Its not over. Not by a long shot. Its one of Nintendo's most successful titles. Just because they didn't reveal it now doesn't mean they won't later. And when they do, it'll be in a bigger event. After all, this was just a mini direct.

I'm surprised that it was a direct mini but it wasn't that bad. One big first party title being teased that's new like Fire Emblem would have been nice, but it was still good for a mini.

Really glad to see TWEWY on switch. That's a big surprise and something I wanted to play after KH DDD had the characters in it. So I'll be picking this up.

Pokken is cool, I'll probably buy the DLC as I had the game on my switch awhile now.

Kirby still looks good.

Not surprised with HW it sold great on both systems and will sell good here I'm sure.

Mario tennis may be good again.

Tropical Freeze surprised me but makes sense.

Odyssey DLC may be fun.

Dark souls I thought was coming, but expected GTA to be announced first.

Overall fairly good direct, can't wait for the next full blown direct.

I double down to The Wonderful 102 being announced

Well, for W101 there was that new art of it that hinted at a Switch port. Which also came with that Bayonetta art that people linked to a possible Switch port.

The latter (plus a sequel) ended up happening, would not be shocked to see it happening with 101.

This is why I expected it in this direct, if it wasn't a mini I could have seen it happen. Perhaps next direct, as I think it is still happening.

I wish Hyrule Warriors had come with a full BotW pack, character(s) included. I'd double dip if that was the case. That game was decent fun. Now... ehhh... idk. Games are too expensive nowadays.

Let it be known I called this almost exactly a year ago though lol

We may see some new content before release, the 3ds one had a few surprises.

To be honest I'm pretty satisfied by the Direct especially considering it was a Mini. I'm fully expecting another full Direct relatively soon, maybe February, probably March, where we'll get some bigger scale announcements. I feel like this was kind of like 'Hey, don't worry this is what you can play the next couple of months.' just to satisfy owners for the early year.

It's been less than two years since the last Smash content drop, people just need to chill. We used to have to go like six and seven years between Smash games. I'm still of the mind we'll see a Smash 4 port... now presumably at E3. Maybe it's tied to the online launch.

After seeing more ports today, I have to agree.
A Smash port still isn't too farfetched.

DQ demo!!!! Downloading but no buy cos I never play Minecraft/terraria type games for more than a few hours.
HW Good idea but surprised it's this year!

DKTF awesome port. Might get it someday one of few Wii U games i missed out on. But only just got my switch and 3 of 4 of my games are platformers. And I don't have Mario yet. Chances are if I don't buy this year I'll get 2020 since 2019 is looking HUGE.

(Metroid Bayonetta maybe Pokémon. Probs Smash Bros. Maybe maybe Animal Crossing tho don't care for last bit)

Thanks for the new avatar, Nintendo (surprised I wasn't tagged for that, lol).

Anywho, thoughts time:

• The World Ends with You - I know there's a strong demand for a sequel but it's nice that Square Enix still cares for it. Not interested.
• Pokkén Tournament DX - Cool to see it getting some extra, and fun looking, characters. Maybe I'll pick the game up sooner.
• Kirby: Star Allies - I want this game even moar.
• Hyrule Warriors: Definite Edition - Noice as well as the Breath of the Wild costumes. Will I actually triple dip?
• Mario Tennis Aces - A Mario Tennis that's actually worth buying again? Dem outfits! And thank you for the return of a story mode (but I'm not really seeing RPG elements though).
• Ys VIII: Lacrimosa - Not interested
• Super Mario Odyssey - The lack of Luigi in the game felt super wrong but it's good to see it's been fixed (not how I expected, though).
• SNK Heroines: Tag Team - A King of Fighters XIV like game on the Switch is surprising.
• Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle - Not close to the character I was expected but still looks exciting. Now I'm REALLY buying the season pass (but what happened to that January 16 date?).
• Payday 2 - Not interested.
• Fe & Celeste - Not interested.
• Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Nice to see a great game get ported with a cool mode. Funky Kong looks super broken (just like in Mario Kart Wii). This BETTER not be Retro Studios' secret project.
• Dark Souls: Remastered - Not interested but I know this is big news for many.

And of the mystery of the Chibi-Robo on fire is still unsolved (and I think the hot dog man was just a red herring).

Violet Evergarden is so ****ing beautiful, like, seriously, I can't express how beautiful it is, not just its visuals or music, but on its whole atmosphere and the story it wants to tell.
It's on Netflix and is the first time they're simulcasting an anime, so give the first episode a watch at the very least.

Fittingly enough, it also works as a great contrast to Devilman Crybaby's dark, violent, horny and rough style with a light, calming, pure and polished style.

Well, I think it's reasonable to ask such questions. After all:
-If something happens to the mother, what would happen with Sharena's comment about her mother? Would they bother to change it to mention her in passing rather than in present tense?
-The fact that their father was even named begs the question, "Are they going to do something with him?" I mean, usually when they bother to give a character related to the main character a name, their role in the game or story tends to boost up a whole notch.
-Even if something doesn't happen to Gustav, considering that Gunnthra didn't have an main appearance and was only a voice with a name that claimed to be related to the newest character and yet she became a Legendary Hero, could we have the possibility of Gustav being a Legendary Hero? And to be honest, a Team of Dad/Mom/Son/Daughter would be cool to see.

Either way, questions regarding a named character aren't exactly the ones that already have answers.

I don't even have a reason to care about the Direct when I'm still flooded with games from last year.

I wasn't expecting anything and I didn't have the time to care either. Too much Skyrim, not enough investment.

Call me when E3 happens, that's where I expect anything of interest to pop up. Not like we had a reason to expect anything big yet if it wasn't announced last year, people kept confusing the system's initial rollout announcement for a pattern of some kind.

Eliwood got lucky he only showed up for literally one chapter and then got written out of it. I mean, he doesn't even show up in the ending. 10 bucks on the remake adding him as another Eleventh Hour Ranger just so he can kick Zephiel's ass

And if we want to count mothers, then there's Eliwood's too, dittingly enough(the Pharae house has the lowest mortality rate of all of Elibe, surprisingly)

Breh 2017 had at least one major first party game per month and every new console starts out with ports. Look at the PS4 and Xbox 1's first years of releases
