To give my 5 cents on the matter. My thought that, Xenoblade 2 character design is honestly quit inconsistant.
Sometime, you have character that are very well designed and don't go overdetail. (Like Nia, Tora, Poppi a, Morag, Brighid (hear me out before rising your pitchfork))
And on the other hand, you have design that have just too much stuff into them and make them ridiculous. (Pyra, Mythra, Dalhia, Theory, Praxis)
In the whole, this mash-up of good and bad design is mostly due to how many different artists worked on so many different characters and put their own touch while for some not caring how the final result would look with the other character. (Hi, Dalhia!)
That being say, beside a very few designs that I am not a fan of. I really like most of the characters designs in Xenoblade 2. Yeah, even Pyra (I even have a theory as to why her design is so fanservice. Buuuuuuuut there would be some big spoilers in it. And I want to polish it before posting it). Plus, Xenoblade 2 does sometimes make female character with sexy design that make sense. The best character to show off that is Brighid. Because contrary to Pyra, who is supposed to be shy and innocent, which her design doesn't reflect. Brighid is a mature woman who doesn't eat her words and is serious most of the time. In her case, her design being so fanservice make sense. Since she probably doesn't care about what others think of her (or atleast not that much), she is a warrior, the strongest blade of the empire and Lady Morag. She is going to care more about whooping your ass if you don't follow rules, instead of blushing in the middle of a battle and saying some **** like, "H-hey! Don't look at my boobs, y-you baka!". Hell no, I would hate that.
One last point, her being so fanservice while Morag is everything but fanservice, and being a woman on top of that make that. The two really work well with each other, personality or design wise. They are both perfect. (in my opinion)
On the note of fanservice, I tend to think about it with these criteria:
-Does it fit the character it's attached to?
-Is it cohesive to the environment it's placed in whether in terms of the setting and situation as well as the design of other characters?
-Does it get to the point of distraction?
The first I feel is very important, if you're going to attach fanservice to a character it has to fit the character it's attached to. If a character is going to be played as fanservice, then they have to incorporate character and/or story traits that would benefit from having such a design. If they don't have that, then the design clashes with the character herself and may hurt the character's presentation. One character that's a good example of it not fitting is Nyx in Fates, she's supposed to be a character that laments being cursed and chooses to stay away from others and not draw attention to herself... which negatively contrasts with her design since everything about it doesn't fit those personality traits. Her design ends up being tone deaf since it doesn't go well with what the character is supposed to be, and as a result the fanservice comes off as pointless since she's just looking sexy because the game is trying to force her into the role. On the opposite end, a character like Sonya in Echoes is fine because she embraces her good looks and wants to be looked at, so the fanservice works there since she looks good and it fits with what they want her to be, and it's probably because of that why Sonya happens to be a popular character from the game rather then base-breaking or outright hated like previous fanservice characters.
The second is related, if the design lacks cohesion with the world and other characters it's placed in, it will stand out in a negative way. Above all else, you have to have designs that work well with the world you're trying to build and the cast you're trying to make and fanservice should never come at the expense of that cohesion. Kill La Kill works because the series is built on a world of absurdity and the sexualization just adds to that, so when you have designs like Ryuko or Satsuki don outfits that greatly expose their bodies it doesn't take you out of the show or feels completely out of place, it fits what the show wants to be and doesn't clash with the themes or narrative. On the flip side, one of the problems (and it was brought up by Alucard and a couple other users) with Xenoblade 2's designs is that the fanservice designs lack that cohesion. The fanservice feels thrown in and it ends up clashing with the design of other characters, thus making the fanservice lose its point and causing fans to dislike its presence. If that cohesion was there, Xenoblade 2's designs would've likely been more accepted, but due to the lack of a concrete direction for all of them you have multiple designs that end up not fitting with each other.
Finally, and this is more subjective as it comes down to individual tolerance, it shouldn't be to the point of distraction. If fanservice is going to be present, it has to be done in a way where it doesn't take away from what's happening in the story and it fits the moment where you insert it in. You want your audience to be receptive to the fanservice and not feel offput by it, and If it comes up and you notice and cringe at it, then it's not doing its job. For a personal example, Camilla's scene in Fates I feel is a good example of this since while the game doesn't hide that she's supposed to be fanservice, she contrasts the other sibling's scenes in a negative way since unlike Hinoka, Leo, Ryoma or the like where they get an introduction scene that showcases them ready for battle, you get a scene where it focuses on her features and obsession instead. I personally felt this scene did not gel well with the tone of the game since the entire thematic of the game is that you're facing off against your loved ones because the decision you made forces you to do so and seeing the siblings in scenes like the others helped emphasize that. Camilla's scene doesn't succeed in that endeavor and is instead pretty jarring since it contrasts the others by just being blatant fanservice with little emotion to it, and as a result it hurts her scene, the character and the story attached to it.
In short, fanservice has its place, but the creator has to be sure that the place it's in works for what they want their story to be. It has to fit the characters it's attached to, it has to fit the story and the moments it's attached to, and it has to not get to the point of distracting you from the story. If the fanservice works within the creation that's being made, then there is no issue with it being present, it's just a matter of finding that balance and making sure it works within the work that's being done. If you can find its place, then it has its place, if not then you risk harming the work that you're trying to make.
NY!Corrin is the Tempest unit. And he's a 40% Unit as well. All NY!Units are 40% while Ryoma, Hinoka, Sakura and Alfonse are 20% units. Although that sentence...
Mind telling us who theprince of Hoshido is, IS? And possibly who the princesses are?
Also, a free Wind Blessing....are they planning a free Gunnthra at some point, cause otherwise that Wind Blessing isn't going to be useful anytime soon.
Well, I was right! NY!Corrin is indeed the Tempest award!
"So now that this is the New Years themed Tempest Trial, and I still have my trusted ol' Takumi, I'm sure they'll let us use all the Hoshidan royals for bonus units-"
*Sees that NY!Takumi is the only version of Takumi to be a bonus unit*
*Remembers that I still have no luck pulling NY!Takumi in FE Heroes.*
Damn it! I don't have any bonus units for this coming Tempest Trials! It would be NY!Takumi, but he still hasn't come home.
It almost feels like IS is rubbing salt in my wound...

Such is the punishment of going against the grain and pre-ordering the physical copy... Looks like I have to wait another day. Welp, to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber I go then...
I played a couple matches aaaaaand ohgo****sthesmoothestfightinggameiveplayedinagesitfeelssogood
*ahem*
It's pretty freaking good. Haven't been able to get into too many matches because people either cancel on me or it takes forever, but the tutorial has been keeping me busy. Sadly haven't been able to use everyone since the tutorial sticks you with Goku/Young Gohan/Krillin.
But I did get to use Adult Gohan and he's fun, got to land the Family Kamehameha at one point so that was nice.
In other misc news, there's a lot of references in the alt colors. Vegeta has the weird Toei coloring from early Z episodes, Goku has the gis from his kid days (both the old light blue one and the dark red one from when he entered in his first tournament), Kid Buu has an Uub color, Beerus has Whis and Champa alts. There's probably more I'm missing but this is pretty cool.
Just won my first set on the Dragon Ball Fighter Z beta and I'm on such a high because of it. I've never had so much fun playing a fighting game in such a long time.
>be me
>grinded Tiger!Tiger! for hours by doing perfect on perfect on stage 1 and 2.
>customize Poppi a and QT so much that, you decide to play Tora to see how much better he is now.
>fight a enemy of level 50
>the enemy attack me with three big attack in a row
>all of them deal like, 0 damage to me.
>realize you made Tora/Poppi a monster of HP.
>
I'm liking Tiger! Tiger! more and more when I see the result for playing it this much.
Here we are as Captain Ginyu somewhere in the middle of the body change mission, spanking a fat, green, worthless sack.
I'm still not all that familiar with the controls. I'd say I'm learning, but I'm really not; I'm just putting all my points into basic attacks and spamming mouse clicks until things work.
And although its consistency leaves something to be desired, if someone's up on me, I can spam spacebar and left clicks and find myself behind them and pounding their ass. Sometimes. Apparently only works when the engine's in the mood.
I've also learned that the E button does nothing, ever; the Q button does nothing, mostly; and holding shift to fly everywhere is the MLG strat.
Also Ginyu's got a special called, and I quote, Milky Cannon.
I'm not even going to quip on that, I'm just going to let it speak for itself.
Just ranked up from Saibamen to Earthling, feeling pretty good about myself. It's kind of odd how they give you obscenely large amounts of BP for winning a ranked set tbh.

My guess is that Blades, in comparison to the non-Blade people, are super beings and thus their designs tend to differ greatly from those of "regular" beings, hence the difference between Morag and Brighid.
I dunno, ArcSys does anime, not toku. Also make a deal with TsuPro to have Ultras and Ultra Monsters in the game goddammit, same guy was behind the two franchises

If anyone wonders why I haven't replied, it's not that I am hiding or anything. There were just some huge errands I need to do in our family's field, and no my parent's aren't a farmer...
If anyone doesn't want to see my long post, well sorry for making you disappointed. That said, I thank everyone here down the thread that replies to me not matter if it's rebuttal, criticisms, or just unfair silent request. I have learned a lot from this, I really do.
(I also type this during nightly backup... so I might miss some)
And if anyone bashes at me for my long post, sorry, this will be the last. And I have thought for a while before posting this...
Well okay.... here is my own thought.... bear with me at least once please.
It is not a rant but my two cents... regardless whether you agree or disagree, and not like I don't care about any other people's opinions, yes I respect and aware other people will not agree with my statements and opinions. And this is not just about Xenoblade 2 anymore ok? It's already the thing of the past, if what I mentioned makes some of you think that I am linking to that game, not exactly... this also applies to future JRPGs that I might pick up, like Ys VIII for example....
Every dang time? Really? There's just someone talk about character designs, and all I point out was a Xenoblade character and my own thoughts, what is wrong with that? I thought I made it clear that I understand there will be someone not be pleased... guess that's not enough. And this isn't anything serious, it's just something about video games... in my opinion, get annoyed by an opinion for something about video games is odd.
And yes, back then I was pretty arrogant at the time, and it was really stupid for me to do it, but even now I have changed on how I convey my opinion... but when someone still gets bothered even seeing my opinion then it's me who should be blamed huh? Again, I am open with anyone's opinions, but just saying you are annoyed is just... sorry not gonna say anything further
In conclusion as long as I didn't violate any forum rulesI am actually welcome for other people's thoughts as long as it isn't offense... I was being offensive before... I will never be like that again...
mario123007
Im sorry, but you really need to stop. You've gone beyond obsession, and at this point I would put you at harassment of other members because of how much you fel the need to get your 2 cents in on xenoblade. It seems you are incapable of people having differing opinions of you and that you need to reply. Always.
If you can't handle other people having opinions and you feel the need to always butt in, I suggest you take a break from the internet/SB. It's annoying
People have called you out. Mods have called you out. And you won't stop. Seriously. Xenoblade isn't a religion you need to convert people to. Let other people's opinions exist without constantly replying to people. The harassment needs to end.
Edit: I thought about for a while... I took this message to PM. Like what mods will recommend...
...
Well... looks like you don't even want to have some discussion in PM? Why?
I'm sorry as well, but I need to get this out... I never mention any names... I just give out my thoughts that is just about video game.... and like I said before, I am always welcome for anyone's opinions as long as it isn't offensive, but I am bumped on some people get annoyed by looking at other people's opinion, and everyone seems to be pointing at me at fault...
It's pretty twisted if you think they way I discuss about Xenoblade is like a religion convert people too... this was never my intention. That said, how is now talking stuff about Xenoblade is wrong here? I thought this is a social thread... I do admit I did tried to make a mini PM group to discuss about Xenoblade because the Xenoblade social thread was lacking users... that's why I talk about Xenblade here the most.
People called me out rather than directly say it to me is pretty shady since my post were never offensive by any means, and I thought when things get too far we should go to PM. And now you are actually telling a user to stay away from SB for a while? Thanks for the advice, but even when I am back my opinion is still the same, but I will reassure you I won't be cocky on my opinion...
That said, are my opinions on Xenoblade 2 annoying? Not gonna lie, I have been quite frantic on some aspects, however let's not move goalpost way too far, all I did was replying to Swamp's thoughts regarding character designs, it wasn't directly pointing at anyone.
Now I am not depressed or being frustrated (And I hope you aren't please)... yet... I may be out of SB for a while, but not because of this but just some personal real life stuff to do.
And when did this forum turned out to be me not replying to other people's opinions? When I never harrass anyone with offensive quote, and not even calling out anyone?
I am chill, I am just confused on why my mere statement will cause a huge rail here...
My grip is why I simply made my own opinion... and Shishoe tells me to let go? Let go of what? Yes, I did put up the past discussion debacle on my later post... if Shishoe point out this post, then hey, you got me...
I have discuss this with another user back in Deember when the very unnecessary and disastrous "Xenoblade 2 character design discussion debacle" happened. Which was pretty awful to the point that even some moderators were being biased as well... maybe I am wrong or overreacted, but there was one point I think that a mod warned me for try to be offensive... when I alaready got A LOT of insults and rebuttals after that discussion.
You are literally filling a ton of space from your Xenoblade Chronicles 2 stuff. Why whenever everyone talks about Xenoblade Chronicles, you have to reply with an essay of your opinion?
I think you either miss the point, or if it is really the fact that people get annoyed from my Xenoblade 2 stuff, then I'm sorry but you can neglect my post, nobody forces you to reply or look at it. That said, I type those because I want to hear other people's thoughts. Not just hearing my own opinions.
There is a problem when the original post doesn't even look like it was trying to instigate something or harass somebody and/or it could've been safely ignored and yet somebody decided to start pushing. Like....when I look at the situation, it doesn't look like mario123007
tried to start anything and it could've been safely ignored and somebody else decided to start pushing.
The only thing that probably gave the wrong idea is the fact that he replied to a post and there's a possibility that if there wasn't a reply and just the post, any argument could've been even more easily avoided. Yet I feel like maybe even that might not be possible cause it looks like someone decided to take one thing said and start pushing over it. Cause really, it does look like cherry picking.
I agree that something shouldn't be talked about or taken to heart so zealously, but when I look at this, this looks like something that could've been avoided altogether by the other side just as much and the original post, whether it was trying to instigate something or not, could've just been ignored without any consequence. Yet people decided to not ignore it and begin pushing right away. Basically, the other side is just as much at fault as the side they claim is at fault.
I will be in shame to even reply to this... so... nevermind...
Anyway, very nice review Opossum.
Yeah, I'm not going to tag Mario since he's getting dogpiled enough with direct callouts, but I've been accused of being a defense force for things before and I don't even possess the capability to do the kind of sustained rants he does every time Xenoblade comes up let alone the desire.
This may infuriating people again, but I think the argument was never just Xenoblade.... some people don't accept my opinion... instead of explains why they just call me and and eventually shut me up...
I think this can also explain why @ChikoLad left SB... he was passionate about Sonic, and also got some heat discussion before, in the end, this may once again cause some rants... but some users just ruined the discussion sometimes.
I will give Mario one thing, though, his spiels are never mean spirited. I can think of situations where worse has happened from other users this week alone. Bro's just too persistent for his own good.
That's... I might be pathetic to admit, but that is true, I mean no harm and I already said, I don't want any beef.
I don't think there's anything that's too persistent, others are on their own view regarding Xenoblade, why can't I? Remember, I have negative rants regarding Xenoblade 2, I may be a Xenoblade fan boy I still legit criticize the game.
All in all, I can understand some are bothered by my long post about Xenoblade and yes I aware this post is long too (But this will not happen again) but just tell me to get over something or just shut me up because you don't like my opinion, then sorry but that's not how a thread works.
Let's move on from the debate now, alright? The topic of discussing Xenoblade and its fanservice hasn't really gotten anywhere, and it's best to move on from it completely for now before more dog-piling, or any more unpleasant conversation occurs. Polite discussion about the topic is fine. We all just have to be careful concerning how discussion is going on any given topic.
Please hear my reply... I never ask for this kind of debate, it's something that can be avoided, and I personally think this debate has moved goalpost just a bit far off from what my problem was... it wasn't really about Xenoblade but actually about my opinions on character designs, and I did sort of mention about a character in Xenoblade... that's when things start to fall off.
That said, the mod's right, let's just drop this from hen on, and like how a user said, this was something that can be avoided.
Actually it just snorted the powder straight. And I can't get on board with that. I'm not one of those people that sees FE or TWEWY or, hell, even Golden Sun and is like, "ew anime", but XC2 has just gone so over the top. The art style, in my eyes, is a major turnoff. Aesthetic in games matters more to me than I suspect for others, and when I see designs like Pyra or some of those blades, there's just some tiny part inside me that hurts a bit.
It is your opinion, not gonna criticize much but just say my own thought... aesthetic are important to some degree, however I always like XC2's style the most. People have different taste afterall.
Those are my two cents. And I've no problem if people yell at me for my opinion... I honestly don't care enough to mind, lol. But I'm not getting converted either. I played through the first game and that, frankly, did it for me.
Anywho, a few days ago I said I'd post my thoughts on Shadow Dragon after FINALLY completing it after a slew of technical issues on my end. With that, here we go. Review/Impressions time.
Well, now that you started, I will give my two cents on Shadow Dragon too , hope this is fine. I played it fairly recently (I think it was this last summer?), and I've wanted to review an FE game here for a long time.
Let me begin by saying that I played every FE game except FE4-FE5 (I haven't played 1-2-3, but the remakes exist, and there is no point in going back to the original). Also, I do like all Fire Emblem games, there is no bad game in this franchise, and every one of them brought me lots of entertainment.
That being said... As you said at the beginning, I do see Shadow Dragon as the weakest entry in the series. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, but it's the FE game I enjoyed the least (It's there with FE6 for me). I'll use your post to center my topics, hope you don't mind.
Let's start with the story itself. Honestly, the base plot is pretty typical of Fire Emblem, which makes sense given this is a remake of the first game in the series. Marth's kingdom, Altea, was overtaken by the kingdom of Gra after the latter's forces back-stabbed Marth's father, King Cornelius, killing him on the battlefield. After Gra's army forces Marth and his knights to flee, they sail to the island kingdom of Talys to train. Years later, Marth and his forces set out to take back Altea, and to stop Medeus, the Shadow Dragon. Like I said, the plot itself is standard Fire Emblem fare. The writing quality, however, is where the game shines, making its standard plot have incredible execution.
This I agree completely. This games gives the "war" feeling more than any other game. At the beginning it's really difficult to follow up the many locations and countries affected in the conflict, but once Medeus is revealed as the bad guy, the story becomes easier to follow, yet really interesting. This is one of the best parts of Shadow Dragon.
The Fire Emblem franchise is notable among Nintendo franchises for being incredibly character-driven, more so than gameplay-driven. Not that the gameplay isn't good, mind you, but the series is known for having a rich cast of characters to make the permadeath feel more poignant. With Shadow Dragon's massive cast, this is...sadly a mixed bag. On one hand, playable characters like Marth, Caeda, Merric, Ogma, Minerva, Tiki, and Cain are all very well-written, as well as certain NPCs like Nyna, Camus, and Michalis.
On the other hand, however, you have...the greater portion of Shadow Dragon's cast. Folks like Darros, Castor, Wolf, and Radd get maybe one line upon recruitment, while folks like Bord, Cord, Barst, and Tomas pretty much only get a death quote. That being said, at the very least no characters are outright poorly written or feel like they don't belong. Part of this, of course, is due to Intelligent Systems not wanting to stray too far from the original, which I can understand.
Even those who you mention as well written don't get that many interactions either, and this in particular is something I didn't really like. Don't get me wrong, there's a fair amount of characters I like from the game, like Marth, Shiida (Caeda for others, stupid localization), Merric, Linde, Tiki, and special mention to Catria. Though for example, if it was for Shadow Dragon only, I wouldn't like Catria as much as I do. It's thanks to her being in both New Mistery of the Emblem and Shadows of Valentia that her character grew on me. If not, she would have only been the unit I saw as: "I'm stupidly OP because I've capped all my stats".
Also, having such a big cast of characters was... Horrible. For them, honestly. I recruited them, but I didn't get to meet them. For example, I didn't recruit Jeorge, I just recruited "Silver Bow". Having that many units is unhealthy, though I do understand where they were trying to go, with the ironman stuff. However, Radiant Dawn also had an INSANE amount of units (Over 70 if I recall) and I could care for many of them, even though they had two games to develop the cast, which gives it an unfair advantage.
I do find odd that you didn't metion one of the biggest problems in the game related to characters, which is the lack of supports. Thankfully, they added them in New Mistery of the Emblem. I think a Fire Emblem game without supports loses a lot, and even when they didn’t have supports (Radiant Dawn), at least there was some kind of mechanic to know more about the characters. In a series so character driven as you said, we need as much info from every character as possible, and without supports we lose much of this.
Marth in particular is, in my opinion, one of the series's best lords when it comes to the quality of writing. His struggles throughout the game are believable, and his growth following certain key events is palpable. Of note is the scene that takes place after liberating Altea Castle. Marth finds out that despite his efforts, his mother was killed in his absence and his sister Elice was taken by the mad sorcerer Gharnef. And yet, he recognizes that to his people, this is likely the happiest day of their lives.
"I am a prince before I am a son or brother."
Marth realizes that he owes his people at least one day of celebration, now that the threat of Gra has been lifted. And in spite of his own overwhelming grief, he puts on a strong facade to give hope to his people, as it is his duty as their prince. There are many great moments like this in the game with Caeda, Merric, Nyna, and Minerva in particular, but going through all of them would drag this on way too long.
I love Marth, but it was more because New Mistery of the Emblem. I do still think Marth is a great character in this game, and as you stated, the fact of being royalty it's a burden that he has during the whole game. I still think New Mistery Marth is more relatable and well written, but overall Marth is great in both games, and it's definitely one of my favourite lords.
As for the gameplay, I definitely enjoyed it. Anyone who says the game is a direct port of the original frankly doesn't know what they're talking about. Class changing wasn't in the original, a handful of classes in general were added (including Myrmidon, Swordmaster, Sage, Falcon Knight, Warrior, Sorcerer, and General, to name a few, none of which were in the original), the UI is much more user friendly, Caeda gets the Wing Spear as a PRF weapon while Minerva gets Hautclere, the weapon triangle was added, and healers get experience for healing now. That isn't even an exhaustive list, either. All but the last map are Seize maps, notably, so if mission variety is something you enjoy, that may be a bit of a sore spot. As for me, given my fondness for Awakening and Shadows of Valentia, map mission variety is apparently something I couldn't care less about.
Anyone who says it's a direct port should have his opinion dismissed, the first game is almost unplayable (because of the super slow menus and all, for what I know), and Shadow Dragon is far from that.
I did not like the class change mechanic. Maybe it's just me, but changing the original class of everyone felt so wrong. I remember having to change Shiida to a myrmidon because she is used to recruit many characters in the game, and that one map had way too many archers to use her on the pegasus, and it felt extremely weird. That, adding to the fact that there was no penalty whatsoever for changing class, made me use this feature very few times. Talking about classes, this game has the worst class ever, the balista. I couldn't stand using any of them, low movement, almost no ammo for them, and very bad stats across the board.
Funny to hear you talk about personal weapons without talking about the weapon forge (I don't know if that was in the original honestly). It was really fun to forge the rapier and the wing spear at the beginning to have invincible Marth and Shiida.
The maps did bother me a lot. Tellius games are probably my favourite games (I have to think more about it to say for sure), and those games had so many different objectives, each map was super unique (specially Radiant Dawn). Having seize maps in all chapters was a bit boring honestly.
One point of contention the game often receives is the Gaiden Chapter system. Basically, these are chapters you only obtain if you have less than fifteen units alive. Some see this as an incentive to kill off your allies, but I see it differently. This is meant to be a comeback mechanic. The original very much had the Iron Man playstyle (wherein you continue onward if a unit dies no matter what) in mind, hence the exorbitant amount of units, and this was following a similar philosophy. You can very easily complete the game and have a fulfilling experience without needing to play the extra chapters. They existed solely as a precursor to Casual Mode, honestly. That being said, it'd be disingenuous if I didn't at least bring them up.
I'm one of those guys who reset whenever someone dies or fails to recruit someone, so this game to me is as if it didn't have gaiden chapters. Again, I do see where they were going with them, but I'm going to pass.
Likewise, another thing that many people have against Shadow Dragon is the sprite style, calling the portraits washed out and the in-battle sprites ugly. Yes, the battle sprites are reminiscent of the classic DS pseudo-3D, but the only time it looked outright bad, in my opinion, was Medeus's transformation. The portrait style I actually thought was a nice stylistic choice. As well, the pre- and post-chapter art is gorgeous, in my opinion.
This I have to disagree, specially in the portraits, just because New Mistery of the Emblem exists. Compare any of the characters portrait in both games, and New Mistery looks extremely good compared to Shadow Dragon. I found the faces weird anyways, just look at Marth... The 3D models didn't bother me, because I usually play without animations. Though I must say the animations compared to other entries, like the GBA and Tellius look real bad. The worst offender are crits, so stylish in GBA and Tellius games, and pretty dull in this one. I do agree that he art between chapters was outstanding.
Over all though, I really enjoyed Shadow Dragon. It isn't flawless, but it also isn't the total train wreck some paint it as. Far from it, really. I'd give it an 8.4/10 honestly. Incredibly solid, and hey, if nothing else, you get to play through the remake of Marth's first game.
It's a 7/10 for me. I do think I ended comparing it too much with the other games in the franchise, instead of talking about it as a standalone game, but whatever. It was a pity that they had to test the waters with this one, because New Mistery of the Emblem it's like this game but with almost all my complaints fixed, but I'm guessing because of the poor success of Shadow Dragon they didn't localise it, truly a shame. I did enjoy it, I just find it way worse than the rest of the franchise, and since we’ve been spoiled with so many great games, it’s normal now and then one game doesn’t live to the expectations.
I respect your opinion, and I’m glad you enjoyed as much as you did. Whenever there’s a bit of talk about any Shadow Dragon character, you appear to give your two cents, so it’s obvious you really like the cast from the game. Anyways, good to talk about this game in here, feel free to reply if you disagree with anything I said.
I can't access the article but what the ****, not even all four of the titular characters? Huge ****ing let down as we didn't even get goddamn Yang? I get this was a small project for ArcSys but yeesh
If anyone wonders why I haven't replied, it's not that I am hiding or anything. There were just some huge errands I need to do in our family's field, and no my parent's aren't a farmer...
The most recent I played are Mario Odyssey and Sonic Mania.
Both are great games in their own right. But dang, I died waaaaaaay more than I should have on Chemical Plant Zone. I let you guess on what part of the level I died.
Excuse me? No offense but it doesn't mean I can't quote other people's reply and have my thoughts right? Unless things gets too lengthy and heated then you are right. Regardless, it isn't appropriate to tell other user to shut up.
In the whole, this mash-up of good and bad design is mostly due to how many different artists worked on so many different characters and put their own touch while for some not caring how the final result would look with the other character. (Hi, Dalhia!)
We just ever know if they even care... but the fact is most people aren't happy with Dahlia's design's including me... but when I actually play the game, I didn't really care about her too much... until the Blade combos.. yikes...
Again... huh? I guess Xenoblade is now a taboo here... just because some people think I am too annoying...
How about just those ignore Xenoblade stuff if you aren't interested in Xenoblade? That's what I do when it comes to Fire Emblem, sorry...
Aw crap, I just realized February will be expensive.
2 cinema trips, Black Panther and Shape of Water
3 Sentai collection things
At least 2 Kamen Rider collection things
And if I save up for the rest of January a Switch
Again... huh? I guess Xenoblade is now a taboo here... just because some people think I am too annoying...

It's not that Xenoblade is taboo. Tons of posts here talk about Xenoblade. This thread has tons of Xenoblade fans, myself included.
The issue is that you keep harping on points and that comes off to the majority that you don't respect other people's opinions. You can get passive aggressive sometimes and refuse to let certain topics go. Other users are guilty of that as well, but it has been very common with you recently.
If you don't mean that, I suggest changing your strategy. Cause what you're doing now just isn't working.
Maybe just let time pass before starting another Xenoblade discussion.
Here, have you played The Last Story? It's another Nintendo JRPG that might be right up your alley. Pandora's Tower is good too but not as good as the first.
There's a very legit reason why, the rare Blades are designed by different artist.
Well... you aren't wrong, but Xenoblade is a fictional JRPG, and JRPGs tend to have ridiculous designs, and chance are it will backfire.

I remember there's one Moon that is pretty hard to get in a Kingdom that I can't tell... the game just have full of challenges, I mean real ones
But...that's what I said in my post. Heck, you even quoted the part.
And this is why you shouldn't complain about peoples complaining about ridiculous design. JRPG is a niche genre for a reason.
Keep in mind that part was pure speculation. Unless one of the artist come and say, "I wanted to make good R34 character". We will never know what the intention of the creator were. (Though, again, Dalhia is just pure bad fanservice, and others have the right to complain abotu that)
Finally, talking about Xenoblade isn't a taboo. You are just giving a bad impression everytime you talk about it. Because you cannot let others have opinion that differ from yours. Please, if you really love Xenoblade 2. Stop making this long post that keep saying the same thing over and over again. Just let it go, please, I'm not trying to be mean. But you aren't helping the game reputation or the fanbase by making those posts.

Here is my question, in what way I don't respect other people's opinions? You just saw a lot of dogpile on me and even tell me to shut up... when I never said anything offensive.
This is not me taunting, I really want to know what I did to made some people mad.
I just continue to post what I do... I'm not trying to convince anyone. I just give out my personal opinions, whether you agree or disagree it's totally up to you.
Please, besides pointing at me, what about other user that just simply reply me being annoying? I can accept legit criticisms, but a request of shutting up my freedom of speech is just wrong.

Of course... not... but I would want to play
I only head those two since along with Xenoblade (SORRY), The Last Story and Pandora's Tower were the three JRPGs for the Wii and weren't localized in US until the Operation Rainfall started. I have heard The Last Story was made by Final Fantasy's creator, since that I have always hope I can find a way to play the game.
So explain what I did to make a bad impression? Is having rebuttal on other people's opinions will make me leave a bad impression? Perhaps I was very cocky in the past, but now I have change my tone, where other users will accept it or not it is totally up to them.

Again, sorry for saying the same thing, also this shouldn't be a long post, you can't stop a user talking about a certain game they like. That just doesn't sound right, what happens if I tell you to stop talking about Xenoblade just because that users thinks you are annoying?
That said, I guess I will be silent for a while and play XC2 by myself for now. Still need to get KOS MOS.

Platformers are my favourite genre, I'm always playing them! Last year was also really good, we got to play Odyssey, Sonic Mania and Crash NSane trilogy, three excellent games. I've yet to play A Hat in Time, though I've heard lots of good things about it.
But I recently replayed both Rayman Origins and Legends, and I have to give this games so much credit. They're one of the best modern 2D platformers hands downs. I think Origins is one of the most frenetic and fun games ever made, and speedrunning it it's amazing. Seriously guys, if you haven't played both these games, I absolutely recommend them as a platformer fan. Both have been ported to lots of consoles, and I think both are available for PC. Please play these games, and maybe Ubi makes the unthinkable and they finally give us another Rayman in 3D (I also love Rayman 3 a lot).
So let's say that back in the far-flung era of March, 2017 you happen to pick up Xenoverse on sale, and spring for the Season Pass, and also you're just a phenomenally handsome person, like, really, just the best.
And then you finally start it up but everything keeps beating your towering mountain of meat.
What's a poor hypothetical mischevious-yet-charming sarcastically egotistical gentleman to do?
It turns out you go into the parallel quests packing SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta to go whoop on Big Ol Monkey Form Baby because that's apparently a thing you can do. And tail grabs when he's winded just let you cheese the hell out of it. And you can slop the mission hardcore because your esteemed computer colleagues can revive you pretty much every time the oaf gets a word in edgewise.
But best of all, at this level:
It is profitable.
So let me respond to a few things and then it's off to play more kick the Baby like my name's Ike Broflovski:
Don't let the title fool you. This game is 0 dollars and 0 cents on Steam and better than half the platformers I've purchased. Once you get used to its slightly wonky control scheme you will be flying around the screen tearing it up like Death's own messenger.
Also they've aimed for charming rather than fanservice with character design. And the writing's not bad. And it's ****ing free.
