There's supposed to be Midwest Mayhem today, and I'm sad because I'm taking an ACT today, and also because even though I do live in the Midwest I'm too far away from Chicago.

I think a video game store just lost me as a customer. I pre-ordered the Fire Emblem Echoes Limited edition on the next day it was announced as it was announced very late the night before, meaning I pre-ordered on the 22nd. I was told that I could pre-order the regular version for now and that I'd get a phone call when it was available. Fastforward to today, I noticed they added it on their site! But no pre orders were available anymore. I try calling them but get stuck on hold for longer than 5 minutes, all I got was "With Game Mania, please wait a minute" before being ditched. Then I learn about how they do special editions because of their site, I was still waiting on the phone. They call people who pre-ordered the regular version based off of chronological order of the pre orders if they're interested. THE WHOLE ****ING POINT OF A LIMITED EDITION IS LIMITED QUANTITY AND YOU'RE GIVING PRIORITY TO THE PEOPLE WHO MIGHT NOT HAVE EVEN KNOWN IT EXISTED BEFORE THE PERSON WHO ASKED AS EARLY AS ANYONE POSSIBLY COULD SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT VERSION OF THE ****ING GAME.

And I thought Marshadow would be the star of the next Pokemon movie after this one. Well, this was certainly surprise. Makes me wonder who will star in the following Pokemon movie now that the only mythical legendary other than Magearna got a movie.

Also, Piplup and Lucario will appear in the movie? Looks like we got some more hints for Sinnoh remakes.

And even Incineroar appears! Ever since the 10th Pokemon movie, there has been a trend where all of the final evolution starters of the newest generation appear in the first movie of that generation. It looks like this movie will continue this trend, so I'm guessing we'll be seeing Decidueye and Primarina here as well.

It's clear this movie is retelling the beginning of Ash's adventure with some major new twists to that story. Can't wait to watch it!

Wow, I didn't expect some of the news we got yesterday. A couple thoughts about this I had were:
-As said before, with Marshadow, GF has played their entire hand with this one movie as all of the Event Pokémon (Ash-Pikachu and Marshadow) are now set to be promoted for it. With that, that most likely means that this generation will be pretty short as the last events getting their own movie usually indicates a new generation not being far off (ex. Volcanion being revealed and then us getting Sun/Moon the next year) and I doubt they'll keep it going without anything 'new' to push.
-With that said, I think we're still getting one more game for this generation, the question is just what is said game. Will they go the B2W2 route and end it off with a third version/sequel like Stars? We do have some rumors supporting it, though there have been more doubts about it lately due to what happened at the Switch event. Will they go the ORAS route and cap it off with DP remakes? Piplup (and to a lesser extent Lucario, as he essentially shares the secondary mascot role with Charizard nowadays) being in the movie is eyebrow-raising and curious since we don't have any other Pokémon from Gen 3, 5, or 6 getting a major role yet, so this could be an opportunity to give them hype before their remakes hit. Or could it even be Kanto sequels? I know a lot of fans are offput by another Kanto visit, but it would make sense to follow up this movie with a new Kanto game, particularly since the movie isn't just a straight remake of Kanto's events from the anime which could allow for some elements in it to be repeated in the games. It also would allow us to follow Lillie's story in another region, which could allow for some loose ends to be tied up in those games that weren't in Sun/Moon and play on the nostalgia hype that some have for the games after the success of Go. I personally feel it's either "Stars" or the DP remakes, but I won't throw out the possibility of a Kanto revisit.
-The movie itself has gotten more interesting, I didn't mind it being a retelling of the Kanto anime, but seeing that they're adding new elements to be explored makes it a bit more exciting to me. In particular I do want to see what they do with Ho-Oh as they seem to be focusing on it a lot with the new character and the trailers, so hopefully what they lead up to with it will be very nice to see.
-Will we finally learn the secret identity of Ash's father!?

Either way, I'm curious to see where things go from here, we're kind of in the same uncertain position we were with the Volcanion movie a little over a year ago, so it's going to be interesting to see how things will play out for the rest of this generation.

This YouTube Ad is driving me nuts. It's a complete Pokémon knockoff android mobile game... How can Nintendo slip this one out?
I have seen many fake Pokémon mobile apps before, but this is just ridiculous.

I got a question about Xbox One's backwards compatibility, and I've asked this before and never got an answer. I've tried looking into it but I'm finding nothing.

When you buy, or have, a physical copy of an Xbox 360 game that's confirmed backwards compatible, do you require to be online to play the game?

Now, I'm not asking about how to download it. I'm already fairly certain that downloading it requires internet. What I'm asking is do you need an online connection to play the 360 game?

I'm asking because when I start the game up, despite it being fully downloaded, the game will reset itself back to the Xbox One home screen after going into the Xbox 360 screen. It looks like a bug. I get no warning messages or anything. BUT when I'm online, it works just fine. In fact I can disconnect from online after I've reached the title screen of the 360 game. Which makes zero sense to me.

In short: the game is downloaded, the disc is inserted, but the game resets the console unless I'm online. What is going on here?

Often times these types of international copyright suits would cost more money than GameFreak would be willing to lose. It sucks, but that's why the whole "Chinese bootleg" thing is so common.

Makes me glad Nintendo, Sony, & Microsoft have quality control on their devices/services..

On another note, I had to buy a strategy guide for Breath of the Wild. I haven't bought a guide in years prior to this but the big ass size of the game is just too overwhelming for me.

Although I never watched this show when I was younger, I am well aware on how successful it was.
