You pay a premium to get the game (€2.99), but there's no more gacha elements so no micro-transactions.
In terms of gameplay, it's basically the same as the original but with a few changes. Mainly that the combo system and the combo gems are gone, since there's no need to rack up huge point totals anymore. The Wisps seem to be gone too from what I played. The RPG elements are really toned down too, I already maxed out Sonic and Tails (unless I can raise the cap later), and leveling up just makes their special last longer. There's also a bonus item you can collect that brings you to a bonus stage after clearing a stage, where you fly through space and collect as many Rings as you can.
They also have these cinematic sequences where the game plays itself for some reason.
Some levels are one run through a pre-designed level, others have laps, and others are infinite and randomly generated (these ones are optional from what I can tell). Levels have objectives this time which give you stars and you need stars to unlock gates along the map. No more grinding for points to progress.
It's definitely a lot less stingy now with the removal of the awful gacha and grinding elements and I prefer having set levels for the most part. But at the same time, I kinda miss the wider variety of stuff to collect and upgrade from the original, as well as the Wisps.
That's fanfiction if I ever saw it. Especially considering Jigsaw never tortured people for the funsies. And Kevin only enjoyed making fun of the ones who were trying to rob his place and steal money that was meant for a children's hospital. Please don't take this "theory" seriously.
It happens whenever you haven't connect to that network for a long time I guess...
That said, it's normal for Switch Wifi screws up pretty easily sometimes...
I'm honestly curious, in which way is Rex's personality better than Shulk's? Also, we're talking about personality, not about the character itself right? Because on the latter case, Shulk destroys Rex with his eyes closed (and maybe he could, because visions and all that stuff. (Also I just love Adam Howden, one of my favourite voice actors ever)
All I was saying was Rex's personality was more "interesting" than Shulk, doesn't mean Rex overall is better than Shulk.
The reason why I say this is because Rex tends to get more emotional and also cheeky in some situations, such as...
Rex gets heated and mad when he realized Jin stabbed him.
Rex makes fun of Nia plenty of times.
But what is a bit weird and pretty cliche or almost any main protagonist is.... both Rex and Shulk's parents died when they are young...
And hey, I did say Shulk's VA was way better than Rex, especially in those certain cutscenes where big deal stuff happens, so hey please look at my post thoroughly next time lol.
In conclusion I still decided that XC characters overall are just slightly better than XC2, XC2 characters looks great because of the anime artstyle and their personality overall don't lose to XC, but they don't have that fair share of depth and development like XC's.
I agree with most of the things you say, I do wonder what X would win. I mean, it's not gonna win any award for the story nor the characters, but for me, the combat system of X is the most fun out of the three, and also Mira while not as interesting as Mechonis and Bionis or Alrest, gave so much freedom to explore everything, and it's so huge... I think people often don't give enough credit to X, maybe because the original XC was too great.
I didn't compare X because....
- Takahashi already said X was more focused on gameplay rather than story, so technically the game itself can't be compared on the same mindset as XC and XC2.
- I haven't play X myself and I only watch the gameplay.
That said, if you ask me which things X did better than the two games.... I still think the gameplay features, battle system, music (SAWANO YEAH!), and world graphics are better.
Final notes:
- I didn't play a lot of games this year, which I feel pretty sad about seeing as how so much good stuff came out. If I had played games like FE Echoes, Nier, Tales of Berseria, Horizon or even Gravity Rush 2 this list might've been pretty different.
- I kinda struggled with putting Forces on the 10th spot, but it's only competition was Crash N-Sane Trilogy and while that is "technically" the better game, I've never been a huge fan of Crash AND I've felt more compelled to actually replay Forces and get better at it.
I play way less games so my top 5 games of 2017 are pretty much just my own... so that's why I put Nintendo Switch on my No 1 list since it's the best thing ever to appear in gaming community this year.
I might play Tales of Berseria someday and try to compare it to Xenoblade 2...
It may sound odd but XC2 has already been the most played game on my console... over 95 hours...
Perhaps this is because I haven't played Odyssey and Splatoon 2 that much these days. Back when I was in US I couldn't enter the lobby when playing Splatoon 2 at all... so I couldn't play turf war...
This is why I don't talk about spoilers too often... sometimes it's better to talk about the gameplay, rare Blades, as for Blades quests I will also try my best to not talk about what happened... (Azami's quest was still the most bada** and creepiest... I mean when it comes to creepy... Azami herself is sure creepy....)
That said I got a bit spoiled regarding Jin on the Chinese Wikipedia... hope that won't be a big deal.
And once I completed the game I'm gonna reedit that...
Brave Lyn. Followed by Reinhardt and Hector.
Ultimately, any character can be made good and can take out anyone with dedicated investment. Yes, even Odin and Henry who are often looked down upon for their low attack. It's just that those 3 are the easiest to invest in and they'll be strong regardless.
With Brave Lyn, you don't even need to invest in order for her to be good. She'll be great regardless. Reinhardt and Hector are great by themselves, but want some easy investments that make them stronger easily, like Death Blow and Lancebreaker for Reinhardt and Vantage for Hector.
That being said, FEHeroes revolves around countering just as much as player phasing. That's why there are characters who are invested to specifically counter these 3 characters. You have Green Tome users like F!Robin, Cecilia, PA!Inigo, Boey, etc using Gronraven & Bowbreaker for Brave Lyn and Reinhardt. Then you have tanky Red Sword users, like Xander or Ike for Hector.
I wouldn't call Hector one of the Top 3.
Like, yeah, he's good but not THAT good, you don't see entire units being run just to counter him in particular. Doesn't help he only has 1 Mov so it's easy to handle him compared to Brave "lol dc" Lyn and Rein"I was born into the meta"hardt.
That's fanfiction if I ever saw it. Especially considering Jigsaw never tortured people for the funsies. And Kevin only enjoyed making fun of the ones who were trying to rob his place and steal money that was meant for a children's hospital. Please don't take this "theory" seriously.
>Bandai Namco LATAM reply to comments on Facebook about people wanting a dub for FighterZ
>Lalo Garza, director for the Latino dub for DB Super and Krillin's VA tweets out that he's directing a dub for a "Super" video game that everyone is dying for
>Mfw
The tweet's been deleted since, and it could've been about anything. But man if it's actually about FighterZ imma nut.
