I just ordered my own switch! Can't wait! It comes with Zelda, the DLC, MK8, has been heroes and then shovel knight which is pretty solid. I can't wait for it!

Portable Breath of the Wild is pretty incredible.
I'd imagine. Dunno if that's enough to warrant it for me personally, though.

Are you for sure going to get a Switch? If so, just wait. Battle mode is 200% better in Deluxe and it already has all the DLC. You can probably get it on sell it or in a set with the Switch when the holiday season rolls around if that's your jam. So, yeah, Switch.
I'd really like to, but first I need to make sure I actually have a place for it in the house; I've got tons of consoles already and there's little room for any more. Granted the Switch is also portable, but still. I might not even have a good place to store it when not in usage. I still need to think about that, tbh.

And normally I would wait for the holiday season but I really don't want to wait that long just to get Breath of the Wild. With the Switch itself though.... I wouldn't mind waiting nor would I be against getting it soon as long as my money allows it. Some of it's other known games would definitely warrant it for me. Thing is a lot of them aren't released yet...

Sooo...supposedly there's been another rumour floating around regarding Metroid...

And the possibility of two games that are being developed, originally the rumours stated that Climax Studios (who's worked on Assassin's Creed, Silent Hill, and Castlavania) was working on a Metroid title...While Retro Studios was supervising Climax, as well as possibly working on either a new IP or a new Prime game (this detail was rather inconsistent between sources)...

However, Climax has since denied any involvement with a Metroid game, supposedly there is a third party developer that is indeed working on a new title...and that this title is more likely to be revealed at this e3 than a hypothetical Retro developed Prime 4...

Quite exciting news if true, BUT I'm still not getting my hopes up...I still want real news and not rumours

I'm torn as to whether I should get Breath of the Wild for the Wii U or the Switch.

Any advice? Keep in mind that I don't have a Switch yet.
If you're getting a Switch in the near future then get it for the Switch as it's worth the wait...But if you're unable to get a Switch now and you reeeeeeeaaally can't wait and wouldn't be too hurt by the limited portability then get the Wii U version....

It's really up to whether you're willing to wait and how important portability is to you...

It's pretty bad. I'm not well versed in New Vegas' Repair System, but considering there is a repair system, it's probably miles better than what you get in Breath of the Wild which doesn't allow you to repair anything. Sure others have mentioned that you'll come across more weapons than you can carry, but that honestly doesn't make it any more. It means I'm wasting more time flipping through menus rather than playing the game, especially when your carry capacity gets to real high numbers. It's annoying to have to worry about durability when you have no way to combat it aside from "more weapons"
In FO:NV, there are multiple ways of repairing your weapons. From salvaging a weapon and utilizing its parts to fix the same (or similar with the Jury Rigging perk), to creating and using Weapon Repair Kits. There's also people throughout the Mohave who can repair all your gear for a price. BotW could of easily established this in its mechanics. Hell- In TES: Oblivion, it was the simple Repair Hammer and blacksmiths who repaired your gear.

When I play an RPG, I grow attached to my gear. Telling me its not going to be able to remain in my inventory and will eventually be replaced by a fresher version doesn't sound appealing at all.

Again, my opinion is irrelevant as I have no experience with the system. But from what I've been hearing, it sounds gameplay-changing in a negative way. I'll leave it at that until I learn by hand.

The huge issue is that there aren't even all that many weapons in BotW anyways. It's not like a Bethesda game where there's tons and tons of different swords or guns. My inventory is full of Royal Swords, Broadswords, and other Royal level gear (really high level). Occasionally I find a high level elemental weapon, but in the end, I'm only ever swapping one weapon for the same exact weapon, which I'll then just find the exact same weapon to replace the weapon that broke.

Admittedly, the system is interesting when you first start the game cause it forces you to not be reckless with your weapons, but soon you're going to have enough weapons that the durability system is a nuisance than something fun and exciting.

So remember the Gundam Versus game?

Well, while the full roster is still unknown, the series that will be represented are.

Notably, there's a lack of big series like G-Gundam, SEED Destiny, 00 Season 2/movie and AGE. But we got plenty of new series in G-Reco, IBO, Thunderbolt and Build Fighters AR. There's nothing ruling them out of DLC though (especially since they know people will pay for huge fan favorites like God Gundam, 00 Raiser, Strike Freedom Gundam and Destiny.)

Overall, this is a pretty nice selection for a soft reboot.

>my response every time I hear that a new Metroid rumor has appeared right before E3.

I mean, nothing against you of course, but really. Why is it always ****ing Metroid?
Possibly because people are still waiting for a new Metroid game...And the (maybe false) hope that Nintendo will actually deliver...

I mean this time we got a brand new system released by Nintendo with sky high expectations, coupled with the high demand for a new Metroid game...now's a pretty damn good time for Nintendo to show a Metroid title if they are indeed working on one...

Metroid Prime 4 is almost on the same level as Half Life 3 at this point...

Honestly I've just given up hope there's gonna be another Metroid. Nintendo clearly doesn't give a **** about the series anymore, and any rumors at this point just kinda feel like rubbing salt in the wound

Yes, releasing a new game with a cliffhanger ending surely means they no longer give a ****.

Seriously, there's pessimistic and than there's just bitter.

I'm not jumping on the dual Metroid game rumor, nor even getting invested in any one specific studio working on the IP, but I do believe a Metroid game is coming, and I do believe we'll see it at E3.

Am I crazy? Yes. But that's beside the point. Because there's a new Metroid coming. :D

Despite teases from Retro themselves? And actual legit rumors and speculation? Yeah, sure man, just don't be super surprised if you see something at E3.

It's sweet that y'all are using your spicy memes to describe being sour but really salty and bitter seem rather interchangeable.

Maybe I was being a little bitter. Sorry about that, I didn't mean for that to come out like that. It popped into my head to say that before I actually thought about if it was a good idea to say it. Please forgive me for speaking without thinking.

Now now....

Nintendo's shown us that they've at least acknowledged the demand for a new Metroid which is a hell of a lot more than can be said about a lot of other IP's they haven't worked on for a while...

Federation Force still exists, as much as many fans want to believe the game never happened, it did...

Of course as a big myself there's a few things they've could've done better (but there's things they could've done better across the board and not just for Metroid

Whether they'll show something at e3 is still up in the air...my current expectations are an e3 reveal at best, if not maybe we'll see something as late as next year's e3...I do believe they are working on something for Metroid because despite how poorly the Wii U did, I don't see Nintendo at least not toying with the idea of a game for the system (which could lead to them pushing the game to the Switch if that's the case)....

At least give it till e3...we've waited several years prior to Fed Force's release...we can survive at least a month...

Yeah, Federation Force totally didn't just come out last year.
Silly goose, Federation Force is Nintendo's way of saying they hate Metroid, they keep releasing terrible games like that and Other M so people will stop wanting a Metroid game and just forget about the franchise, but their plan clearly isn't working.

So if anybody's interested, update on the whole Electoral Fraud thing from the UK, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), decided not to prosecute, due to lack of evidence. This doesn't mean the Tory party is innocent, cause they were still fined in the 2015 Election for their lack of mismanagement and such. There's just currently not enough to get a case going on it.

Not having G-Gundam is lame. I wanted the ERUPTING...BURNING...FINGER!!! That and Maxter Gundam is pretty cool.

How else will the east become burning red?

Very true...Upon reflection the situation probably isn't as gloom and doom as my mind makes it out to be. I apologize again for the exaggeration. Sometimes I have a tendency to put up a barrier of "Prepare yourself for the worst thing" because that just seems like a safe bet. I do see your point about waiting for E3, but I'm still witholding reservation until I really see something tangible. Teases and rumors and leaks don't really hold much water anymore to me. I'm probably too pessimistic, but even so. I apologize for the rambling I did tonight, I've just had a little too much caffeine and my mind didn't really register that wasn't a great thing to say. Just consider that drunk rambling.

The biggest point in favour of a Metroid being revealed this year, in my opinion, is Reggie voluntarily bringing up the series and insinuating the situation would be different in a year's time. I've seen some people chalk this up to typical PR talk, but typically people give the "our fans are very important to us and we haven't forgotten about the IP but have nothing to announce at this time" song and dance. This is not what Reggie said. Well, it's not the extent of what Reggie said, as he did say some of that stuff, lol. Moreover, he himself was the one to raise Metroid.

If nothing else, the discrepancies from standard, nothing-on-the-horizon response are intriguing.

Salt is delicious.
As with everything, salt is best applied in moderation and onto the correct objects.

Now, is what I said a pretentious metaphor for life, or just cooking advice? :4megaman:

I'm torn as to whether I should get Breath of the Wild for the Wii U or the Switch.

Any advice? Keep in mind that I don't have a Switch yet.
I would say, get it for Wii U. Besides some technical enhancements provided by the Switch hardware (such as 900p when docked over 720p on Wii U), there is nothing that makes the game different on either console, besides the Switch's portability, but that's more or less a hardware advantage. But the thing is, Switch isn't worth the money right now... unless you don't mind waiting a lot of time for the games you want to come out, I wouldn't get it during this time. You can already play Mario Kart 8 on Wii U just fine too, so why bother getting the newer version as well? Unless you're interested in playing the online multiplayer, or battle mode for a long period of time, I guess.

You may choose to wait for the Switch later in the year, when it has a decent library of software to play. But if you don't want to wait to play Breath of the Wild, then get it on Wii U.

Keep in mind I am only listing my thoughts on here.

I was on the same fence as you a few months ago, but I finally settled on Wii U anyways because I can play the game on that system just fine. I can sacrifice the Switch's portability factor if I want to play Breath of the Wild on my current home console.

I used the same analogy in conversation today, only it was to someone who had no idea what I was talking when I mentioned Metroid.
