I didn't say "they should have said something five years ago" because it makes them look like an attention seeker if they do not, as a universal rule. Though in this specific instance, it definitely comes off this way, especially in the attitude of the victim. You know, Terry Crews was a victim of sexual assault years ago, and only a few weeks ago did he come out about it. It took him so long because he knew no one would believe him, after all he's a 6'3," 245lbs black dude. This may be a different scenario, but that doesn't change much at all. Victim blamers like you are gross and are the reason people take so long just to come out with something. This whole "why didn't the victim do this!!!! They're doing it for attention!!!!" is exactly why we have so many problems
If you don't come out about something the moment it happens, then your ability to present concrete evidence wanes overtime. If it was an actual court case, this could destroy your case. There have been many, many instances of this happening to people. And it's unfortunate for those who actually did have something unjust done to them, but in a lot of cases, it's their own fault.
The Terry Crews situation is completely different, since he had tangible, sensible reasons not to speak up, like it effecting his career. That doesn't mean it was necessarily the right decision, but there was a logical reason for him to keep quiet.
That was not the case with this person who was apparently doxxed. Like I showed, they were approached about it five years ago, admitted it did happen (i.e. not concealing that it happened at all), but said it was not a big deal and that there was no reason for it to get in the way of AHiT's success. They were not held at gunpoint or otherwise had a real reason to not talk about it, they simply didn't think it was a big deal...
...until AHiT actually releases to mass critical and commercial success, and NOOOOW it's a big deal. Now they want to talk about it, even without being approached this time.
Frankly, I think it's pretty low to compare the Terry Crews situation to this. The two situations are nothing alike.
JonTron did retract those statements (and clarified the ones that were LITERALLY misconstrued. I read the articles, and he did not say a lot of things they said he did, they twisted his words because that's how the media works to get hits). But your bias has probably led you to filter that out.My entire cultural identity was destroyed 400 years ago when white people took African slaves to the new world. I'm sorry, but no matter how many years pass, until something is done to right those wrongs, it'll always be relevant. Same rings true with JonTron. He hasn't retracted those statements, he hasn't taken strides to improve, he hasn't shown anyone anything that he doesn't still believe that entire groups of people should be removed from the gene pool. Until he does, it will always be relevant.
Being outraged is more fun after all, right?
