner is going to be the special "summer banner."

And here I thought the special summer banner was going to be beach-themed. I mean, Fate/Grand Order did that...

But back on topic about the wedding banner, this is what the dateline found relating to it:

Those dragon sprites come straight from Naga's tome that Julia uses in Heroes. Maybe Julia could be one of the special banner characters, and similar to Lucina, Chrom, Xander, and Camilla's treatment in the Easter banner, Julia could wear a special wedding gown for this banner.

Yeah, I mentioned earlier on how Japan seems to take the term "June Brides" rather seriously in one of my last posts. Also, I've seen people mention that Sanaki's weapon, Cymbaline(or h/e you spell it), was also among the sprites regarding the wedding event. But I don't see any guarantees yet, considering we got Chrom with an Axe(rather than a Lance) and Lucina as a Blue Mage. I will wait and see on who is chosen for the event.
That being said, despite the whole Waifu Wars deal and whatnot, wedding dresses feel more original to me than overdone beach-themed outfits. And as I also showed, they have the potential to make some pretty badass designs for Bride designs. And that's not even counting the potential Groom outfits.

Wait. . .my attention span for most things isn't the best, so I might be getting this wrong. . .but are you saying that this game is channeling both MN9 and NMS?

Yeaaah, that. . .that's not a good sign, LOL.

Basically every time a dev runs off to go "I can make way better stuff on my own than I ever could on a big company's payroll!" it seems to end badly. At best their work is going to be forgotten compared to anything they do at a major company, at worst it's just going to be outright bad. And after MN9 anything that channels someone's previous work is going to set off a lot of flags in my mind in particular.

People get a taste of their work being popular and get it in their heads that it means that their contribution was the only one that actually mattered in the work. In the case of Kickstarters, the general public tends to buy into that narrative despite the fact that none of these people contributed more than part of what made the games work and IIRC the really major public figures didn't even do much to make the franchises what they were at all. The best faring devs that go off on their own at least have an understanding that you need to pick good staff to go with you in order for it to work, but most of them. . .don't quite seem to get that.

Having a big name does not itself make you a good dev. The best games and most successful games tend to either be from companies that actually have resources and large numbers of equally good staff members working together or from absolute nobodies that are willing to work way harder for the sake of their fandom than anyone could reasonably be expected to. If a game is riding off the name of the dev it's as bad of a sign as a movie that focuses more on the name of the actor in it than the actual premise.

And if a company is willing to rally for a game but won't cough up the cash. . .yeaaaah that's not a good sign either. Snipperclips was originally an indie title and Nintendo was perfectly fine taking that under their wing. Not like major companies are incapable of adopting smaller projects if they really like them that much.
