>Conquest Lunatic Classic Chapter 18
>On about Turn 13, doing good so far. Already defeated the two bosses that are paired up, guarding the door at the bottom, on my way to defeat the other boss at the top.
>Set myself up to deal with the Heroes and Sorcerers on the way to the top boss. Have a good set up.
>Sorcerer confronts Silas
>50% Hit Rate, 21% Crit Rate. Of course Silas gets rekt by the Crit (he would have survived the normal attack fine, only 14 damage and I think Silas had like 30+ HP). Silas even had Weapon Advantage.
>Hero comes down and goes for Shura, who was paired up with the now rekt Silas. Can survive the normal attack fine...except the Hero had a 3% Crit Rate and Shura gets rekt.
>Another Sorcerer then can take Shura's space, uses that and then Camilla gets rekt.

Accurate visual representation of that series of unfortunate events:

The only Sorcerers and Heros you should be fighting at the same time on that map are the two pairs that are on Guard Stance
The others should all be taken care of by differemt groups
More pros I can add:
-Not a typical magic girl anime that dudes might not enjoy. (I know that there were other magical girls anime that were very popular, but they were never for both genders)
-Yes, Harry Potter fans (Like me) will find this anime have some sort of references to Harry Potter, some might find it cringy, but for me I enjoy it.
-Kind of odd that "no fanservice" is a pro lol. This really depends, there will be some people have zero interest for LWA because there's no fanserice... I mean if you really want those, go look at some fanarts... BTW I am fine that they put fanservice "out of the story/anime" rather "in the story/anime"
-Old/New anime homage, especially in that Sucy episode.
-Yeah, the main reason why I got interest in Little Witch Academia was because of that "Academia"title, like I said before I feel like I had an "Academia buff..."and rule 63 of Deku is slightly far fetched... just slightly. Sure both Akko and Deku got their motivation from a single idol (And both still alive for now). But unlike Deku, Akko didn't get Shiny Chariot's advice in person (Yet). Their biggest difference is possibly their mental way of thinking? Akko is like Dashing through a straight line whereas Deku often thinks before he leaps, which both aren't perfect and can backfire sometimes. And Akko is optimistic whereas Deku tends to be pessimistic a bit.
-Most characters are well designed, especially when you try to design characters from different countries, and best of all, they don't look typical... I'm not trying to be racist or anything but LWA never really has a character that will make you feel he or she is from a certain group or country. Did anyone even guess that our fan favorite girl Sucy is from South asia according to Wikipedia? I didn't know Constanze was from Germany/Deutschland until I check Wikipedia...that made me like her more, and also explains why she is an engineer.
-Funny because it has a feature that TRIGGER is good at: Fast pace comedy, which is also a thing that American cartoon tends to have. So it may sound dumb but, to me watching LWA is like watching old episodes...

Only potential cons I can think of is that it will be tiring if the plot continues on with Akko screwing things up...this may be one of her trait, but I hope that can slightly chance afterward. Otherwise...

Yes, no cons at all.
Wants to be a witch/super hero since they first saw their idols when they were kids
Gets on school about becoming one
Her/his idol is one of the teachers
Doesn't have any natural talent because they weren't born with magical power/a Quirk
The one they idolise pass down something for them(Shiny Rod/One For All)
Struggle to control their new powers
Jim Sterling brought up an interesting point about the whole Pewdiepie and Jontron things
He made a hypothetical if an actor did those things and how people would react. He himself admits the things Pewdiepie and Jontron did aren't the same, as Pewd's was just a stupid joke gone wrong. Youtubers are celebrities now, more kids would know who they are than say, Jennifer Lawrence, so they should be treated like other celebrities. He also pointed out that the right to free speech has been confused with 'the right to say whatever you want without consequences whatsoever' which isn't the case
Good thing someone gets it
Both points actually, I keep seeing people talk about how what Jon said doesn't effect anyone and that he had all the right to say it.
People need to stop with this fetishization of free speech

I never played bomberman in my life so idk how to play pff is it a good beginner game?
The controls are simple and your objectives are clear (bomb some ****). Having strategy skills will help.

Like I said I'm rusty from years of lack of playing this isn't asking too much.

Why not all of them???
JK, I think it's more possible that Rex (Not final name) from Xenoblade Chronciles 2 might be the next new characters.
Xenoblade 2 will be taken cared of later since we know so little of the cast so far (even Rex, Homura, and the cat girl).

I'l definitely going to make an X themed poll in a half hour.

Though you aren't wrong that a Xenoblade 2 character is much more likelier for now.

Recent events as of late has got me thinking about politics in media in general. While there are some that would argue for the complete separation of politics and media. Not only do I think this is impossible (media is created by people with their own views on the world, no matter), great works often are political in their nature. Bioshock, a beloved game from last generation, was a pretty obvious commentary on objectivism and Ayn Rand. Trying to remove politics from games would take away from the medium and its potential to tell stories and convey a message. You may or may not agree with the politics of particular game/movie/book/whatever, but the world be a little less richer without media the explores such subject matter.

I have an extra XBone and a Wii U I'll never use. I may go for this and nab BotW
>Be me
>Excited to trade in Wii U for Switch
>Turns on Wii U for the first time in months
>Open up settings menu and select "Delete all Content & Settings"
>Imagines all the fun I'll have running around as cute trap Link, fighting off the forces of evil
>Wii U Bricks
>ThisIsFine.jpg

M-Maybe Gamestop will still take it.

Ninja'd: You've got to be kidding me.

New Extra Credit dropped, I think this is something important for people who demand that politics stay out of games to realize.

And no, just because you can cherrypick a handful of games doesn't make their point any less valid

I think you're missing something big: When people say "remove politics" what they're actually referring to is "remove politics I don't agree with".

Edit: Darn it, of course a top comment says the exact same statement. :p

About video games and politics. MGS alone proves they shouldnlt be separated

lmao nichegamer made a complete fool of himself, in his BotW review he says "This is bad design and less intelligent people would label this as hard" and saying anyone who likes is brainwashed or a complete 'Nintendrone' while being in denial about insulting fans. Someone called him out and he's going "I didn't insult anyone, you can interpret that however you like" and calling everyone stupid who says it's an insult

Very much so indeed. Like I mentioned before, it's alright to disagree with something. Hell, if everything suited to just your taste and politics (or anyone else's for that matter), it would be a pretty boring world. As long as things remain civil, disagreement is natural and perfectly fine.

Of course, this is the internet, so good luck with that! :061:

Might as well give my own thoughts on the Fresh Princess of Wild Air while I'm around.

It was a good game. Not the best game, not even the best Zelda game, just a good game.

Maybe my expectations were too high going in, I didn't make it a point to avoid spoilers, but I still went in mostly blind. Booting up the game and walking out of the cave to a big open world was nice at first, then I got all the items I was ever going to get in the game right from the get-go. It's a Zelda game, certainly, but it hardly feels like one at times, even more-so than something like Majora's Mask. My first few hours entailed scouring Hyrule to find the towers and fill in the map, and the whole time I was expecting to come across a dungeon hidden away. Not a single one. I eventually ended up in Zora's Domain and did that
Divine Beast, but was that really meant to be the dungeon? There's only four of them, like Majora's Mask, but they were over in minutes, they all looked exactly the same, and they all played exactly the same. It was really jarring, going from the overworld where there's absolutely no hand holding and you have to figure out what to do on your own, to the "dungeons" where they keep nagging you on to "get the map, now find the terminals. One terminal, ah ah ah, two terminals, ah..." What happened there?

Continuing on from the dungeons but this also branches off into the rest of the game... the enemy variety, or lack thereof. Four bosses, and they're all basically just this game's Phantom Ganon. All four of them. Did they blow their creative budget on the oh so unique dungeons? The rest of the enemies are no better, 90% of the time I'm fighting Bokoblins, Moblins, or Lizalfos in every colour of the rainbow, at least until end-game when there's practically nothing but silver enemies running around. There's the rare Wizzrobe that I pretty much never come across (and thought was a Poe at first glance), there's the field bosses, which come in a grand variety of "slightly different rocks," four sand fish, things, and "giant regular enemy." Chus, Keese, pro-sniper Octoroks... But where is everything else? Stal versions of most of the enemies, but no regular Stalfos? Like Likes were such an obvious choice in a game where your weapons can break anyway that their absence is just baffling. Not a single Redead, Gibdo, or even Poe or Skulltula, surely they could have thought of some use for Poe souls and Skulltula tokens instead of just having 900 Korok seeds. Variety is the spice of life, y'know? I could keep listing off old Zelda enemies, but I think I made that point clear enough. I can at least hope that they add more enemies with the DLC.

At first, the combat was fresh, new and fun, until it clicked that it was exactly the same as it's always been but with weapons breaking, massive hitstun, and enemies having no hitstun, making it feel harder than it is. Maybe it's just how I played the game, but in the beginning I was just avoiding enemies because I didn't want my weapons to break, in the middle of the game I was farming enemies and now I have a full inventory of Royal gear because everything drops it now, and I've ended up avoiding enemies again because it's just a chore to go out of my way to fight a simple Bokoblin with a beefier health bar than a boss. At the start of the game, you've got this nice variety, oh you can magnet a box and smash enemies, or shoot a lantern and blow them all up, but by the time silver enemies take over, that's barely going to put a scratch on them.

The real meat of the game is exploring the overworld, but even that's started to wear out, but that's probably my own fault because of my completionist nature. It might be too big, definitely too empty. Climbing was great at first, and still is one of the best ways to get around a game since ever, but I don't think they handled it very well. Instead of just upgrading your stamina, they should have had new gear to make climbing better, and I don't mean the armor. The clawshot was begging to be in this game, climb halfway up a mountain and target a tree to zip up the rest of the way, maybe it would have been broken, but they could have made it end-game gear, anything to break up the monotony. The lack of that feeling of progression in older Zeldas from getting a new item is palpable in this game, I was constantly wanting something, anything, but never got it. Even the Master Sword was a disappointment, I find the Lost Woods, get to the Deku Tree, then I need to grind shrines to bring my hearts up enough to pull the thing out, only to have a subpar sword that breaks like any other (albeit with a recharge, at least). Why is it that in all the advertising, the Master Sword is rusted, but when you get it, it's brand new? I know it was rusted in that one scene where Zelda brings it there, but they made it seem like it would have more significance, like you'd have to go around the world and gather something to fix it, something like what they did in Skyward Sword, but nope.

One of my biggest disappointments is actually the lack of any underwater segments. I know water temples usually get a lot of flak and I guess they were trying to avoid that in this game, but it just feels so... incomplete. This giant world you can explore in so many different ways, but Link suddenly has super drowning skills. It felt so wrong being able to drown in full Zora armor. Why is swimming so pitiful in this game? You swim slower than molasses and drown the second you run out of stamina, like they wanted to use it as a natural barrier. Then you realize you can just freeze the water and jump across, but what's the point? Why not just let Link swim instead of making him jump across an ice bridge? The rest of this game makes anything to do with water feel so lacking. I can climb the tallest mountain, soar across vast expanses of air, but I need ice blocks to get across a tiny pond. It felt like a no brainer for Zora armor to make you swim like you could as Zora Link, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. Maybe it's just a minor nitpick and maybe it's just me that cares, but I like swimming in games, y'know?

Story is still pretty typical Zelda, despite everything else being so massively different. It's definitely not Majora's Mask level of amazing, but it's not bad. It just exists, go kill Ganon because reasons yo. The balance maybe felt off a bit, Mipha obviously got the most attention, it's the only part of the game where you actually get an item required to progress, albeit just the Zora armor. The Gorons felt somewhat lacking in comparison to previous games, and the Gerudo got a lot more than they ever have, and everythings all fine and dandy until you get to the Rito. They just kinda exist, they're there, go and do the thing. It's weird, maybe because the entire game revolves around an Ice/Fire/Lightning sorta thing and the Zora, Goron, and Gerudo have that covered respectively, and the Rito just kinda have... wind? They just feel tacked on in comparison, I dunno.

This last problem shouldn't even be a problem, if I expect anything from Nintendo, it's quality. This game was delayed how many times? Oh god, the framerate is atrocious in some areas. Anywhere near the Deku Tree brings the game to a slow crawl, and in Hyrule Castle I was dropping to 0 FPS, I seriously thought my game froze at first. Even just randomly traveling around the game I'd get the occasional frame drop. I don't know if this is just a thing with the Switch version or what, but I can somewhat forgive it for mostly only being in areas of the game where I spent little time. 95% of the game ran perfectly fine.

My final, overall thoughts. This game has potential, it's screaming potential at every corner. An absolutely mind-blowing game is hiding behind a lackluster but admirable first attempt. I really hope they take what they've learned with this game and make something really, truly special with the next go. As of right now, I'm just hoping they add some neat stuff with DLC so I can squeeze some more time out of this game while I wait for Odyssey.

TL;DR, good game, not the best game ever, not even the best Zelda game ever. Might give ALttP a run for its money for the spot of my second favorite Zelda game, but Majora's Mask still reins as my all-time favorite.

Mumkhar won with no problem. This is no surprise since I felt he is the villain that impacted the game's plot the most and for good reasons. A Wolverine clawed psychopath is a perfect fit for Smash.

Complete with his equally crazy Face Mechon suit

Now we are exploring the hip and more Western Xenoblade X, which may be weaker but still an awesome adventure. Your choices are Cross, Elma, Doug, and Gwin. Given the cast is just as big as its predecessor, I'll focus on the characters that are important and has popularity going for them. So yes, Lin and Lao will be handled later.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Meanwhile, I'm still awaiting my Switch order because it's a *****.

Bruh.

You really put in Doug there?

He's easily the most generic and cookie cutter of the main characters. Irina would've been a better pick for this poll.

Eh whatever I guess it doesn't matter I'll be extremely shocked if Elma doesn't take this.

That's not necessarily the case.

Found a way to lure out the heroes and the maids to dispatch them on their own.

Camilla with a Dual Club destroys all of the Sorcerers just fine on her own, even when under the effects of Enfeeble

Granted, this took Silas getting an unlucky Crit AGAIN to figure this out, but now I know how to get by so it's fine (last time Camilla got rekt on the Enemy Phase with another weapon equipped after Silas was destroyed so I couldn't test this).

I think you guys are using the wrong kind of politics in your examples. There's no huge outrage over the main political themes of games like Bioshock amd MGS.

Now if you make a female character distinctly attractive or unattractive....

Welp. Here's the press release for the EU version of Hacker's Memory. Just like the original, there's no dub (even though Next Order had one).
The North American one shouldn't be far behind.

So I had some free time and decided I'd do something I said I'd do a while ago.

I decided to rank the Walt Disney Animation Studios' animated canon, which consists of 56 films. Well, I ranked 54 of them anyway. I'm waiting until Moana hits Netflix in a few months to watch it (my friend wants to see it too, so I said I'd wait so we could see it together) and beyond that, I just haven't had time to track down Bolt yet.

So yeah. Also keep in mind that some of the rankings close to each other are interchangeable and that I really enjoy at least fifty of the fifty four listed below, so being in the bottom half isn't a death knell. :p

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Tangled
Beauty and the Beast
The Jungle Book
Wreck-It Ralph
The Lion King
Aladdin
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Zootopia
Frozen
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Mulan
Hercules
Lilo & Stitch
The Princess and the Frog
The Emperor's New Groove
Bambi
Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland
The Great Mouse Detective
Tarzan
Treasure Planet
Big Hero 6
Fantasia 2000
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Cinderella
The Little Mermaid
Lady and the Tramp
Sleeping Beauty
The Fox and the Hound
The Sword in the Stone
The Rescuers Down Under
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Meet the Robinsons
101 Dalmatians
Oliver and Company
Pocahontas
Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros
The Rescuers
Brother Bear
The Aristocats
Make Mine Music
Melody Time
Robin Hood
Fun and Fancy Free
The Black Cauldron
Chicken Little
Home on the Range
Dinosaur

It's hard to rank the compilation films more than anything else, since you need to look at the whole package. But anyway, yeah. Fun times. :D

And I am happy to say that I have finished Bravely Default. One of my favourite RPGs by far to date.

I was really unamused with the plot twist at the end, but still I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The story, the characters, the music, the world are all fantastic.

The battle system is fun. The addition of Brave and Default, the namesake of the title were interesting enough on their own, but the job system is where the game truly shines. The combinations you come up with at the end are pretty much unique to you. The subquests required to get each job are also very well integrated into the world. Never does it feel forced or out of place.

I didn't get all the classes by the end, settling on a rather simple combination at the end.

Tiz - White Mage with Time Mage (the healer)
Ringabel - Black Mage with Freelancer (the glass cannon)
Agnès - Monk with Ranger (the lightning bruiser)
Edea - Knight with Spell Fencer (the stone wall)

One of the game's strengh is how it was able to make dungeon crawling accessible. I couldn't get into Etrian Odyssey, but I found myself enjoying exploring the dungeons in BD. The variety of chests scattered throughout really make exploring feel rewarding.

The world building is great. Luxendarc is truly a living, breathing world. Every location has a unique touch to it - Caldisla, Eternia, Hartschild, Ancheim, Florem. Each has it's own feel, its own problems to deal with, its own way of living and ruling. Perhaps to drive the point home, Tiz, Agnès and Edea are all from different places.

Then, the story. It's really well-scripted and well-written. The problems the people face, their motivations, all feel real. It's seriously dark too. I was too used to the idea of defeating enemies as just that, defeating them. Here, it's straight up death. The game is fully voice acted too, so you will hear their dying words in full sombre detail. It has one my favourite stories in any game I played, despite me not liking the ending. Character development is handled exceptionally and you will grow really attached to all four of the cast.

Now I should mention the music. Absolutely top notch. Favourites are Tiz's theme and Hartschild theme. Though honestly, every song in the game is worth listening to. And you'll never get tired of them.

Now a word on the mechanics. The game is really good at avoiding player frustration. Shows a lot of developer foresight in that regard. The game lets you adjust everything from enemy spawn rate to difficulty to suit how you play the games. And with how easy is it to gain levels in the game, very rarely will you come across a situation that frustrates you.

So, were the 60 hours I spent on the game worth it? Absolutely.

Now on to Fire Emblem Awakening.

I don't mind politics in my media, even ones I disagree with.

I just get annoyed when said politics devolve into drawing lines in the sand which a lot of modern media does nowadays.

It's hard to rank the compilation films more than anything else, since you need to look at the whole package. But anyway, yeah. Fun times. :D
Lilo and Stitch is in the top half? I'm proud of you Opopo! I'd give you cake if I could, but I don't think it likes being shipped to your place

Brad Pitt seems like he'd be too expensive for Cable.

Unless that's why it has a much bigger budget than the forst one.

Bruh.

You really put in Doug there?

He's easily the most generic and cookie cutter of the main characters. Irina would've been a better pick for this poll.

Eh whatever I guess it doesn't matter I'll be extremely shocked if Elma doesn't take this.
Hell, even I can admit he's the weakest character next to Tatsu.

At least Irina will be put next to Lao and Lin tonight.

It'd be cool if they did like they did for OOT/MM with the next Zelda and release it on the Switch but used everything from BotW to make a new game.

Hopefully one with multiple actual dungeons that you can play in any order.

So, Awakening question.

Did anyone else find Regna Ferox ruled by khans weird?

It's a strange mix of European and Persian naming styles.
